Man, the mood of this thread has changed so much since Nier. It's a bummer, but I can respect if people need to pull away from the game.
Anyway, I was out of town again this weekend at Yosemite, what a gorgeous place. Didn't have much service but the lodge I stayed at had a single Wifi connection in a shared space, so I at least kept my login streak alive.
Digging in to the raid for the first time this morning, what an annoying enemy design. I can 1 turn ELT as soon as he's physically vulnerable, but more often than not, he's weak to magic the first 2 turns. Ah well, easy cactuars and turtles.
What's the consensus on the raid equipment? Anything worth making to longtime players? I haven't looked at any of this stuff yet.

Got a switch literally on Saturday. Already downloaded it yesterday. Haven't had a chance yet, but will try tomorrow. Tonight hopefully I get a Destiny 2 nightfall in.

I don't know about consensus, but the Shantotto gear is very solid for her, if you wanted to level up a couple of her for tornado chaining purposes. I'm trying to get two of each of the gear.
Otherwise, nothing stood out to me as particularly useful.

I just got hit by another one of Gumi's shitty practices. I was 200~ lapis away from being able to do a 10+1 on the banner to try to snag Werei, so I bought that 6.99 labor day special. Went to claim it, and it says I have too few unit slots to claim the 23 cactuar/turtles, so I can't do it unless I spend 200 lapis to increase slots, which negates the lapis I get from the bundle.

Sooo am I mistaken in saying that we were supposed to receive 7 3* Ex tickets for the first day of the fan fiesta rewards? I haven't received any but it seems some people did. I have not missed a login day. Am I missing something here or did I get screwed out of free stuff again??? This is getting annoying.. really annoying.

EggyT0ast's threads on Reddit are generally pretty reliable.
Shark Gun is probably worth making a couple of for Amelia. Galkan Dagger I'd make a couple of as well. Craft at least one Raven Beret. A lance or two, I guess. The character-specific stuff is eh. Shantotto chain antics are fun to watch on YouTube but I'm not sure I'd pull her out for real content at the cost of 3 equipment slots.
I haven't crafted anything yet myself. I'm likely to just do a Raven Beret and a few Galkan Daggers.

It's literally like fusing units. Any non-unit specific moogle can be fused into another and their percentage is added together.
I was there last week. I honestly think it's better to just log in and send gifts then to quit entirely. That's what I did for 2 days just to see if I was ready to leave and now I'm back. Even if you don't feel like playing the game it isn't going anywhere. At least that's how I see it.
Being a casual is where I always wanted to be with this game. I have good units, I have good equipment, I don't always need to strive for the best stuff anymore. And I'm happy for my NRG to sit at full. It makes the game a lot more enjoyable for me. I just play when I feel like playing now. I probably won't be able to day 1 trials anymore but I'm ok with that.
I'll try to post regularly again lol. But as a casual I'm less involved now so I don't really have a lot to say. I just found out what Werei's TM does lmao.
If Gumi is bringing us Ayaka soon maybe they've decided to stop dragging their feet on the power curve. It got totally broken with Nier but releasing Ayaka, Balthier, Cloud and updating Noctis in the next month or so would go a long way to leveling the playing field again.

She basically does everything.
I think her greatest asset is that she dualcast her best spells, which means she can do stuff like (basically) full HP heal and esunaga in the same turn. It's like if Tilith could dualcast. Oh, and she's an MP battery, is immune to the major status ailments, and can cure stop.
So yeah... pretty damn good.
Is and will be the best healer in the game forever, does everything you could possible need for a hard fight, is immune to stop and has probably the best support TM in the entire game.

Maybe I completely misunderstood your post.
I thought Rem's reraise was a spell but looking at it I was wrong, so Ayaka will be our first instance where we can dualcast reraise and something else. That'll make a huge difference in the Aigaon fight.

I neglected the game while on vacation for most part. Family was more important. I just feel like though we keep getting awful banners and awful events that it's hard to go on. Is Gumi banning fun now?
- Moogle fusing will save me ~20 slots. Still holding out hope for the random off-banner Fryevia or for Gumi to come to their senses and put her on an old units banner. The former is more likely than the latter.
- For that matter, FFBE is the only gacha I play where the old units banners are always terrible.
- Skipping Ayaka. CG Fina does almost everything she does and will be post 3% rate change.

I mean, it's on Alim/Gumi for being stupid and tossing so many units on one banner but at the same time, a lot of folks went in hard and without keeping things in check. Gacha games are really no different than gambling so knowing when to ante up and knowing when to fold is really key.

