Thanks guys!
They didnt seem like wanting to LB on heart. I didnt understand it, Titan still had like 40% of healt in the second gaol.

Relating to endgame gear grind, this was posted on Reddit recently:

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet...ZnZmYkJJejlvY3d1c25ucVdQYXc&usp=sharing#gid=0

It covers the cost of buying Darklight vs buying Tomestone items to have crafted into 2-star armor. While the majority of armor is more expensive crafted, there are a couple exceptions in tank chest/head and leg/feet combos pieces, and the healer/mage robes that are actually cheaper. In addition crafted 2-star with appropriate materia is usually better than Darklight, and tomestone items can be bought from other players.

It's not going to work for everyone, since you need to find a crafter with a very good chance of making the item HQ (as the NQ is near-useless), and tomestone items are very expensive (40-50k right now) but it is an alternate route to CM grinding. On my Warrior I avoided a lot of the grind by crafting both the tank combo pieces, though this was back when tomestone items were around 10k each.

The cost difference between classes is absolutely absurd.

Why on earth would they make the darklight accessories the cheapest, and the crafted ones super expensive? So dumb.

How bad are Ultros' logging queues during peak-hours?

I've been thinking of changing to Ultros as there is nothing binding me to Cerberus.
But seeing Ultros being mentioned as one of the highest populated servers in Yoshi-p's message has me a bit worried.

On the other hand, I am from EU so that might lessen the problem a bit.

Logging queues are basically non-existent for me on Ultros. I mean occasionally there's a queue of 10-15 people but even then I'm logged in within 30 seconds.

Just unlocked Brayflox's Longstop, lets do this! Why does everyone say this part is hard? Its been super easy so far in all the dungeons I've been in. Gear check? Cause most of my gear has materia slots, but I have no materia whatsoever in them. lol

I'm currently going through this weird dissonance where running through Brayflox with my BRD was really easy, but now I'm trying with my WHM and I've failed twice.

Man, I'm starting to just do Titan runs for the amusement than the win. So many people are terrible or really fucking laggy.

Pretty crazy how bad some people seem to lag. Heard a tank on TS basically say that no one was moving on his screen the entire fight.

Almost makes me feel bad because I have never had a single lag issue. Which is interesting because Ifrit and Garuda don't seem to have these issues. Is it the instance itself?

Might as well try. And how come you need someone to put materia in a slot? I was going to look at the billboard, but not if I even have to find someone to fix some on me, when most likely the gear will be replaced fast. Is materia end game or something? Then why is it on level 30ish gear?

It can depend on how well geared the tank is and how they handle damage mitigation. Some tanks just take tons of damage and are hard to keep up, even when you pop cooldowns.

Ifrit and Garuda have them for people too, it's just not so obvious as Titan. In Titan if you have some lag or latency you are a dead man walking if you don't know the fight.. The other fights a second or two of lag is fine. That said, if you actually know the rotations for each phase in Titan, you can do it even with lag. I had ridiculous lag yesterday, along with half my group, and was able to heal it on my WHM fine. As long as you start dodging when you know stuff will happen instead of waiting to see the tell you are golden.

I was actually having terrible lag in Garuda yesterday. Unfortunately for me I am the tank. I was getting by until after she summoned the cyclone in the middle and disappears. She never reloaded for me. The adds did but she did not. I could see the threat lines and her beating on me but could not actually see or target her. Happend twice in a row before I gave up.

It's probably the servers. They went to shit last night both inside and outside instances and it seemed to be reoccurring an hour or so ago as well.

Well, it's the first dungeon I ever wiped in...because the healer crashed going into the end boss. We still almost beat it, and the second attempt was easy.

I was the tank and sorta overgeared for a level 34 though. Grand company stuff and some drops from Haukke, plus a couple more upgrades in the instance as we did it. Just make sure people get broken out of bubbles on the salamander boss and the healer knows to cure poison on the end boss, it seemed quite straightforward to me.

I really don't see how you'd be expected to be using materia at this point, on a first character.

I just cleared that the other day on my PLD and with my WHM gf healing. Two wipes, but both were due to mistakes on our part rather than gear checks. I was doing it with pure quest gear, so it doesn't require anything super good. The last boss' red ground attack did something like 90-95% damage to me in one shot though, so the tank absolutely has to avoid that. It was the cause of one of our wipes and was entirely my fault.

It's rough in that stuff hits pretty hard in this dungeon, but IMO it's not grueling but just unforgiving. The tank can't make any big mistakes in the end boss fight and has to carefully handle boss positioning. DPS has to keep from pulling aggro + burst down adds properly, the casters have to sleep monsters to mitigate damage, etc. It's not so much hard but rather the damage from the monsters forces your party to co-operate and play consistently.

