The only gameplay shown was running straight and rolling to dodge in very small linear hallways. The story looked as hammy and heavy handed as any FF.

It was no more interesting than Ryse or Destiny, even though it had more things smashing into other things and explosions. It was "next-gen" in a nutshell: flashy and boring.

Not to say it won't be a good game. It might. Nothing in the trailer was interesting though.

After XIII's dull, linear, barren world and barely fleshed-out concepts and characters, "hammy and heavy handed" is a fantastic return to form, IMO.

Final Fantasy XV is exclusive. Sony was trying to work out Kingdom Hearts III before the conference. I have heard Sony is helping with XV to get the game out in a timely fashion.

I mean I've seen so many amazing things on this console (Uncharted 3, GOW3, the last of us) that I really wonder it is not possible for a AAA ps 3 title to look like this nowadays.
Also, the part where the blond character comes and help Noctis, well, the in-game character models didn't scream "Next gen" to me (comparing to Second son or MGS V for instance).

Yep. It's literally far above any other game I've ever seen, in any genre. This is kind of what I expect parts of Deep Down to look like.

Almost all of it looks real time. Only thing that really had me doubting was child Noctis. Maybe the standoff with the king and his rival in the white robes too. The rest looked real time.

Honestly the trailer was simply amazing.
Japanese epic fantasy returns. And the KH3 surprise after it :O
I hope we get more details tomorrow/tonight (depending on the jet lag ). Their wording during the conference doesn't sound like the titles are full exclusive but there might be deals in place especially if the rumors about Sony helping/saving the project are true (and most likely they are).

No, I mean like a logo morph during a trailer. I can picture it already: 2 minutes of gorgeous CGI and dialogue that makes no sense, followed by the Final Fantasy Versus XIII logo, and then the "Versus" and "XIII" switch places and turn into XV. Coming to PS4 in 2014.
