Final Fantasy XV Gamescom Active Time Report - CNN reporting live from disaster scene

Wan Hazmer on FB:
"More FFXV News coming! Active Time Report will start in 7 hours, live from PAX Prime. Trust me, you wouldn't want to miss this one!"

I'm excited to see it - they always show or hint at something new. And I wasn't too down on the Gamescom presentation (yes it was poorly planned but I liked the trailer and still got some interesting news).

That said, my healthy low-grade hype is outweighed by anxiety at how the community will respond to whatever they show. Partly because I've been along for the ride since FF1, and partly because I don't want high-production-value single-player story-driven JRPGs to go the way of the dinosaur, I feel somwhat protective of little ol' (megacorp) SE.

I wonder how many seconds of new footage we'll get or if they'll re-show the same thing all over again.

Footage? More like 3-4 new slides of concept art, lol

Seriously though, I hope they have something substantial. They should take note of that kingdom hearts 3 announcement at D23. That was pretty well done.

I love how they had no footage and only one concept art and yet they announced more stuff than a bunch of ATRs combined...

That's how sad this game's marketing is getting...

The difference is easily seen in community reaction as well. The KH scene has been pretty positive.

The most convoluted KH has gotten (in terms of getting news/marketing) was BBS, and most of the stuff we only saw after the game was out or had a clear release date, so there's no real need to be worried for KH3.

The KH community can be positive because they know how news for KH goes, and what we had in the D23 was pretty normal and not indicative of anything bad. Being a part of it for quite a while now I definitely don't blame Nomura for the Versus stuff.

Tabata though...

Didn't they used to air the ATR on YouTube too? Why are they only airring it on Twitch now? I wasn't able to get to see the last one(even though I know it was disappointing) because I got rid of Flash(because of that thing regarding people getting hacked and targeted through Flash). You'd think Square would eventually upload them on their Youtube Channels.

I have a very hard time believing that.
He always says something like that, don't mind him.

Yeah, Twitch is pretty bad for me too. Maybe they saw that Twitch gives them more views or something... Or maybe Youtube only gets the pre-recorded ones.

My predictions: New battle footage, non answers about the Versus stuff carrying over, lolz airships, some new concept art and "big announcements at TGS".

The usual ATR stuff.

Add in some story details, random gameplay details and i'd be pretty okay with it tbh, after all TGS is only a few weeks away.

Tabata also said something or other about PAX being when they can announce when they will announce the release date.

But yeah, ultimately, this ATR is supposed to be about the making of the Dawn trailer, so keep expectations LOW everyone.

In order to do so, they must find the four heavenly talking crystals to lead them on the path of light! Can Claude and his friends do the impossible and make it back in time for college?

This is Final Fantasy XV - based on reality. Please be excited.

I would buy this.

But the PROM'S TOMORROW!

Can't wait for the Neo Bahamut boss footage that they'll show today.

Yeah, they haven't really shown any boss footage worth much. Funny roll out this FF has had. I mean FF is all about the spectactle and so far we have...Ramuh, that's it. Admittedly spectacular, but they need to show much more.

But it will be in a featureless cave, and they lose. Also someone else is redesigned.

And since the design is not finished they haven't textured him yet. His size may also change, and probably will. His moves will change too, they only made those ones to show it off at PAX.

I might turn it off if the translator is not there...
