I mean if your resources are low then I guess that logic makes sense. How much do you have to work with, and how much are you planning to spending on the Nier banner?

Visceir has said in the past that GL players over-hoard and he's probably right. If you have a good amount of resources I don't see any point completely skipping the banner if you want the units, or if you're at the point where you're only real goal is boosting your overall power via BiS and/or unit roster depth.

Gumi announcing Nier was such a mistake. They should have just announced it like every other banner, or released shortly after the announcement.

I confirm Roy is the ''worst bard''. He has that flexibility of AoE full break and one turn attack/defense songs but I rather go all in with full buffs every single turn than combo his skills until we unlock the full song. His LB is great though...

Ugh, someone call Gumi, the announcements guy is drunk again and accidentally posted the Veritas banner early.

For real though, Dark Veritas would go perfectly with my existing team (Orlandu and DKC) but on a double 5* banner there's just no point even trying. I'll spend maybe 10ish tickets with the dailies to get Tim and hopefully a Victoria or two. Rixa making very good points that even treating this like a TM banner provides limited improvements at a high price.

The thing with Nier is, I don't care about how the characters fit into the meta, I just like them. You can load as much bullshit as you want on that banner Gumi, as long as they are still Nier characters I'll go for them (and I'm not going to stop saving until you release the damn thing).

Bet you Balthier comes back on the Ayaka banner. Of all the single 5* banners left hers is the one that would hurt the most. Too many people want her to just "let" her be on a single 5* banner (as if that somehow guarantees her). On the other hand, then people would want both of them so maybe put him on the banner people care least about: Duke.

Kinda agree for now, his LB is what most JP players used after all (over the final song) so you kinda build him like Rikku.
With Ramza/Lunera you're instantly set.

His enhancements might be really good but is an unknown variable until they release it.

The word you're looking for there is hoping, not betting. The best you can expect is Eve on the raid banner and A2 5* on the normal banner. Granted my predictions lately have been pretty trash... :thinking:

For King Mog events, it depends on how many bonus units you have. If you have plenty of bonus units, then it's worth buying more stuff.

In general, I prioritize King Mog events in this rough order:
- Tickets
- Event-exclusive weapons or materia (Read Reddit or GAF for advice. generally, if the weapon has an elemental damage on it, then get it. Special effects like evade or LB up are good too.)
- (cheap) 6 star awakening materials
- Star Quartz
- Sacred Crystals (not lately since I have enough)
- Cactaurs (buy only a few at a time, otherwise you will have too many units)
- Giancrysts (depending on my whim. focus on Power, Support, Tech.)
- LB pots

The general consensus is that Purecrysts are not worth it.

As for story, keep in mind that the story sticks around and you can do whenever you want. But there are some nice items locked behind story vaults, so it's worth doing over time as well.

During raid events, it uses a different set of orbs, so you should have plenty of unused NRG for story.

I think (but may be wrong) that this banner was double 5* in JP too so I don't think Gumi are doing anything differently. However this leads me to believe that A2 and Eve are very unlikely to be in the raid gacha now. It seems double 5* banners are here already.

Note that before this I was very much in the belief that they were in the raid gacha. But maybe that was hope more than anything lol.

JP has had several dual 5* banners that they have split up for GL. Tidus and Wilhelm were first released on the same banner, as was Emperor and Marie, and the original Delita and Ramza (also Noctis came with Gladiolus but that doesn't count because we still haven't got Glad).

Interesting thing is, Tidus came with Wilhelm originally, I'm not sure how well the banner did, as the following month they also released another Tidus banner with him as the sole 5*. GL has historically split up 5* units for us. The exception has been limited time units on Halloween and Brave Frontier. This seems to have changed.

It should also be remembered, as everyone is focused on Nier, that Onion Knight is right around the corner (and should arrive before Veritas of Light banner). If JP schedule should be trusted at all, It should be the next one after FF11.

And if the FF11 raid comes next week, then we should assume that Nier Raid and Gacha will be delayed till next month, or vis versa; meaning that Onion Knight may come in a couple weeks.

Hmm that's a good point. I didn't think of/acknowledge that. I'm actually not sure what their mindset is. If they had never split banners before then we wouldn't ever have expected them to. But they have so why not on this banner? Maybe it's because DV is more popular than FV, and so on a split banner one would get pulled on more. I haven't really heard many people talking about FV, but a lot of people talk about DV. I do think we're going to have double 5*s from here on out though. I can see them reworking the upcoming schedule to make it so.

I'm going to get RD. I don't know if I'll use it but it's one of those things where I might as well pick it up. The regenerator's mod is really low, and the Nier TM is just better so there's no point.

In all honesty, probably easier to actually have them. You know they aren't potted and when they are you can pot them exactly as you need to. Can show them with F2P gear and with premium gear without having to rely on person having the premium gear. And cordinating to have it set up a certain way. I can totally understand about actually havving them.

His overall kit shits all over Orlandu. His damage is slightly lower, but not enough to matter, and everything else he does makes him amazing. His TM also isn't shit tier like Orlandu. Of course if you have Orlandu and DV they chain perfectly, and you can do a double element and wreck shit. I am going to bet JPN gets enhancements for him and flame next time they get them. Can't wait to see what they do.

I wouldn't mind two Dark Veritas for the sake of all-dark chaining with DKC finisher; Chaining with Orlandeau would become hybrid holy-dark, and reduce damage DKC enhanced Soul Eater finisher can do in holy-dark setup.

Fire Veritas, I wouldn't care for more than one of him given he's a finisher.
