Won't even take two years, IMO.

Do you put your computer in the closet when you're done using it or something?
We're talking about the importance of voice chat. You pretty much always have the option to voice chat on PC. You don't have that option on the PS3. Couple that with your many other anti-console comments, and I don't understand where your confusion is coming from.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but I was under the impression that it was true.
I could be very wrong.
It's not confirmed yet, but that's what SE are trying to do, but they need Sony's consent since the game would be on the PSN store, etc.
It's likely that PS3 players will get some sort of discount to upgrade, but they didn't flat-out say it'd be free.Correct me if I'm wrong, but I was under the impression that it was true.

In two years we all are going to hate the fact this game was on ps3. I already do to be honest. PS2 limited XI and PS3 will limit this game. It probably already has. :'(
Will not matter. For the entire life of this game, it will have to be designed around the PS3.
I will hate it so much. Hopefully it won't limit the game too much.
That was my main in DCUO as well. I imagine that term was coined in WoW... streamlining all the support type classes into doing one thing.
Does FFXIV even have such a class? All I see is tank, healer and dps.

It did on FFXI because of the PS2.
They already said stuff like different animations for races were limited becuase of ps3, or something around those lines. I expect to see tons of identicle weapons and armors just like ffxi.
Gonna call for a citation on that. Not because I don't believe you, but rather because I'd like to see their own words, to see if I can possibly discern what the limiting factor is.
Please add a list that shows what monster is attacking which party member.
Continuing to Discuss
Since there is too much information being displayed for the PS3 version, we don't plan on adding this as-is, but we will continue to look into it.
I'd really like to see more than one page of my inventory at a time.

We are continuing to look into this, but due to issues because of PS3 icon display memory as well as gamepad mode control user friendliness this is extremely difficult.
Except for perhaps environment size, it shouldn't limit things too much.
That's just mentioning PS3 specifically by name. There are very many other posts about limitations that don't mention PS3 specifically.

Wait, is my memory off, or weren't they showing which monsters were attacking which party members in the PC version already?
I only remember seeing that when I target the mob or player and it shows the other on the end of the HP bar.
This.
I don't get the PS3 Doom Speak: besides zone size, what exactly will be the limitation? Come PS4 and DX11 client, we'll be running the game on basically a different engine, able to do whatever-the-hell with graphics over and above PS3. What gameplay is bottlenecked by PS3?
So: UI
One of the things I wish they'd do is put the zone name over the zone line ala FFXII.
The PS3 limiting factor is memory size, that's why I hope with the PS4 (and even DX11 client) they change the UI a bit. It doesn't really matter if there's 2 different UIs in the game, as far as the gameplay is not affected then the lower settings (both PS3 and PC) shouldn't hold back higher systems.
The game is build on DX9, the DX11 client will probably the same as the PS4 version.
Would I be missing out on much if I played this game on PS3? I don't really want to lug out my desktop to play a game that I could play on my already set up console.
I got many more answers the 2nd time. Your point is?

This has been suggested numerous times. It was in FFXII so I don't get why it's not in FFXIV.
Is anyone aware of a method to transfer gil and items across two of your own characters on the same server?
It seems like the mail/delivery system completely prevents this but I'm curious if the market boards would work as a way to circumvent the system.
I dunno, just seems like a strange design decision to not be able to mail items or gil to an alt when the primary incentive to even have one would be as a secondary source of storage.

Except for perhaps environment size, it shouldn't limit things too much. The gap between PC's and the PS3, is a whole lot smaller than the gap than the gap between PC's and the PS2. I'm not talking in terms of power of course, more, in terms of how each platform tends to approach the creation of their visuals.
Comes out on the first.Weren't they going to release a character maker? I wanna work on my character's design![]()

Correct. I know I already do.
What makes the current tiny environment size a small problem? That is a major big deal to me. The needing loading between the zones is another. Because of the ps3 their choices were the copy pasted shitfest from 1.0, or the small closed off world of ARR. Both are terrible and anyone that defends either should feel bad.
Yeah, it'll work; the pre-order code is separate from the game and CE game registration code. So, I'm a 1.0 CE owner.
I don't get early access, but I do get the digital CE goods at no additional charge.
Can I go and preorder a normal edition and use that preorder code for the preorder bonus goods and early access, while still also getting the 2.0 CE goods? I'm just wondering if it's going to cancel out the 2.0 stuff if I do. I want to be there on the 20th.

Because even on a Chocobo it takes several minutes to go from one end and area to another. When I finally do, it only takes about ten seconds to load the new area.
So i simply dont have much oppertunity to notice.
You can preorder the PS3 version and register it to the 30 days free play period after early access instead of the two weeks other returning players get.Thank you so much!
Gonna preorder a normal edition first thing tomorrow.
Look. I don't really want to call you out or anything, but do you play mmorpgs often? A minute to cross a zone is...pathetic. Made even more so when it is a direct guided path. This is a genre that it is normal to have bigger open world without much loading, even in games from a literal decade ago. To expect the same out of a game that you plan on spending a long long time in isn't asking too much, it's asking the norm. I've said this a lot, I understand the reasons why they had to make the choices that they did, but that doesn't mean I like them, and they will continue to be limiting factor on this game for it's entire lifespan.
Also, it is fine if the problem doesn't bother you directly. Just don't downplay the significance that the gameworld plays in this type of game.
