Magemeta is where I'm completely dying, although I'm also lacking good physical bursts.
Then again, that 30% null damage thing seems like the next upgrade to Wall and I'm worried that you'll need that to beat the high end content later on.

The 30% thing is more of an upgrade to healing mechanics than mitigation ones. It isn't meant to supplant wall effects.

Despite the presence of Alph's burst this actually isn't a great mage banner. Papalymo's SSB is really the only other mage relic on it.

If you want to swing hard for mage relics I would recommend waiting and trying a pull on the Summoner Nightmare banner coming up.

Vanille and Y'sh's BSBs are both among the best for healers, though they are different enough that one or the other may be better in some situations. If you have Vanille's you're honestly already pretty set for healing bursts.

Yeah, this is a really awesome consolation prize in addition to what you pulled. The stats are awesome for an attacker great atk and defense with Rs 50 atk damn.

I did 5 pulls

1st pull: 2x papa gloves (ok, this is gonna be a salty night)

2nd pull: 2x thyrus (ugh, it really is gonna be a sucky new years eve night)

3rd pull: Minfilia's bsb, and alphinaud's book, (thereitis.gif)

4th pull: Alphinaud's coat and Ysh's healer robe

5th pull: ysh'tola bsb

I stopped here, I was gonna do 1 last one if I didnt get Ysh's bsb, for 6 total pulls.

I used 150 mythrils and bought a leviathan pack. Gonna save rest of my gems for a couple pulls into Cid Raines banner and save all mythrils for FFT.

So I finished the rest of Orbfest for some extra mythrils. With 6/9 on banner, its really risky of me pulling a 1/11 dupe. It can bite me in the ass, but I still did a yolo 5th pull.

I'm more surprised that I got no dupes from what I had before. With 5 pulls, I got everything on the banner except for Y'shtola's BSB lol. I do have enough for a 6th pull, but no way I'm doing it with having 8/9 relics on banner.

Catgirl will just have to wait another day, another time.

It's desired mostly because it has a 620 buff (DEF/MAG) attached and those are fairly rare.

It's excellent but I wouldn't call it game changing, and it's not so head and shoulders above every other healer BSB that you need to sell out for it.

If you feel in dire need of a healing BSB you can think about targeting one of these banners over the next few months:

Got the DMG reflect Evoker's Doublet from a 1x 11-pull, so not amazing but I'm pretty happy.

Only other drop was the party-wide Esuna Medica, which isn't really useful to me but eh... it's situational so I don't mind having it in the vault.

I'm F2P and still have about 130 Mythril so we'll see if my resolve holds. I'm telling myself I'm done but I might pull again later this week.

Your team should be either 4 offensive fighters and a healer or 4 mages and a healer. Breakdowns, lifesiphon, and other 5 star abilities for physical teams; mage teams get 4-5 star aja/chain spells and dances.

Spam to fill ssb/bsb/osb and nuke the boss down when they get into a dangerous phase.

I'm getting a little bit more serious about putting together a solid team now but it's hard to know where to start! Can you give me some examples of staples?

I'm almost spoiled for choice - I have 6 BSBs and the 1 Terra OSB I mentioned, plus around 15 more SSBs, and I'm not sure which I should prioritize in a MAG-based battle or PHYS-based battle.

A few seem like no Brainers - Setzer's Fixed Dice lowers an enemy's RES a lot, which I think stacks with Break effects, so that's nice for Magic battles. Braska's Summoner's Dream reduces cast time and boosts MAG... Evoker's Doublet boosts ATK and MAG... it's hard to know what stacks and what doesn't. And as I said, it's hard to know how to get started!

In the case of the Frost Ultimate specifically (the first one I wanna get serious about tackling) - I happen to have Blathier's Aldebaran SSB, which lowers Fire Resistance. I haven't tried it yet but that plus MAG buffs and RES debuffs should be... a lot of fire damage.
