2/11 Aphmau and Zeid SSBs
Yeah, I'm only packing breaks when a character has nothing else to do (in this case, I'm carrying dances on Rikku who's really only there to cast her USB). Every little bit helps... in theory anyway.
Savage Earth Shaker in particular is piercing magic damage, so breaks are the only choice for mitigating it at all.
Full break and power breakdown (14% reduction, I think) leads to nearly 10% less damage. It's not great. The huge break resistance means you're not getting their offensive stats down the enemy sortcap (~346 atk would you believe it*) which is why the atk drop % tracks ahead of the damage %.I thought breaks were virtually useless against these guys?
Earth resist accessories are a much better choice for mitigating it. Also magic blinks if you have them.
Rikku has access to five elements so bringing two dances on her to a magicite boss seems like a waste.
I tried her with Dash 'n' Slash and it's like sub 1000 damage against Golem (and none once he gets the shield up). Since I'm focusing on magic buffs (Alphinaud and Fujin are my damage dealers), I figure better to give her a dance even if it only helps minimally.
I actually tried Golem yesterday, but couldn't even get close so i definitely need to adjust my party.
Onion: bsb, aff. break+wrath, dmt rm
Larsa: bsb, protectga+curaise, ace striker rm
Zidane: enWind ssb/bsb/osb, life siphon+dash&slash, +dmg rm
Alphinaud: enWind bsb, shellga+curaja, +dmg rm
Fujin: enWind ssb/bsb, wrath+raging storm, battleforged rm
I got Golem to slightly under 50% hp before i wiped with this set up, but it took a long time (was already over 1.00).
I thought magic Wind was the way to go since Golem has a physical-only stoneskin, was only bringing Zidane for his imperil bsb. However, Alphinaud was doing crap damage, barely reaching 3.2k per hit of cmd1 after 2 imperil stacks were up.
I'm thinking of dropping Fujin and bringing Yuna for healing/sage buff bsb. Or I might switch to a physical party, as Zidane was popping Golem's stoneskin on his own fairly quickly. I could also try a wrath+entrust party with Zidane osb spam.
From what I recall Golem is supposed to be among the harder bosses in this set, if not the hardest.
Hrm, gotta try to add some RW Alpha BSB friends I guess.You bring your Alph and a RW Alph for 2 other Summoners, so you have some moves when it runs out...and you win, easily. The 8x wind Summon...that's the one I used. Really one of the easier Nightmare dungeons...second one I beat.
First off: I love how active the OT got just because of the magicite dungeons. See this is what I was talking about last week. Interesting content that is challenging and you can talk about.
I don't know what your magic stat is. But mine was pretty low with Alphinaud (compared to dungeons with realm synergy). He has like 440 magic. With one faithga and his burst mode that's around 660 magic. The soft cap is beyond 1000. So yeah you aren't even close to that. And a dmg+ RM is only good if you can hit the softcap else I would prefer a magic+ RM. Maybe drop Zidane for another faithga and try it again. I used Fujin and Alphinaud with 2 faithgas (Rikku USB & Garnet's SSB2) as well as a magic+ RM. Time at the end was a little bit over one minute and two dead characters on my side. But overall I also felt like the damage was pretty low. Still have to try him with a physical team. Too bad that we can only do one dungeon per day.
I too want to know the answer but the in-game help says "you can still get the benefits of Magicite Effects by equipping a Sub Magicite without a Main Magicite but you will not be able to unleash a Magicite esper during the battle" and the fact the sub menu shows the effects implies these boosts still apply and are passive.Would I not get that passive boost if it's not the main magicite?
Check who else that you might consider who uses the 5* motes she does (VIT+DEX). For example, me starting to dive her means I can not dive Fran or Zidaine for instance because there is a clash with VIT and DEX motes, respectively.Second kill on Bismark was a lot smoother, 1:01 with mastery. I have both of Lightning's SSBs and her USB; is it worth legend diving her? That would be the gateway to significantly reduced time on this fight.

Okay. So another question. Is there limits to the boosts and do they stack. I have a Ice Defend Lvl 1 on a toon and Lvl 3 Defense on Sea Lion. Do those stack? And what's the limit of these stacks if they do?

I only have her USB, a very old SSB and the first en-element ever (thankfully obsolete) and I dove her...at least up to +lightning damage part because I've not been doing torments so lack the motes. USB+Thundering twinstike is a very potent damage combo (unless a boss absorbs lightning) though in this age of omni resist I've not tried it without triple imperil on an A+ boss first (which might be overkill). I do however have an 8* +Lightning damage armour (Raijin's Pauldron) and did fully augment the 6* Razor Carbine (202 Atk).
If there a way to do the Curada nightmare that isn't that annoying as f*ck ghetto hot potato? Should I just brute force it? Last one I need for magicite but never got around to it cause the mechs drive me nuts, especially when the UI hasn't been aligned properly with the buttons for the last 2 android updates.

I tried doing it the puzzle way yesterday, but then got tired of it being too strict on timing (and it taking way too long in general) and just DPS'd the thing down instead. Had Selphie, Vanille, Yuna (SUM) BSB and RW Alph BSB for my other two characters.
Identical effects stack with exponentially diminishing returns.
You get the full value from the highest level effect, half from the second highest, a fourth from the third highest, an eighth from the fourth highest, and a sixteenth from the lowest. All the values are then added together and rounded up to the nearest whole integer.
So if you have 5 espers with ice resist of levels 10, 8, 7, 5, and 2, you get:
10 + 8/2 + 7/4 + 5/8 + 2/16 = 16.5 -> 17% resist
