See for me I'll be sticking by my guns for both in game and out of game reasons. In game reasons include the fact that I have units that are awesome that I haven't even leveled up yet. Zarga, Amelia, Merc Ramza, etc. Will be fun to take them for a spin. When looking at my box of units I have too many, outside of some necessary TM's in the future I don't need any new units for a very long time. I mean don't get me wrong power creep couldn't be more real but for the next 3 months or until Ayaka I won't need anything outside of TM's. I mean when you have almost all the top units you have lots of variation. And you know what? The top units aren't doing shit for me in reference to this new trial lol. 2B isn't working because I don't have Ace, Landu riding the bench because gumi's like "lolholyresist, fuck your holy damage!", Trance Terra is benched because lolmages, Noct as much as I hate to say it has been phased out, Fryevia the goddess isn't doing much because of the mechanics of this fight. Perhaps if I had Ace I could ice debuff and use her aoe but no Ace. Having to use 2 Setzers and 2 Rikkus to cheese this really pisses me the hell off but so be it. The game will evolve and new units will be released. Unless they release another Fryevia type that will change the meta then I really will be sticking to my guns. The hard thing though is that I will need to do a lapis purchase soon as I have none to use for tm farming

Yea considering I got a second A2 yesterday, I think I am good with too units for a while. I may do some dailies on certain banners, but I'm done paying for lapis. The lapis I do have will mostly be for TM farming, which I have a lot of stuff I want to get started on.
I've also been checking out other gacha, such as Valiant Force and SINoALICE (really hope they release this in English soon). Will continue with FEH as well.
Honestly I really want to continue the story here. Maybe even have the remainder just released in one go.

Ugh, stupid Marlboro trail. Beat it while I had time during lunch and for some reason it didn't trigger the LB burst kill, even though I did in fact used it. Messed up the timing or something- I don't know.
So I did it again with a different team. LB kill doesn't trigger again.
Only thing I wanted from this trail was that Marlboro Whisper. I don't want that stupid eye, and I'm meh on the whip.
Easily the hardest trail in this game so far. I gotta admit I like the difficulty, I just wish it wasn't so tedious, and the items you got were actually good like Aigarion's Arm.

I'm actually holding out too. I'm pissed off after this Nier fiasco. Ayaka was the only unit I was prepared to go for, after seeing how the Malboro trial (the hardest content) was handled, I don't even think there's a point to try and get a top tier healer anymore.
Did you get her exclusive shield?
Yeah.....Patriot was the first thing i got back then after the update lol.
I think she was my main Tank for a while as well. Good old times.

I'm kind of of the opposite opinion. I think anyone who's primary enjoyment comes from pulling is doomed to lose interest in the game or rage quit. Like virtually every other game in existence, the main meat of the game is game play and story. They rotate events each week to keep the game play fresh and now have story events to add other facets of story. If you're not enjoying any of the actual content, what good is pulling? Treating units like action figures you keep on a shelf? Pulling is to add the spice of life, variety to the game. It's there for when you get bored with your existing units and for when you need to make your team stronger to continue advancing in the new content. You shouldn't need to pull every banner or every other banner to enjoy the game but as you said, different strokes for different folks. I think anyone that can't enjoy the game without pulling for stretches aren't going to be playing this long term unless they are willing to spend money. Sprinkling in dailies being an exception, of course. I guess we'll see how things go when virtually every banner has double rainbows and golds but I see resources sinking quickly and if you're tapped out and aren't' enjoying the other aspects of the game....
We now all count down to the coming of the goddess, Ayaka! I'm still thinking September but of course you never know.

The rates on Nier have been such hot garbage that it's actually left me feeling more meh than when I went into this. I wasn't even excited about Nier, but hearing 9S's Trust would be worth it, I figured I'd try. I've not by any means blown as much as probably 99% of people here. I am not planning on burning all my resources either. I'm just frustrated that apparently Eve is so easy to get while 9S is just... not even in the pool. At least it feels like it.
I got a 9S on my alt, and I'm thankful for that. But where I really need it is on my main. I've been doing dailies every day for a chance, but dailies gonna be dailies. *cough*offbannerpiecesofshitlikeRussell*cough*
I guess in end I'll continue to do daily until end and again have to cut my losses. I simply just cannot get the Gold on banner. (Well, in this case, the Gold I want.) If it's limited, Gold, and I want it, I can give it up. That's how it's been on these banners. Guess that is how it will always be. (At least it feels that way. This banner has been uber trash on pulls for most part.)
[JP] This raid is beautiful. Giving me cactaur like they're going out of style. I love it. Magecite is a good side bonus I'll deal with later. Capped out CG Sakura earlier. Working on Camille right now. Hope I can break WIlhelms cap to get to 6* and finish him off, work on naked Fina, work on Mercedes, and hope to work on CoD in all of this. We shall see. But enjoying the plethora of cactaur so far.

I've spent $20? i think back on the Noctis banner to make some pulls for him...ended up with disappointment. This was before Lapis for story though. New players have it good!

Sorry for your loss. I've said it once and I'll say it again. Banner rates for rainbows need to be in favor of the banner unit instead of an off banner unit. It happened to me when pulling for 2B, got a Merc Ramza. Happened when pulling for Orlandu, happened when pulling for Trance Terra, and so on and so on and so on. Shit SUCKS!

