Final Fantasy XV SPOILER THREAD

Hmm what the hell happens to the kingdom afterwards?

The ending is confusing, but I didn't play the game yet, so I'll get the game and play it through. I waited 10 years for this after all.

But, what about the campfire scene after the credits? Seemed like it was more so Noctis saying goodbye.

That took place before the final battle. He was giving final thoughts and regards to his pals about what was coming. And they basically said "we're behind you 100% bro"

Its dead. All the people were killed and there's nobody there to rule it. the final scene shows the kingdom cracked and decayed, after years and years.

Noctis was the final king.

Essentially, its just a ruin of another time while the rest of the world goes on oblivious but saved from destruction.

Guess peace and "light" returned to the world and the "Age of Kings" has ended(no more royalty of Lucis, Niflheim or Tenebrae... they are all dead). Power reverts to the people, they rebuild, leaders rise up and fight for power. Great wars are held and many people die. Y'know... peace.

Man, I could've pulled a better concept for a "final stretch" out of my ass than what we got here:

- You enter the palace and stand at the lobby, all looks fine, but more you trek into palace, the more it is distorted by Ardyn's dark magic, pulled like taffy, with holes that look into space(or the dark dimension).

- You eventually find your way to the throne room, which has become twice its original size, dwarfing our heroes. Ardyn subdues the bros and the entire battle between Noctis and him takes place in this massive room, the more intense the battle gets, the more it starts to warp.

- Finally Ardyn is defeated and Noctis knows he has to fight Ardyn in the "netherworld", tries to go it alone but the bros, sticking with him through thick and thin, decide to travel with him in this final journey. Noctis summons the KOTR which do him in and destroy the throne room, leading to the bros deaths.

- Noctis confronts Ardyn in the netherworld along side his bros, uses the ring(like in the QTE), but it transforms Ardyn into his "final form"(like Zeromus in FFIV). Final battle against Ardyn's monstrous, COOOOOOL looking final form is tought and ultra-epic. Our heroes prevail, Ardyn is defeated and peace reigns.
You came up with this after seeing this lol.

Yikes.

Maybe he got the bad ending and the True Ending is locked behind some obscure quests and choices ala SMT: Nocturne and Persona 4!

Right?

That's pretty dark for a FF ending.

I like it, it's tragic, and a tragic ending is probably the best way to end a 15 year old hype train.

Sounds good to me. I haven't been watching the stream so ultimately it all comes down to execution.

Also is it fair to now say that Luna wasn't fridged, since our boy Nocto gets killed too?

Yeah so did he actually reclaim the throne? Seems like a no since he's dead. I want to know what happened to the Niflheim Empire and was Bahamut Aranea?

They weren't kidding when they said the ending was pretty dark.

At least they have some material to work with if they want to expand further into this universe.

But I'll be fucked if I'm waiting another 10 years for another entry into it.

!!!!

With that, it's set, I'm staying away from this game. I doubt the hunts will be that interesting as the combat looks uninteresting to me. I hope it sells well, and I'm looking forward to FFXII HD remake on PC (pretty please SE, PSX2 version says 60 and hundreds fps uncapped, but 60 cap looks sub 30fps since it's emulating ps2, and uncapped moves too fast).

I've been watching streamed play time of the FFXV demo, and the game seems all over the place.

There is no alternative ending and quite frankly based on interpretation the ending works fine imo. Still I gotta play the game for myself.

But it quite clearly leaves nothing open to a sequel.

Nah, she was fridged and was badly written. But at the very least, yes, it wasn't a matter of her just being offed conveniently. Everyone was offed intentionally.

You know, the ending does fit very well with the lyrics of Too Much is Never Enough....

Still, if they all die, how would the big DLC with all 4 of them work? Unless the MMORPG they were making is set in the ruined world after the game...?
