Final Fantasy XV $34.99 on Amazon PS4/XB1

I had thought that a PC release was pretty much a foregone conclusion... but now I see that it seems rather unlikely? Making me want to jump on this deal even harder.

As above, I've been an Audible subscriber in the past (but not in the last 6 months) and was able to redeem that Groupon.

Bought. Nice. Honestly, I would have paid full price for it considering the feedback. Now I can get this and TLG for the Christmas break.

I got it digitally for $39 (with credits) but I could have waited since I haven't started it.

Didn't expect a price drop so soon or for WD2 to take me until last weekend to finish. I'm ok with this.

Not surprised it's been reduced already. I should have waited. I've been reluctant to play it as I want the pro patch and I've been busy. Plus this game just doesn't compel me to continue as the story has zero hooks.

How does anybody in 2016 sincerely think that SE won't ever port FFXV to PC? The question is "when", not "if". They have all three FFXIII, FFXIII-2, Lightning Returns, FFX/X-2 HD, FFIX (!), FFVIII, FFVII, FFVI, FFV, FFIV, FFIII, and even a spin-off like Type-0 HD on Steam.

It will probably come early 2018 as a Definitive Edition including all DLCs and a lot of PC-exclusive technical features and improvements (as stated by Tabata who said he wants to take their time with the PC version so that it's more than just a simple port). Some would argue that they also delayed it to get sales from double-dippers, but I don't think that's a significant number overall and also anybody who's so dedicated that they would buy a game twice would probably do the same if the game released on PC simultaneously. Now that the game's out I realized that the main reason probably was just the lack of time for optimizing a PC version. They clearly ran out of time during the development in general (who can blame them - 3 years is not a lot for a game of this scope), no wonder they didn't want to bother with anything else too. Better they wait and release a really good PC port later instead of a broken one that would've just gotten them unnecessary negative press around the launch.

Amazon told me to go pound sand even though I ordered it two days ago. So I went through the audible thing and bought another for $10. Will return the first one tomorrow. Pound that Amazon.

Right, I should have clarified that I meant "in the near-term," not "never ever ever." It makes sense that they (apparently) haven't made any recent comments about PC availability: why steal possible sales?

If I enjoy the X1 version *that* much, I'm sure I can wait to double dip on the PC version on a crazy sale.

Good luck. I tried to return it and it say this item is ineligible to return.

Just got it for $10 for minimal effort.

2) http://www.audible.com/at/redeem Redeem here on your Amazon account.

Give it about 5 or 10 minutes to show up. Gives you a $25 credit for free.

Edit: Only works for new Audible members.

Thanks. Not sure if I'll get the credit, but this worked after cancelling my audible sub so at the very least it saves me $30. I already have FFXV, so I'll probably snag Dishonored if it comes through.

It worked for me and I've definitely taken advantage of previous Audible deals.

Oh, got you. Sorry if I came off snarky, but I see so many posts saying that there won't be any PC port of FFXV with such a certainty and it just irks me, lol.

I opened a new Amazon account for work and am trying this Audible thing on a Prime 30-Day Trial.

Crossing fingers.

Really? Did you order a digital copy or something? Can't see why they wouldn't accept a physical copy return...either way sorry to hear that man. Merry f'in Christmas to us from Amazon.

Yeah but it's especially infuriating in the case of FFXV because the game's going to be less expensive with much more content.

Day one buyers, the ones that trusted Squeenix, have been screwed.
That's all games this gen. Control your impulses and wait for an inevitable price drop in a few weeks. Don't blame square.

It's generally not advisable to buy games on day 1, especially in the holiday season.
It's not always about saving money. This game has been decades in the making, and I wanted to play it day one. I've enjoyed every minute of it, so I'm happy to give all parties involved the max amount of money deserved.

WatchDogs 2, however...

I am stupidly tempted to grab this, but all the negativity toward a certain chapter of the game, the likelihood that I'll hate it and quit at that point, and they're "fixing" that particular portion of the game, makes me think better of it.
It will never not be baffling to me how hyperbolic the hate on that chapter is over here. I completely stayed off GAF from the release onwards for 2 weeks and was surprised to see everybody talking about that one chapter when I came back to post my impressions, like, I had to make sure and check which chapter they're even talking about, lol. I mean, I thought the section was maybe 30min too long, too, but "THE WORST LEVEL I HAVE EVER PLAYED IN ANY GAME IN MY WHOLE LIFE"? Nah. Come on. I've been playing games for 20 years now. Tons of games I loved had more annoying filler/padding/backtracking/badly-balanced sections. I actually enjoyed that chapter's change of pace and atmosphere after having quested for almost 70 hours before getting there.

No worries - thanks for saying that, though! :) I will be super-pleased if they do end up putting out a great PC version: this is the first FF game to entice me since...erm...VII and I'd love to see that design/art direction with monster hardware pushing it.

Thanks for the Audible link/deal! I already have FF15, but will definitely use the credit for something else. :)

Edit: Grabbed a $35 eShop gift card for $10. Rhythm Heaven Megamix, here I come!
