Final Fantasy XV Gamescom Active Time Report - CNN reporting live from disaster scene

Really looking forward to some interviews done by the French FF fansites. Apparently they told Tabata that his whole feedback platform is weak and a mistake.

ha amazing. so true though.

BASED FRANCE

Well played to whoever told him that, hopefully they'll learn something from that before making mistakes based on feedback.

I also started wondering why Tabata hasn't talked about the Avalanche collaboration in the ATR when he was talking about airship, that answer could have been so much more interesting if he said that.

Wait, i get to sleep a couple of hours in the afternoon and the game's developement jumps ahead of 10% amazing.

Btw the marriage elements sounds so cool now: it would be cool to see how Noctis will react to this and to, eventually, having to travel with a girl, since he's supposed to be slightly awkward with women and more focused on spending time with his friends.

Anyway, is there somewhere to read this Famitsu interview?

In other news, for those who are interested. I've just finished recreating the trailer music from the Dawn trailer:

Blame the PR guy, possibly? :P

Honestly though it seems as if Tabata is much more open/comfortable when not on screen with him.

I guess their concept of what a "blowout" means is to spread little nuggets of information throughout the various Q&A's of GC and private one on one media sessions, which makes no sense.

Yeah maybe he's more comfortable offcamera or maybe their PR guys told him to save some infos for the following press which is kinda silly considering the ATR should be the main thing and most people surely won't check 1000 different websites to read 1000 different small new things.

Interview with Tabata from Kagari's site.

Noctis' suit is still in the game!

Nova Crystallis: Will the suit for Noctis as designed by Roen still be in the game?

xUXdBTtTabata: The contract we did with Roen when we first started making Final Fantasy Versus XIII contained a number of designs for the game. The designs from Roen that were contracted to us during that point are still being used for Final Fantasy XV. There are no additional ones, but the ones from before are still in the game.

You are very well informed on this! When we rebooted the game and turned it into XV rather than Versus XIII we would have been ashamed not to use those. We redesigned the story and the look of the world to include those in another fashion.

Airship DLC...and people seem to have no problem with that.

Because the wording he used didn't specifically meant "Paid dlc", but simply that the thing could be patched in after release.

Plus, most people weren't expecting it in well since the Versus days in the beginning.

And besides, we already have means of transportations in the game, and it surely seems to be a giant game so one should reckon to them what a giant task must be to make it work.

Huh, they've locked down english and japanese voices?

I wonder who the cast will be. Troy Baker as...

Nolan North as...

Johnny Yong Bosh as...

Laura Bailey as...

I wonder if we'll get any VA info at PAX. Or when we will.

Well they're not the main characters if that makes you happy (it makes me tho).

Airship DLC...and people seem to have no problem with that.

You may have missed the many people saying "Lol, fuck off, Tabata".

They're teaming up with the Just Cause team to try and implement it but they're saying it's such a hotly requested feature if they can't put it in for release (because the fact they've nailed down an internal release suggests the game is largely content/feature locked) then rather than push the release back they'll try and patch it in or release it as DLC afterwards.

I think they said atm they have prototype which lets you fly about Ramuh's eye height.

Plus, judging by the initial reactions to that statement in the ATR, a lot of people do seem to have a problem with it.

I take a wait and see approach to how they handle it.

Who is english Noctis, though? Mercer?

We dont know yet, we know because of some policy for the Se USA we won't have previous voices of main characters to come and do main characters.

The Japanese ones are voice actors from SE anime like FMA and ugh FREE

I really like the japanese voices for FFXV, but surprisingly I got used to the english cast too, so I guess I'm going with it on my first playthrough at least.

Free is also S-E? Didn't know, still haven't watched it.

Ah, shame.

We need more Gideon Emery et all.

I won't lie, half the reason I want a FFXII IZJS HD is for uncompressed audio.

DLC was translator wording, Tabata said just "deliver later" which is probably a patch.

Yeah, and I think the translator even said: "DLC or something like that." It's got to be incredibly difficult to translate a rapid-fire, ongoing translation in real time like that. He did a pretty phenomenal job, and seemed to also be trying hard not to frame things in a negative light .

My two bits on the Air Ship DLC is whether it's free or not.

To me anything that was thought or supposed to be put into the final game should be free. (Airships was long announced for this game, hence it should be free if it's not already in the final version of the game.)

But any ideas that they never bothered implementing or even started on during development is okay to be released as paid DLC. (They thought it would be cool to have motorcycles but this never went past the idea stage for example.)

Best thing about Air Ships is that the DLC can be free, but they can use the Air Ship as a way to to reach said paid DLC content if it's an expansion area.

When were airships announced as a feature that would definetley be in the game rather than something they'd add if they have time (which is exactly what they're saying now)? Legit question. Drawing a blank otherwise.

Hmm, I wonder if Roen also designed several sets of outfits for the main characters other than the suit and the one they're wearing right now. Hopefully they did.

Heh, I suppose the possible lack of appearance customization will be down to whatever deal they have with Roen. Which is...fair enough, to an extent, but I feel like some post release patch/DLC stuff might be multiple appearances like how XIII-2 had outfits for Sera + Noel, Mass Effect/AC style etc.

It'd be awesome to have classic Jobs (in the XV universe) outfits so Gladio could dress up with a XV version of a Gladiator/Warrior, Ignis as a Black Mage, Prompto in some Balthier outfit...

Versus days.
Since the re-reveal though, they only replied "we're still looking into that" or something similar. This time is the first we ever got a concrete answer.

#OOP

They arent lying... I know some people would hate this but I actually would like a LOT if they just update when they have something substantial to show instead of whatever they are doing rn.

Ah, yeah. Well...the Versus days also seemed to be when ti was a smaller scope game and have a world map...from the sounds of it, airships in XV would still be keeping a 1:1 perspective so...I can imagine it being difficult from a technical perspective, but also avoiding a player flying off to Final Boss Island 5 hours into the game.

I wouldn't mind airships but I can wait.

If Nomura had his way with Versus XIII and it would have had sequels would it really be called

Final Fantasy Versus XIII-2...

Also isn't some of hte new story stuff (that we obviously haven't seen) supposed to include some of the scope etc Nomura had planned for Versus-XIII sequels, so its a one and done game?

Not saying SE won't try to squeeze a sequel out of this though. Brought to you by Toriyama and Roses.
