This Mog King event is much better for me than the last one so far.
On day 1 I got Orlandu in only 4 pulls and already ran into 4 groups of 3 chocobos, mainly red ones.
Bought all Gigantuars to get Orlandu to 100.
Almost have all tickets already.

Still haven't seen what they're all about. Granted I just checked and only ran elt 15 times so far. But still, where are the chocos?!

Yea I actually​ got 2 within 15-20 runs. That's half of how many Nimbus I saw in god knows how many runs.

No, no, not what I meant. They both have their plus and minus, like Marie has innate dual cast while Minfilia doesnt for example. It's just that they have similarities and if you didn't get to pull Marie, at least Minfilia was there up for free to grab. I'll still level both.
I meant that in a way that I wasn't so excited to have pulled Marie when I found out about Minfilia.

And BTW great post about your plan Kourio, I also saved it since I have pretty much the same mindset right now, a very good strategy.
I will keep looking at your post when I have the itch to pull on something else.

Ramza is a better get than Orlandu in the long term. There will be a ton of characters that are equal or better to Orlandu overall but there's only one character that can come close to Ramza as a buffer. Ramza will straight up break things with his buff.
Just doesn't have that new car smell anymore!
Curious to see how the new esper and summoners will affect the buffers meta.

Orlandeau get! Now I know I tempted fate. And since someone asked, in the interests of transparency, here's what it took:
10 tickets (got all the bonus units);
5000 lapis I already had - which I topped off for a 10+1 pull featuring Soleil and Rain's bro Lawrence.
At that point, I figured I'd empty out my Amazon account on my PC. I spent $41 to get coins, did a 10+1 pull, and got nothing of note besides Gaff and Sazh (and I'm actually not complaining about Sazh).
At that point, I bought another top-off to get to 5300, did my final pull of the evening, and... TGC.
So, I guess it really was about $50, which is about what I budgeted. Since I got $35 in birthday money today, I'm willing to say that Orlandu was worth $15. Now, it's time to save, save, save.
As well as bleed this FFT event dry.

Yeah, the raid really made me realise how good Ramza is, and he's not even enhanced yet. As content gets harder it seems to be getting trickier having my white mage cast buffs, and I really notice the difference when I don't have buffs up. He's become a staple in my team already.

I agree on the art style of the game. At least the characters. Everything else though was fantastic.
Especially as a teenager going from FF8 to... that.
My young child mind couldn't understand why they would do that. To a certain degree I still don't, and likely never will

He takes a bit longer to get going over Ramza but he's better in the long term because he's basically a buffer and a debuffer when he gets started. He becomes optimal for long fights.
Correct, after maxing their levels, your next goal is to awaken them to their next star level. You get that through farming up materials, or using the ones you get naturally. After awakening, you need to max their level out again as well but they'll become stronger through better stat gains and more natural skills they learn.
After a character has reached their max star level and max level, then gear is how you'd power them up.
Before ability awakening/enhancements, it's arguably better to use someone that can buff to a lesser degree but can still do other things but once he hits 100% on his buffs, that goes out the window, lol

Yeah I agree with you. The reason I started using him was because my only two viable buffers are Cecil and Refia. With Cecil it's fairly easy to get Focus up, but after the first turn it becomes a struggle to get Embolden up with Refia in challenging fights. It was fine before, but the difficulty seems to have increased recently with Gilgamesh and Ifrit. I guess whatever works right? Lol.

It's good to start with gear you get from towns and the story. You get a baseline from that and you can start building up your arsenal through events. Eventually, you'll get trust master rewards which are usually some of the most powerful gear you can get.

I'd really suggest to always do dailies, unless it's a 5* you simply don't want. Double the chance just can't be beat. Way better use of lapis than doing 11 pulls, even with the guaranteed gold.
The current Final Fantasy Tactics event has some top tier rewards in regards to...pretty much everything. Best place to get awakening materials, best place to get cactuars for leveling, top tier weapons (katana and holy greatsword). All of this is time limited and should be first and main priority.
Add some strong friends who can carry you through the event and spend the majority of your energy in the event dungeon with as many bonus units in your party as possible.

Yeah, same here. I have 400k to go. At least during the weekend, I should be able to ensure I don't waste any orbs.
And hell, I just realized that I can switch to ELT since it's the weekend and I have time.
I would have preferred Orlandu ;_;
So now I have Noctis, Luneth, and Ramza
On The Raid Business: The Raid is as good as done for the weekend. Between Mogking and Cactur Dunes, it's 3rd place for time.

So as the guy who normally misses key items from events do yourself a favor and get Kiyomori, First Strike, and Durandal.

I focus on hp and some mp. Survival edge, soul crown, Minerva Bustier, soluna ring, that hp+15% ring from the last event, hp +15% x3, MP +20%.