I was mostly referring to really overextending one's self. Nothing wrong with spending your tickets and going in trying to get something but if you aren't having any luck, cutting losses might be the best option.
Double banners are annoying but it's not like it was uncommon. In fact, wasn't the month prior to Nier almost entirely double 4-star banners? Zarg, Lunera, and Dark Veritas all had double 4-star, I think?
At least a triple 5-star banner hasn't happened in GL yet. That sucks even when the rate for the on banner is 1%.

Maybe it's time to change the "Don't chase rainbows" advice to "Don't chase anything!" lol Just take the lemon you get and turn it into a lemonade.
The banner rate for a single 4-star in JP is like 5%. That's 1 in 20 if you're lucky. GL might not be exactly that but in the grand scheme of things, a few percent difference isn't exactly a huge leap. It's still luck.

I'll prob go "all in" for ayaka with my 5k lapis and 20 tickets, as that's pretty much all I have, lol. Still rocking Y'shtola so could really use a better healer. I'd prob be fine with passing up on Ayaka if Garnet already had her 6*, but that's still ways off. Could also use Sylvias and kamui has an alright TM, it's a decent banner to pull on.
It def feels like GL on-banner gold rates are lower than JP's. I've sort of made peace and accepted it. Got a pretty good team together and not too fuzzed about missing out on units.
10-unit trials are a really cool addition, a fresh and challenging take with all the restrictions and switch-in units. Really good rewards too.

Do you make more money selling them or selling their rewards at this point?
Can only have 5 on the field and generally they'll have different stages which somewhat force and encourage you to use different units. Some stages being phys immune, some stages being mag immune. Provoke tanks maybe being favored for specific stages and cover tanks for others and such. Could also just use a dedicated breaker and switch him out for turns where you don't need to use him or prepare a unit with infused element/stacked mag attack, switch em out and switch him back in later when you need them to deal dmg. I suppose sommoners could be used like that too -- switch em in when you need to do big dmg with espers.
These are just some examples.
Or if your original 5 get wiped you could just switch in the next 5...
That's been mine since day 1 (and just about f2p), highly highly highly recommend it.

Congrats to both of you on your {Galka}!
I finally merged enough units to be able to claim my package, did the 10+1 pull and got 1 Werei and a few other TM-able units, nothing spectacular though. Happy anyways, since he's all I wanted for now.
Remembered to cash in my FFIII Mog King stuff, and I have enough crysts now to fully upgrade Elza - What do you think guys? Worth or no? I like her break and that madness rush would be killer for trials where you can't afford to bring 2 chainers. Plus I have a Wind Veritas for the TM so I could get her attack pretty high.
I know at least one of you fully enhanced her.

Alright fine, everyone's nagging won me over. I spent my 5k fangs on cactuars and started to max Soliel. I can afford 1 mil, 6 T4 and 2 T5 tech for 120% all stat buffs. Especially since I'll die of old age before Ramza gets his enhancements. So I just enhance one defensive dance and one offensive dance right? Then alternate them forever?

If only the majority of the thread had my zero fucks given attitude about the Nier banner we'd still have a relatively happy and healthy community Fuck limited time cross overs.
Anyway, agree that it's been garbage event after event lately but I look forward to the season finale of the story and I've been hoarding for Ayaka so can't wait for her to hit. She should be the last unit I care about for a while, certainly before the rainbow change. TMs might be an exception though, we'll see. So when should we expect this story event to hit? This month, right? Also, I wonder if they'll continue the main story into Season 2 right away, as in the first chapter next month or if there will be a break. Considering the content is already available, don't see why we should need a break so hopefully there won't be.
Sazh is over the halfway mark with his TM, soon enough I'll be able to create my ultimate evasion Noctis, soon. I'm back to having over a 100% of trust moogles saved up so ready for the next time an amazing TM comes out. That moogle fusion will be a god send. I'd like to level up Tetra but I think I'd better just save my magicites for Bahamut who I believe is next. I'm thinking I should start using the Phantom Forest for the exploration daily, especially with the half off on NRG right now.

Yeah hard to say. Gumi has completely thrown out any sense of a regular schedule. It could be a nothing-week with or without an edited Noctis banner to best match what JP got. It could be the FFXV mog king event. It could actually be the Ayaka story event since we haven't had one of those recently either. I'd be most excited for a global-exclusive event and it's been ages since one of those hit. It'll probably be some "Intern's Choice" bs with Queen, Lightning, Nine, Meliadoul, Eight, and Summer Lid because screw you, but who can say?
Actually, I say they surprise everyone and release a second raid. Give us FFXIV and make use choose where to spend our orbs. Nobody will expect that shit.
