Don't you know? "Comat isn't turn based? Must be hack-and-slash garbage"
..... /s
What bothers me about it is the condescending tone people usually have when they complain about it.
Not liking what you see is fine, most videos really do have people holding O and nothing else, not even experimenting with weapons (doesn't help that the game gives A+ for Offense for anything you do), but it sucks that people post from their high horses, saying shit like "I guess I'm expecting too much from games these days, press A for awesome is enough for most people, I guess, I'm just too good at combat games", and in this they only show their own ignorance of not only this game's combat, but of combat systems in general.
ThougtsofSpeaking (IIRC) just by reading the airstep description said "cool, this sounds like jump cancel". By reading a single ability he was able to think about the potential it opens for the game's combat, especially aerial combat. Then you have people who watch someone pressing the same button and just assume that's all the depth there is to the game. You can also just mash /\ in DMC, you know?
Not that this game doesn't have its own share of combat-related problems, mostly the camera and responsiveness, but I'll never understand why people keep going straight for combat depth as their first criticism. This only shows how much they suck at it, given we have a playable demo already with many of the final game's combat mechanics, not how little the game has to offer.
And sorry, Coffee Dog, I don't mean to personally criticize you or anything, it's just something that people keep posting on every thread about the game. You look at the HUD, you see 4 available weapons at the same time, you look at the skill tree, the different systems like warp, point warp, warp strike, roll, phase and etc, and just because the person playing doesn't use them that much, you ignore all of it and interpret what you see as everything the game has to offer? It doesn't make any sense.