I totally agree. Banner units almost feel pointless unless they're 3*. Sometimes it's like you aren't even pulling on a banner at all.

There were only three times(three banners) I went crazy hard on pulling.
The first was the players choice banner, when I wanted Noctis so badly. But finally got him and Gilgamesh in the same pull. I also got so many moogle TMs that at this point in the game I finally felt powerful. That banner also had 3* Cecil so I walked away with more Excalibur's than I will ever need. In retrospect, this was what made me feel like and become a whale. I had the top tier everything at that point. It set me up for a long time.
Then came the Bahumut raid banner. I rage pulled for Reberta. Absolutely regret this one. Got her at a high cost. Got tons of TMs for Draco Spikes, so that was the only truly helpful thing to come out of it. While I use Rebertas spear, I don't use her at all. If I could take back the money spent, I would. I believe this was also when Amazon had a really good coin deal, which made me pull as well.
The third and last time I went nuts was this Nier banner. I could've walked away and had two 9S, and a 2B within only 50 pulls. But no, I needed A2. And so I rage pulled again. Got her, 4 2Bs, like 20 9S, and now I'm swimming in TMs from it all. Which is great, but I feel dirty.
I'm not doing this shit anymore. I'm playing till the bitter end but I'm only going for dailies at this point. I don't even know what I'm saving tickets for.
The longer we don't pull on banners the bigger the rainbow pool will be, then all the rainbows will have a better chance of being someone we dont have!

I tend to be very disciplined about pulling - except when I have insomnia. My resistance against pulling tends to fly out the window when I can't sleep.
So I used all 22 of my remaining tickets on the Nier banner during my last bout of insomnia last week and got 2 rainbows.. a Queen - and 2B!

I avoided pulling on the previous banners so I could save up for the Nier banner. I don't mind not pulling and the only timeI REALLY feel like it is to get bonus units for Mog King events. After the Nier banner, there's not much I'm interested in getting. I would be happy to see the Bravely Default banner, but that's not gonna be for a long time from now. There are other things to do in the game outside of pulling characters. The biggest thing for me is getting Trust Moogles to build up my units. Still working on getting Tidus in a good place, but that's gonna take time. I'm okay with this. If Gumi wants me to get hyped for pulls, then they're gonna have to work harder at it now. My groups are pretty stacked and though I would LOVE to have Trance Terra, I'm not going out of my way to get her.
Oh, and I think the story is terrible, so I hardly ever do story missions...unless I need lapis or this silly sword we get with the stupid keys. That's not a draw for me at all.
Been here since soft launch. Nothing spent but my time...I count myself lucky to have the squad that I do, but I tell myself that my luck is better because I don't spend money and abysmal rates are only for people who Gumi know will keep pulling until they get what they want...they need to keep us F2Pers around until the point that something breaks us and we spend so giving us better RNG stops us from quitting until that happens...
Again...this is what I tell myself, not what the case is (unless it is). It's kept me from spending anyway. The more you spend the worse your luck gets...believe it and your wallet will cry less at night when you sleep.
Once you spend your first thousand on the Gacha, there is no going back. If you had strong will you would have never done that to begin with, so don't fool yourself thinking you can stop. You either delete the game or you will be fooled by your frustrations sooner than later.
The best thing I did this year was deleting Record Keeper, Dokkan Battle and Fire Emblem. Once you lose a couple of limited events, sales and free stuff it's much easier to never have a reason to come back and you can move on.

I was rerolling on JP a few days ago, and the number of Mistair's I saw was crazy. I think I'm pretty much done chasing any non-limited 4*s, as they always come up on a random off-banner gold in a reasonable amount of time.
Went through about 100 pulls, but I picked up my 2nd 9S with yesterday's daily, so I'm happy now. Didn't get a rainbow, but I'm not too excited about these 5*, so that's ok.
Plan now is to not even bother with dailies, and save up for Sakura. She's just that good.

I deleted my Japan Record Keeper account there recently (still have my global one but the interest barely keeping it). Was hard the first few days but now its easy to not go back. Sunk costs keep you around. For me and Record Keeper it was just time, with money I imagine its even harder to let go...but its only going to get harder. If youre going to drop it now is the time, before it happens again. You cant get the money back but you can stop spending more. Read my post above. If you can adhere to that, keep it.
...but if you do keep it Im giving you an assignment. As soon as you think about spending again delete it and take at least 24 hours off. A timeout for almost spending. If you come back and go to spend again, delete it and give yourself two days off etc. Hopefully that way you wont spend money and if its haunting you that much eventually you wont come back.

Doing both GL and JP raids is becoming difficult. GL is still my main squeeze so I prioritise it, but I've been getting more and more invested in JP lately. I think because there's so much for me to do over there and I've been making good progress of late (Genji Glove acquired, Lunera song at +2, 2 800 attack characters) so I feel the need to play whenever I can. But trying to run 2 raids as often as I am is just not practical irl.
My Aileen there is more powerful than any of my Global characters lol.

Totally know what you mean. Luckily my team can clear ELT with ease, and I don't even have Carbuncle/Odin yet. Just goes to show you where I'm at in the story. It's an awesome feeling to know I can get 5k of lapis by just doing the story, at least for the time being...
