Curses. I just upgraded to the latest Nvidia beta prior to phase 4. I'm still getting black screens so I guess I'll try this upgrade too. It seems like they're better optimized anyway.

Oh I did not know you could do that. Really can't stand most of the english voice acting in this game, on the other hand it's so damn cheesy it's almost comedy gold.

In all of my years browsing the site, this certainly is the prettiest OT I've seen. :)



Now I'm wondering if SCH is really only ARC and CNJ. Trying to get Meia ready to be both a WHM and SCH, seems I'd only need to level 3 classes for that instead of the 4 I was expecting(CNJ to 30 for WHM gets me one of the SCH requirements).


+1 about not knowing I could switch to JP voices, doing that the second I can as well.

Ultros Mumble server is back to 100 slots. If you'd like to donate directly to its upkeep, you can do so at the link on the welcome message.

Be aware that you can only pay per 1, 3, 6 and 12 months. 100 slots is 32/month and there are discounts for the other options.

Awesome, will download the AMD one for my 7970 and tell my friend to download the nVidia one for her 560.

Amazing OT! I'm starting to get interested in this game and may get it for the PS4 when it launches. However, I'm confused about the subscription model because there's 4 different prices and they all say "Monthly Price" but next to the $12.99 price it says 180 days for the subscription length?

I think it means you'll be locked in for 180 days (6 months) and will pay 12.99 per month. The less guaranteed time you lock into, the more you pay.

These unsearchable image based OPs are so freaking annoying. Particularly for those of us that browse GAF on our phones more than anywhere else nowadays.

I hope they come to their senses and allow you to scale the dialogue boxes and map UI, just like you can with every other element. PC on my TV, and it's almost a perfect setup, but I can't believe they didn't think about those two.

They didn't "forget" about the mini-map; they mentioned it was too resource heavy to change it's size in some post somewhere.

Everyone who previously registered a copy of FFXIV 1.0 is considered an owner of the Windows version of ARR and does not need to buy the game again (nor can they register another Windows version) under that account. If registered during 1.x, they also qualify for the Welcome Back Campaign. This means they can play for free until September 9th. Added subscription time is only used after that date.

I registered a copy of 1.0 but I didn't sub beyond the intial free month. I'm guessing that doesn't make me legacy (according to the flowchart) and I'll need to buy ARR?

Till today i still dont know wich class i want to play.

I love a tank, but hate the responsibility.
I love dps, but thats standard and their will probably be hundreds of BLM and DRG.
I never ever played as a healer class, is a healer fun to play.

I also like to choose classes that are least played.
I thought about making an archer and then a bard.

Does anybody have a graph that show the most and least played classes.
And do you think that a bard would be viable for dungeons and asked often in parties ?

Help me guys !

You're not "legacy," but you don't need to buy the game again. You get it for free. You kinda answered your own question with your first sentence.

I had initially thought that Veteran rewards were only for 1.0 characters, but it's actually everyone that subscribes for a certain period? Well, that makes me happy. I really wanted that pointy hand.

Just the font. I can see the map well, I just can't read a damn thing from a couch.

If you don't want responsibility, you probably won't like healing.

Hmm. PS3 or PC? I love the thought of playing this on my couch but I just can't fathom pressing a bunch of different skills and targeting on the DS3.

That's a relief. Those errors were pretty much dealbreakers for a lot of people. I hope that in fixing these, they don't break something else.

Now if they can get their early access codes and websites working properly, I can enter the game relatively worry free.

You can be every class at once on one character in this game. So why not try them all and keep the one you like the most?
