Final fantasy XV might have 3 theme songs

Cool opinion! It's literally 3 songs.

I remember when I got pissed that the Leona Lewis song was in FFXIII, forgot about it and then it didn't come up until the ending and then it fit well enough that I didn't mind it
The song fit well enough, but if they were going to just choose a random song from the album then Brave or Broken would have worked infinitely better.

man these songs are really good

thank god that they're on spotify

not sure i like that somnus isn't the main theme, but i guess it will be the menu theme instead so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

If it was up to Nobuo Uematsu we'd have a main theme that ties in melodically with some of the tracks on the OST.

Alas..
Other composers working with SE have managed to do this too. Seems like a mistake for Shimomura to skip doing a proper theme aside from Somnus.

Stand By Me and Too Much is Never Enough have the prelude and Terra's theme woven into them respectively. Somnus is used in a key moment in the game, think that's more than enough.

Wasn't there another song ("Heart of Gold") that was in FFXV too, mentioned in that GameInformer article a while back?

I believe that one was one that could play over the radio but could be mistaken.

According to Game Informer, at the Hammerhead station an instrumental version of Neil Young's "Heart of Gold" plays in the background.

They played Florence + The Machine's song Stand by Me from her Final Fantasy 15 project this morning on BBC Radio 1. First time I heard it, was quite something!

"Too much is never enough" has those lyrics tho sounds like from the point of view of Noctis.

"Who cares about the thing I did that night"
"So what, maybe Luna had it right"
"Who cares if I'm coming back alive"
"So what at least I had the strength to fight"

Wonder if it really means anything towards the story.

Just listened to Stand by Me for the first time. To the guy who said it's ok

My Hands made me cry at the end of 13 cause I already liked the song. Having it hit at an emotional time was sublime.

I hope Too Much is Never Enough or Stand By Me make it into the game somewhere cause I REALLY like them both, especially Stand By Me.

One of my all time favorite artist doing some music for one of my all time favorite game series is fantastic.

That's what I think as well.

To be fair to the guy who said Stand by Me was just okay, I laughed when I first heard the song over the trailer. I just never imagined a cover of a bluesy song would become the theme song for a FFXV, which we previously associated with Somnus.

Once you start really listening to the song, its musicality, arrangement, etc., it's pretty amazing, especially with how Florence + Machine included the prelude theme to the song.

That said, it's strange to come out proudly and say that the theme song for FFXV is a(n amazing) cover of a (slightly overplayed, at least here) classic, when Florence + Machine composed two other great songs specifically for the game (though yes, I liked Stand by Me best).

'Too Much Is Never Enough' has broken the top 40 on the UK itunes chart :)

If this managed to keep up, this EP might sell/create brand awareness for the game more effectively than Kingsglaive will (if the reviews are to go by, lol)

Listening to Stand By Me. It's a great song, but doesn't fit with what we've seen of the game, in my opinion.

It's a bombastic Japanese game about four dudes on a road trip. The Florence version of Stand By Me is a subtle and epic rendition of an emotional blues song. The pieces don't quite fit together for me. Maybe it's just down to my perception of what FFXV is though.

I think it fits the 4 guys perfectly"stand by me" they Have a long journey ahead it'll be rough, it'll be hard and emotional. I like to think of it like Noctis is asking his 3 best friends to stand by him through it all(cheeky I know)

Can't stop listening to Too Much is Never Enough.

Really wonderful song, can't wait to hear it alongside the game. Still in disbelief I'll be playing this game in only a few months.

Heart of Gold might have been a placeholder. It's a real bummer :(

I want FFXV to go all in with that kind of stuff but the licensing is probably crazy.

Pretty damn good.

On a side note, It's really exciting that we'll finally hear the full scope of our goddess Shimomura's work on this game.

It was. In this video about 26 minutes in you can hear a bit of the music playing at Hammerhead if you listen very carefully. Bad quality, but it's the only time were it could be heard so far I think.
It's similar to the style of Heart of Gold.

I'm really liking these, Too much is quite touching even - could totally see that as the credits song :) Not as cheesy as many other FF vocal songs, IMO.
