Final Fantasy XV SPOILER THREAD

looking at what happened to FF directors in the past 10 years, that's probably what will happen to him. No one actually likes to direct main FF, nothing good comes out of it lol.

Knights of the Round is the final finisher!

Last fight should have been more though. Straight rip off of Omnislash ending in FFVII.

Maybe context will help but that was a lot of really bad writing.

Yeah I really need context around this because it just seems like Noctis dies for no reason and his friends are left fighting iron giants?! I was really hoping the ending would be solid since they KNEW how important a good story was unfortunately it looks pretty disappointing. Hopefully playing and getting the context around everything will make it better but I doubt it.

Well the music's great, and when the camera works the gameplay looks pretty fun. So I'm still day one. But yeah...

.... Yeah, the general public reaction to this ending is going to be... hilarious, to say the least.

General public will love the game and probably say the ending is a bit weak to be honest but I'll be no more than that. People here will make more of a big deal about it.

I don't get the ending at all.

After all the batshit crazy things that happened that led to Noctis' sacrifice, we go back to the camp right before where he says to his friends that he can't do it alone.

It's a way to end on a lowkey notes that highlights the heart of the game I guess.

So with Luna both dead and alive in a dream ending, this makes both of the leakers correct.
Either way, Tabata always manages to create the same ending, even though he's not the writer. I wonder why. This time he even copied the "what-if" ending from Type-0.

Yeah, so he died, and the last scene is before they go back to Insomina. He even says he's made piece with whats going to happen.

Well the ring also got destroyed right so maybe he sacrificed himself to destroy it too? It's hard to understand the ending without knowing what happens throughout the game.

So Noctis dies in order to totally finish off Ardyn, then he is reunited with Luna in the afterlife?

Supposedly Noctis and his pals all die to finish off Ardyn for good.

The campfire sequence is not actually after the battle but right before they embark on the road to Insomnia for the final time.

The city is already dead and buried. So essentially what we're seeing in the scene after the final credits is a world saved and what's left is an abandoned and decayed Kingdom

Probably. Even with their comments about the ending, Edge said that they liked the game and from what I understand and hear, they're very hard on games when it comes to reviewing them

I'm trying to remain somewhat in the dark as I do plan on eventually playing this (my main reason for being here is to see if its a Type-0 kinda thing and a waste of $60)....

But how is it overall, to people who know the whole story? Is it more likely to annoy/piss off a FFVII fan who was skeptical of this to begin with?

So Noctis sacrifices his life destroying Ardyn, thus ending the line of Lucis forevermore and that's why the ring was destroyed too. He finally rests in the afterlife with Luna in paradise. I think.
