Final Fantasy XV SPOILER THREAD

You know, the ending does fit very well with the lyrics of Too Much is Never Enough....

Still, if they all die, how would the big DLC with all 4 of them work? Unless the MMORPG they were making is set in the ruined world after the game...?

Well you can make DLC as a prequel story that wasn't shown in the game. Off beaten path sort of stuff

They can just take place during the 10 year time jump.

Why y'all hating? The titanic ending is beautiful.

The last time I watched it, I was surprised how much it choked me up.

This ending looks meh, i hope Ardyn has more scenes during the game to make him feel like a proper villain...

Based just on the final battle, he's boring and has terrible dialogue. Maybe they can salvage the former with earlier development but not much can be done about the latter.

It's probably before the game ends honestly, but it'll be interesting to see how the MP works.

Also to the post above yours. They'll probably just detail the day one patch and maybe detail the Pro patch coming in December.

Yeah. I admit that ending is entirely out of context for me. I'd love to know why he seems to be turning feral as the KotR slice him a new one.

Where's all this "genderbent Bahamut" coming from?

Saw tons of people on GameFAQs say that she is. Yeah I know GameFAQs, but...With Gentiana being Shiva, it makes sense. Plus Bahamut kind of looks like her armor. And got's a feminine like face with a helmet that looks quite like her. And she's a "Dragoon".

The 4chan leaks got so much right that clearly at some point there was a battle in that final moment with Ardyn. I wonder if it's hidden content that we can access in some way or if it was just removed. And if it was, why.

Or maybe they just got that part wrong

I'm glad we can all move on from this game now. XV has plagued us for 10 years, but now we are free. Interested to see what SQEX does after XV.

It is strange and rare thing to have a FF title that doesn't completely turn it up to 11 on the last fight and have you fight some sort of God.

Rewrites, I'd imagine. The leaks also said that the script was in a massive state of flux.

It was...but titanic's ending worked because it was crafted from an emotional story that did more in its 3 hours of run time than most games do in their 10+.

Not only were the main characters excellent but it took time to basically show the perspective of essentially almost everybody on the entire ship. The entire movie was the ship and the ship was the movie. So when you see the ending you can point out basically almost everybody and feel some sort of connection, no matter how slight.

I don't think Noctis, Stella and the Kingdom(and its people)were shown with enough focus to really sell that exceptional titanic esque vibe, although its still appropriately sad. Because most of the time you were spent out of it and bonding with the bros.

Or maybe they just got that part wrong

Seems like such a specific thing to get wrong. It would only make sense if they were making it up, but then it doesn't fit with the overall negative tone of the leak. They weren't really too happy with the game, judging by the way it was written, so it doesn't make sense to lie about something that would actually be pretty cool.

I also noticed from my very very very limited understanding of spanish, that some subtitles didn't match 100% the english voices. So either there's still hope for the portuguese localization being made straight from the japanese version or it's a worse scenario and they just didn't have time to update the "lesser languages" with later dialogue changes. We've seen Prompto's Chapter 0 line changed in the latest build, after all.

It is strange and rare thing to have a FF title that doesn't completely turn it up to 11 on the last fight and have you fight some sort of God.

I mean, as far as the battle itself goes, I'm pretty happy with the "turning it up to 11" aspect of it, hahaha. But yeah, even his voice getting fucked up, that's classic transformation setup.

The dude playing was kinda bad at the game, I wonder if it was on easy mode, and if it was, could that make a difference?

I also read someone in chat saying he didn't have all Royal Arms. Not sure if it's true, but if it is, that's also something to keep in mind, I suppose.

We'll see soon enough, in the next few days people doing most sidequests will start to finish the game.

Rewrites, I'd imagine. The leaks also said that the script was in a massive state of flux.

True, but I don't think they needed any more story context for a battle. The way it happened was perfect. He only needed to transform and fight.

I do love a good 'kill 'em all, let Etro sort it out' ending, but the afterlife stuff reminded me a bit too much of LR. Goddamn Ardyn with that hat tip. M'Noctis. I guess I like the ideas behind the ending, but don't love the execution of it? The localization dialogue was really awkward, too, which is a shame, as both Ray Chase and Darin De Paul did a great job in terms of voice acting.

I guess I think it'll be another FFXIII for me story wise, just with considerably better player freedom/level design in-game. I liked FFXIII, but I was hoping it would be more of a return to form in the series in regards to story overall.

The ending is fine, by itself. Most of its emotional punch will rely on how the story builds up until that point, but I'm afraid the build up may not be good enough. Especially if Luna has barely any scenes.

Yeah, absolutely this. I guess from what I've seen I'm a bit worried about the build-up through out the story, and Ardyn and the final boss fight didn't do a lot for me in the end. Returning to Insomnia might had a bit more punch if we'd spent some time there at the beginning of the game. Luna is a bit of a waste.

Also is it fair to now say that Luna wasn't fridged, since our boy Nocto gets killed too?

Eh, she still got shoved right in the fridge, sadly. Her character was pretty much a plot device for Noctis. I had to laugh at Regis praising her for bring the ring to Noctis at the end. Poor Luna, well, at least you were a delivery service.

I wonder if that was a time bend to erase Ardyn from history which resets everything in an alternate timeline. One not shown until dlc.

Nooo, not another Tabata secret ending! I'll keep the everyone dies ending.

Aranea is not Bahamut.

So on tumblr someone put the video of the ending without even spoiler tagging it. Hope the people on blackout are extra careful.

Reminded me a lot of XIII's ending with the sacrifice.

You know, before LR kinda changed that perspective.

Toriyama was insistent for some reason on saving Vanille and Fang, even though they didn't need to be saved. Even bringing timr travel into the picture to keep the franchise going. Makes no sense to me.

Even though i thought FF13's ending was a pile of dicks(orphan and old man pope are probably the worst villains of all time in my book), and ragnarok was a dumb deus ex machine put in at the very last moment through tons of dumb exposition...

Atleast it ended definitively and on a relatively bittersweet note. The world had to rebuild on pulse, the people were mostly saved and everyone was reunited.

I watched that stream of the ending before it got taken down. I think the ending works. The king gives his life so that his people can thrive; on a larger scale, Insomnia was sacrificed so that the world could survive. I'm missing a ton of context, but it seems to be an effective parallel imo.

The only thing I don't like is the last scene with Luna. It seemed a little out of place.

Isn't the kingdom messed up anyway though?

Going to brave this thread a bit without looking and ask if the entire game was streamed and what the environments are like beyond Duscae, if there's even any aside from that, the main capital city and Altissia or whatever. Just hoping for diverse environments than Duscae.

Hell, I'll just pop this in here and ask that someone that knows shoot me a PM rather than a direct reply here so I can jump back out.

I hope we still get XVI. The success of XV still seems to be hanging in the balance. We also don't know if the VII Remake will make or break SQEX either.

16 will get made and FF7 remake will sell a shit ton. XV will sell well enough on it's own. These are things I'm not worried about in the slightest.

Gotta have waifu moments in anime. It's practically fanservice.

Just hope we get ALL of Sephiroth's final forms in the remake. I don't want him to just grow his AC wing and fight you like that. Fuck that, we need more strange final forms and
Bizarro and Safer
were GREAT final boss forms.

I also hope FFXVI learns the positive ground made by FFXV, but ignores the negative ground.

If nothing else, at least I can take my time and play this game without blowing through it to get to the end. I can take my time with the side content.

Me too. Hell, i don't even have the desire to watch streams anymore. i already know how it ends so i want to keep how it came to that a surprise for myself. :3