I'll probably run it again in a few days. I got a few pieces of good gear there.

Just healed it with my CNJ and it was hard as hell but we managed lol.

The hardest part for me is that everything hits so hard. I always end up running out of MP, especially in the last boss fight where, in my last two runs, the tanks couldn't dodge his beam.

I've always wondered this: How do you sleep adds when you have a WAR tank? I've tried but either I time the sleep too early and they get woken up by his AoE, or the tanks are taking so much damage that I have to start healing.

Things are so much simpler as a BRD lol. I might start leveling my GLD more so I can see how it is as a tank.

Can you knock a mob back with fluid aura first then sleep it so that it'll sleep out of range of the WAR's AOEs?

Communicate to the Warrior tank that you will be sleeping adds/trash. Sleep them after the first Overpower when the tank has all the adds/trash. If the Warrior is observant, he will stop using Overpower, maybe throw out a Flash or two, and proceed to single target threat. If he keeps chaining Overpowers, then he probably wasn't going to listen to you anyway.

Re-subbing for 90 more days today. I'm having a great time especially with the people I met over the month. I hope the end-game grinding doesn't kill my enthusiasm too much.

Have a question I've been pondering. Do different mounts have different bgm when you ride them or is it always the chocoboo theme? I can't see my self riding the eyeball thingy to that music lol

I absolutely had to dodge the beam every time since it did so much damage (90-95% of my health bar the one time I ate it. I died at the next poison tick, and the party soon followed).

On the second attempt, I dodged the beam every time and slowly led the boss along the edge of the room to give us plenty of space to work with to avoid the poison pools. My healer said she had no mp problems whatsoever that fight because no one was taking damage except for me, and I was cycling my defensive cooldowns so that I never took too much damage at once.

As for sleeping adds, I'm not sure because I've never played a warrior tank, but I'm inclined to think it's the warrior's job to make sure to position himself so that he doesn't break sleep. Warriors can get Flash too, so maybe they can jsut hold off on the AOE skills and simply use Flash to maintain aggro from the slept monster while hitting whatever is still awake?

Is there still crazy bad lag on the instances today? Made dungeons nearly impossible last night, did they fix it?

Chickdigger, you are probably thinking of THM/BLM Blizzard 2.

Disabling the chocobo music was the best decision I've ever done. It gets so tiresome after a while.

In terms of dungeon difficulty, how much of a step up are Cutter's Cry, Stone Vigil, and Darkhold from the previous dungeons? Have them all unlocked and at level 42 so ready to jump in on them.

Also when you have a FATE that says to kill X of enemy A, X of enemy B, and X of enemy C, is there a way to end it right after you've fulfilled the goals? Usually left with a minute or two and I'd rather not go and kill more since it seem the rewards aren't worth it.

Grinding Fates across three days for two different classes is just... whoa. At least I'm almost done with LNC, but man, grinding in South Shroud is really, really annoying (all the parties love the high level fates where mobs on the field like to rush one unlucky person)... I need to put this game down for a little bit after that.

Cutter is more of a test of how well you can recognize and respond to boss patterns. The last boss can kill newer players easily, but it becomes easy itself once you get experienced with its gimmicks. Stone Vigil is more of a test of good tanking than anything else. And Darkhold is actually really easy provided you can follow instructions and know the stage/boss gimmicks.

cutter's cry is only difficult at the first boss if your tank cant manage the adds
stone vigil is pretty easy if your tank manages pulls well
darkhold is reaaaally easy. just need to know the mechanics.

The only time I saw the first boss in Cutters Cry beaten the healer kited the adds running in circles around the room while the rest of the party took out the boss. It was pretty funny to watch actually.

Only way I've beaten it as well. Wasn't very funny though.

I was the healer :(

I just did Cutter's for the 2nd time today and had a tank with DL on tanking for us (he was there to finish his hunting log lol) and taught the healer to do this. We finished off the Princess in under a minute haha. Told us that as long as you kite the Marshall, the fight is a joke

And not only are they more expensive in terms of tome costs, they're actually inferior to darklight unless you make the HQ version. Yes, the HQ version with lots of materia melded to it is potentially better, but with the darklight you know what you are getting and aren't going to waste all that work getting a crappy NQ piece.

They really need to give more reward for gettng a craft to 50 in future updates.

Yea a lot of people were responding in this thread over the past few pages that the servers have been lagging pretty bad. Yesterday I ran CM and Prae for the first time for story clears in this lag. As a tank, I was a little more than frustrated. Have they addressed that this is an issue?
