Final Fantasy XV Gamescom Active Time Report - CNN reporting live from disaster scene

What they're showing (or not lol) combined with the set schedule they keep referencing makes me think the levels will be pretty barren by open-world standards.

Oh, and maybe hidden summons and extra powerful enemies in extreme/inaccessible environments, and hidden triggers for epic bro questing, and bushes from which sticks can be harvested and sharpened for marshmallow roasting.... Shit, I'm getting all excited thinking about this stuff. Not healthy with so long to go yet.

Lol I said Chocobo fishing, Also don't forget we have creatures with there own Dynamic habitats and ways of interacting with environments to spice things up, Marlboro hiding in the swamp for example, Airships spawning, Packs of animals mobbing up, the behemoth can climb up cliffs and comes in different variations as well.

Even think about the events like the stealth sections, or duo events with partners.

It just makes me wonder what the hell they are really doing behind the scenes we haven't really seen anything and gamescom would have been the right place to do it.. He said he skipped E3 to prepare for gamescom and then he comes to gamescom and says he wasn't prepared like what?

I think they still have to work on it too as this job listing is still up or went up recently, Tabata should not have said 2016...

They need to bring back FFIX's Chocobo Hot and Cold minigame, FVII's Choco racing and Choco breeding.

If they're gonna add airships, they might as well add flying Chocobos!

Yeah I love this kind of stuff. Along with the great creature animations, really goes a long way to making the wilderness believable and interesting.

They have already 200-300 people working on the game, that reads like it's just another grunt programmer position they might have already many of but always seek more to speed up progress.

While this certainly looks pretty, these are the enemies I get worried the most for. I don't know how the AI party members will properly respond to the AOE Bad Breath attack.

There's a similar thing with Catoblepas. That neck AOE attack just kills the party members since they're too stupid to back away,

So ... umm.. HOW is it possible for that big thing to be hiding under water as you can clearly see they are walking and the water is only maybe 1-2 feet high.

How is it possible for that big thing to be hidden in there, you can see the guys running where it was hiding and the water is only 1 feet high lol...

I know it's just a game but... yeah. They could have made the water level more deeper at least. Tsss.

And yes I know i'm nitpicking.

We can't even see what 's below the malboro.

Well it's good to know everyone, irregardless of origin, thinks changes like Regis are really stupid.

It feels like Tabata's just changing shit for the sake of it to make it 'his game'

Idk I really like the change. I loved his original design but I love the new one as well

fight me

I think minus some people the consensus is people do not like the change.
I don't find it necessary at all but it's whatever at this point just get the game out.

It isn't necessarily Regis's change that bothers me, more that what his change could means for the rest of the games aesthetic.

I'll miss that mafia suit motif if it's all gone, this game will always be haunted by the ghost of Versus.

Just a case of gameplay priority trumping logic. It'd also be weird to have waist high water and not have it affect character speed, in which case fighting Malboro while being slowed down as well as affected by his status ailments would make for an impossible battle. :P

Wasn't there a longer gif of this posted somewhere?

Yeah, that one was smaller and low quality since I didn't have the direct-feed HD video footage, which you guys can download here:

My guess is that it was also under ground.

1 The bottom of the water would be very soft, and this is a plant-like monster. Hence it could easily dig itself in the bottom of the water/ground waiting for prey to walk on top of it. Not to mention the water or ground it was at might or could had been deeper to begin with in that one spot alone. I've come across it many times before.

Well, I mean, the game is called Final Fantasy and all.

I get maintaining a certain level of plausibility in the fantastical but at the same time this isn't exactly that big a deal IMO.

Frankly these scrawny teens wielding these massive swords like they are nothing was always a larger immersion breaking thing for me.

I know i know :) but makes for a fun conversation :) I've enjoyed all the replies so far :P

No the announcement of when they are announcing the release timing will be there.

*At PAX EAST*
" I can confirm that we have a final release date for Final Fantasy XV, please look forward to futher details in the coming months."

They're announcing the announcement of the release date of the announcing date of announcements
*brain fried

I think Eggbok is right. They will announce the release date and PAX not announcing when they will announce the release date. That is just silly but this whole ATR was silly so idk.

Is that because you've seen it and it still looks amazing? Or because we'll actually get a quicker release as a result now, and at minimum cost to overall graphical fidelity? Or something else?

Because this way it actually has a chance of being released.
