Final Fantasy XV Episode Duscae 2.0 |OT| This is a fantasy based on feedback.

Is it weird of me to want Noctis to sound 10 levels less masculine? Just give me a typical anime male character voice. This deep sounding Noctis doesn't match what his character looks like.

Yeah, Gamescom cannot come soon enough.

I was watching a stream where somebody came across Cindy, and someone said that they made Cindy because SE said they only want males to play the game.

I don't even want to understand. SE messed up the marketing really badly. That's not how you debut the first woman in FFXV.

But Cindy isn't the first debuted woman in FFXV

But Cindy isn't the first debut'd woman in FFXV

I don't want to start the topic again, but she's the first significant female NPC in FFXV. She's the first female NPC you interact with.

Basically, people are extrapolating with just this one thing and this is what makes them believe that SE said that this game is only for men. You debut another woman first, and this discussion is completely avoided.

So glad I decided not to play 1.0. I haven't been following too much(I like to be surprised with games that I'm really anticipating). Has it been stated that there won't be any more updates?

Image quality is definitely improved on the PS4. Version 1.0 was such a blurry mess that I'd get a headache playing it. With Version 2.0, I no longer have that issue.

Yup, not only that but I'm pretty sure the foliage has improved overall. It's noticeable after playing 1.0 for so many hours lol

Considering this is a demo that not a lot of people are playing, they didn't really mess up the marketing that badly. They still have a lot of time to make changes based on the fan feedback. It's actually pretty interesting, watching how her design plays out. I wonder if SE will change much of her coming up to the release, based on fan reaction to her in Duscae 1.0 and 2.0.

Ideally, you wouldn't want this small uproar over Cindy's and people thinking that FFXV will only have women only like Cindy. It's a small thing to get upset about and you can definitely fix it, especially with the focus being on Luna in the upcoming months, but it's still something that could and should have been avoided.

Just played a bit, and I'm actually kinda impressed with how much they got accomplished in a relatively short period of time.

Framerate is much better in a lot of spots and the camera is certainly improved. Image quality still leaves a lot to be desired unfortunately. I think it looks better? ... But it's been a while since I played he first build.

Gonna continue playing to see more of the combat changes.

So uh after playing up to the first camping area and going on tour with Gladiolus, mid-battle all the enemies just stopped attacking us and now I can just run around the map and nothing is getting aggroed

This is a solid game changer for me. The battle goes from boring to OMG i'm looking for the rest ! This is a insane upgrade.

This pass from i'll probably buy it because it FF to... I'm really looking foward to the release.

Finally got a chance to play it and I am certainly liking the 2.0 changes. I LOVE the new team attacks, but I do wish they were available to use on the behemoth and dinosaur enemy. Does that big enemy really go away for good if you kill it? That's lame. It should respawn like the behemoth.

Anyway, the dodge roll is a nice addition, but I find myself not even using it that much. The L1 dodge is still superior in most every way, but I guess the dodge roll is good for when you are low on MP and just need to dodge some enemies until your MP regens.

The biggest change to me is the MUCH improved camera and lock-on. They definitely zoomed the camera out during battles which helps immensely, and when you lock on, you... actually lock on and the camera follows the enemy. I didn't even find myself needing to use the hard-lock by pressing R3 since just holding down R1 seemed to do the trick now. I'm not even sure what the difference is between those two now frankly. Holding down R1 just makes it easier to switch from enemy to enemy quicker, too.

The behemoth and big dinosaur fights still feel very awkward and honestly makes me a bit worried for bosses and how they will play. Or at the very least, the optional super bosses the game might have. I really hope they are not all just huge HP sponges that require very little tactics to kill.

But yeah overall, I'm liking the improvements and it's a lot of fun. I'm still a bit disappointed about the framerate. I swear when I first turned on the game, I thought they made it worse than 1.0. I'm still not certain it's better... It dropped to sub 30fps way too often for me (especially when a lot of those soldier enemies spawned).

Where is Catoblepas?

Rest at the camp and do the "Tour" quests and you can't miss it (it's part of Prompto's tour quest).

Camera is much improved over 1.0 which was pretty useless at following enemies. The only fight that really gave me camera issues in 2.0 is still behemoth, but he moves around so unpredictable, I'm not surprised.

Yeah these bigger monster fights are the ones that are coolest in concept but I can't get over how janky the fights look in actuality.

I hope they come up with a more elegant solution for far-off terrain and grass/shrubbery shadowing. Along with the bluriness of the picture due to DoV effects and resolutions, it's one of the most visually jarring things currently.

You ARE dropping the lock on for those battles right? Most videos I see people are either fighting a locked camera or just backing away constantly so it doesn't freak out.

It's like no one ever played a Souls game...

whats with the soldier drop ships? i get one EVERY fight i get into. got two on one of the fights...
I noticed that too.. I did three fights in the open world and all three were met with drop ships.

Definitely needs to be tuned.

I just watch some footage tbh
Yeah, me too. I wish someone would actually move the camera around manually for those fights to see if there's improvement there...

AFAIK they keep dropping when you fight out in the open (and you can hide behind rocks when you see the airship so they don't see you).

Ignis is kind of a smartass towards Noctis. The comment about Ebony was really odd. I couldn't see someone saying that to their prince.

Just put a couple hours into this.

My initial impressions are good. Battle feels much smoother, easier to follow the action, lock on feels better, MP and speed of techniques better balanced, the extra warp points are nice, unite attacks help remind me I actually have teammates to fight with, and the extra character touches with tours and more camping flavor footage help flesh out the team.

The most impressive thing to me still is the animation. Coming off of 100 hours with Witcher 3 (which I loved), the animations in Duscae are like buttered silk. So damn natural and smooth. Combat a lot more fun too, though, at least as regards this portion of Duscae, environment doesn't have the atmospheric punch of most of Witcher's locations.

But I love Batman Noctis. Like the contrast just works for me. But I see why people feel that way :(

But what about if they had been friends with them since childhood? All these guys have known each other for a long time, or at least that's what I thought while playing through. Lots of good-natured ribbing amongst friends.
