I agree with this so much. I guess Terra was the closest we ever got. They should just create a game where you play an Eidolon as the main character.

Yeah, NO.In those games they were just spirits that you would tame in a sense... In xv it seems as though they are deities or rulers that you call or pray to for help.
But, what about Tidus? =PI agree with this so much. I guess Terra was the closest we ever got.
Yeah, them being "Deities" pretty much sounds like every other incarnation of them for the most part. Basically nebulous beings we only interact with to summon. FFIV did the basic job with this.Yeah, NO.
Being a deity will be generic and bland as it gets especially compared with how Final Fantasy VI treated them giving them personalities and they being the main drive of the plot during the majority of the game.
Did Regis in the demo ending have the same voice as Regis in the 2013 trailer?
I really think people need to pump the brakes on the Regis redesign hate (especially as it relates to his costume) until we see him in present day.
In the 'Dawn' trailer he's obviously been active in combat (he even has his sword in one hand) and that makes the fact that he's wearing kingly armor not at all absurd. From the video you can see the pinstripe motif is still there, and I would imagine as the kingdom returns to peace, he returns to wearing suits. Everyone just needs to calm down.
Yeah, it's not armor, and looks more like a kind of cloak. He still has the same pin-striped suit he's seen to be wearing in older trailers underneath.
Okay, thanks. I couldn't check.Yes.

No, it doesn't. That's the new outfit. It's weird because the concept art has the old design of Regis in it.

*Tech-demo for users isnt for playing the game. Its not gonna be game. It will be provided to see how attractive the world of FFXV is. You may let it rain, you may move monsters by yourself. Its safe to say that its like a tool for debugging. You can see the FFXV world as the developers do.
*Were trying our best not to cause any negative influence on the final game by preparing tech-demo. Its definitely a hard work. What we decide today will be possible in several months. We cant just magically create it. No worries, though. Our schedule is well managed.
Pretty sure this was well known, or at least widely speculated. Wish it was sooner thoughSeems the next "demo" release for everyone isn't really a gameplay demo like Duscae.

That still doesn't look the same to me. Maybe they already made changes and kept making tweaks until we got gramps.
It's possible they redesigned Regis as a last minute decision after the concept art was finished. I can't really understand what other reason for that.
This is what tabata said himself in ur interview. In other final fantasy the espers summons and eidolons were ur tools... In xv you get in their good graces and they grant you help...Please explain how that is even remotely true?

Maybe at some point in the 15 years he got a haircut and had his beard trimmed.
Lions don't trim their manes.

Made it before the design change T.T

How does the Roen costume thing work, is it S-E who requests new costumes from then when they want to, or is Roen behind, for example, the Noctis' main costume redesign (Tabata did say every costume will still be in the game, but you know what I mean)?
Because if which costume is the main costume (or even only costume for NPCs, who knows) is Roen's call, rather than being for story reasons, couldn't Regis' face redesign be made just to look better with the new outfit they had to use?
Well if anyone has a say on how entwined the summons are to the world of XV it would be him.You shouldn't go off what he's said lol.
Far as I know the Roen costumes were just for the main characters and possibly Luna.
Well if anyone has a say on how entwined the summons are to the world of XV it would be him.
And the summons in the past games from what i recall are nothing like demi-gods or deities, just really powerful magic that certain mages can manipulate.

I already admitted to u the kind of narrative impact they had in games like IV and IX. The question is the degree at which they will be involved relative to the other games. But to say they never mattered in the other games is flat out wrong. Even in FFXIV they are summoned deities who play an important role due to their destructive nature on the life of the land.

His statement was worded weird, but when looking at how he described it, I guess he meant importance with comparison to the player. The new summons aren't your slaves to do your bidding, instead you need to beg them for help. I don't know how this will be represented in gameplay or if it will be fun, but that's the impression I've gotten.
In previous Final Fantasy games the summons never played a massive part in the main story. They were there, but they were more for combat.
