First fifty pull of the fest nets me my first healer bsb and 2x celes sword, which I'm very pleased with. Now have both hers and exdeaths runics which is awesome, he tore up himself in the last event with meltdown after meltdown now it's snowspell after snowspell.
Used the free mc3 on yshtola figuring it's worth it even if I fail to pull her bsb in 3-5 pulls tonight and later, since I have her wall. I've been leveling cores so it's good to have another real character to take exp gains.

I guess it's still hard for me as a "new" player to distinguish mediocre, good, and great pulls. I've heard Runic is highly situational but not make or break (plus I already have one), and then there's 2 medicas (even though I already have a better one than the FFT one) and an SB for someone I've never heard of with only 4 attacks and no burst.
Eiko's BSB is unquestionably good though.

Situational relics are worth their weight in gold when those situations pop up. Medica with magic or physical blink are also top tier even in an era of bsb medica. Same with stat sticks in ff1, 2, and 11
The Cactaur trees have reappeared in Japan. Missed those crazy bastards. First orbfest run and a cactaur tree dropped 12 greater orbs.
We should have had those the orbfest before this one in global. They seem to not be putting them in in global at all.
Missing a few elements of this current orbfest too. In Japan there was a separate UI that had the Roulette, Orbfest, Music Dungeon, Fat Chocobo Boss (I think) and another dungeon that I can't place. It's very simplified in Global.

Boy, I'm having good luck with major orbs today, if this continues ima have to drop another five mythril.
about 5-6 mythril down so far this morning, so far only one 1 major power. 2 or so Wind and already 5 or 6 Major Black.
I'm telling you, I have 300 Greater Black and 46 Major Black. Meanwhile Power Orbs....sigh.
Edit: Overall, I've gone from 72 mythril to currently 26 mythril, and I've gotten I think about 10-12 total Major Power Orbs.
I'm ok with burning the Mythril, I have over 25mil gold (never had that much before), and there isn't a single character that isn't max level. As for relics, I always get dupes that I can't use except for 5stars of course and I'm about done with gacha on this game until my dupes are no longer useless. Summon Orbs and Power Orbs are going to be the FFRK-Death of me.
I recently started playing FFXIV and I love how I know how to defeat all the raid bosses so far because of Record Keeper lmao.

I think I'm done with phase 3. Technically i was hoping for about 20 more black, but I'm too tired to continue. I got in about 80 refreshes during phase 3, 120 total since orbfest started. I still need some lightning and NE so I'll be doing another 20-30 refreshes, then take finally take a break
Total during phase 3 i got about 75 major power (assuming i convert up from 3* and 4*)

I did an 11 pull last night in hopes of getting Celes' runic and ended up getting it, Maria's BSB, and 2 White Robes for that FF3 guy. Pretty happy with it the pull personally.
What makes Maria's BSB so good? I'm still a bit of a noob with this game as I've only recently have characters reach lvl 80.

It's by far the highest Mage DPS burst in the game.
At 973 mag, command 1 hits 6 times. Command 2 helps her get there with a magical AoE Stitch in Time effect (mag up/res down) that easily stacks with other mag buffs and gets EnEarth on top of that.
Others may seem more useful as a whole like OK or Cid Raines BSB's, but Maria's is queen of DPS.
Keep in mind that both Papalymo will get his Fire variant of this BSB in the XIV event that's launching in less than 4hrs (but on Banner 2), as well as Edea with her Ice variant later on.
I'm going to pull once on banner 1 and then evaluate based on what I get. I already have a handful of other FFXIV relics (only one dupe on banner 1 I think though), and FFXIV is not a common realm. There's some really really good shit on there, but it's mostly chasing a couple relics. It's a great banner but I'm not sure that it's worth it to go in really hard on it unless you're already super well geared/whaling in general, or you're pretty new and relics (regardless of realm) are going to be good for you. I'm in an awkward spot where a couple things on there would be amazing for me, but it's also probably not worth more than 2 pulls at the most (and 2 is all I will be able to must probably before it goes away, maaaybe 3).

Thanks for the fast reply. 973 mag eh? I didn't think stats could go up that high even with synergy and all. Very interesting to know. I've been leveling up random characters in orbfest so Maria will be next. I don't really have great black magic though so I guess I'll have to work on that too.
I wanted to pull on the next OSBfest banner but if FF14s relics are that good I'll have to check them out.
On a happier note I changed my strategy and absolutely destroyed Bartz ultimate+ after suffering many embarrassing defeats last night. FeelsGoodMan
I'm not sure if I can do Primal Exdeath though but at 1sta it's worth a try.
It's 973 after buffs. It's achievable, but even if you don't get there there is a lower threshold for 4 hits.
The 6-hit mark is 1032. Papalymo and Edea have similar BSBs, though their thresholds are higher as a tradeoff for being more useful elements (fire/NE and ice/dark, respectively).

3 11 pulls as planned. 3 Thyrus (meh), 1 Omnirod, 1 Shield, 1 Gloves. Then I almost shat my pants when I saw Circlet with one 5* to go on my last pull... Dupe Circlet! How to make you happy and unhappy at the same time, FFRK style.

I can't complain, I wanted the book and her wall and I can RW a medica just fine.
But I hate my luck lol. Always depleting my mythril every 4-5 months.

Sure. Minfilia is a great damage-focused support and Alph's SSB is one of the better 610 (ATK/MAG) buffs.

It's the same ATK/MAG buff, so yes in that regard.
Reflect Damage isn't as good of a secondary effect as Haste and it obviously lacks OK's really good burst commands, though.

Veil of Wiyu is a beast. Aside from Healer's Circlet, it's one of the two "main prizes". You have 5 uniques though, so your chance of dupes has gone up somewhat, so unless you're comfortable chasing the rainbow I'd call it here if i were you.

Man I can't believe I got dupes of the only two items I had on the banner lol. I'm kinda salty, but mostly only because this banner hits in basically the only two week window all year that I can't do gem pulls 
. Glad to see folks are having mostly good luck here though! I'll have enough mythril before it ends to do another pull but I'll probably just hoard for FFT.

Wanted the book so much but I got everything on the banner but Min BSB, Book and the Doublet, can't pull anymore. Now I am set for WHM BSB with Eiko, Y'shtola and Vanille. Also set for Mage shout with OK BSB, Papa's Glove and Braska's Robe. In fact, my team didn't get much stronger with this, just more versatile I guess.
Oh right, still need hastega.
I'm just wondering if I should keep pulling. lol
Well, Y'shtola and Alph have among the best BSBs for healers and mages, respectively, and your possible consolation prizes include wall and last stand SBs.
Mostly a question of where you think you're lacking currently.
2nd Ann, probably. There's some good stuff on Fuijin/Raijin though.

Magemeta is where I'm completely dying, although I'm also lacking good physical bursts.
Then again, that 30% null damage thing seems like the next upgrade to Wall and I'm worried that you'll need that to beat the high end content later on.
