Final Fantasy XV SPOILER THREAD

Chapter 0 now officially makes no sense and is out of place for the rest of the game. It should have been Noctis and Ardyn staring at each other from across the street saying cryptic shit the player doesn't yet understand and then ends just as they leap at each other to fight. Otherwise they should have just cut it and had the game start at the cutscene with them leaving the castle, or them pushing the car

He appeared both times the guy fought the boss.

Ramuh seems to be summoned only when Noct is near death. I can't recall both times but I feel that was the case.

I guess it's kinda a fake out? I mean, you can assume it's Ardyn but you find out at the end it's not? Idk I agree Chapter 0 makes little sense.

Better for it to not be there at all in my opinion.

I guess in a way I'm kind of glad that Noctis died too. He's had a rough 10 years. Plus I would not like it if it ended with King Noctis telling the story to his kids with
Queen Iris or Cindy (haha!)
coming in and giving him a kiss before the screen starts pulling away revealing the state of the restored kingdom. I'd feel really bad for Luna.

How does everyone feel about the final boss?

Music was pretty decent but I found it very underwhelming to make seemingly all phases of your battle with the big bad himself some over the top one-on-one stuff.

I don't know, it's an attempt at a twist on the "formula" but taking it at face value (since that's all I really can do for now) I don't really feel it's an interesting one.

Yeah all in all, it ended pretty well. And I'm glad there's no sequel fodder.

Wait....

-Spurned King kills current king with his new band of followers and takes over the throne.
-Prince runs far way, becomes stronger with his friends
-After a long time gap and visibly matured, brings his friends and comes back to retake his throne in the ruins of his burning homeland
-One on One fight, mockery and taunting as it goes on eventually ending in the defeat of the villain at the hands of the hero

Final Fantasy Versus Lion King
That's what I was thinking too!

It feels really shoe horned in.

At this point I feel like I would've been happier if the concepts from Versus were just killed off and 15 was its own completely independent thing.

I see this opinion all the time, but I completely disagree with it. The weapon summoning and warping is the basis for one of the most interesting combat systems I've seen in a long time. As well as the fixed party with people who have been friends for many years, and the road trip style game.

Every time I see this opinion it feels like the person doesn't care about anything other than the plot in a game. Like they're thinking "there will be battles anyway, it's FF, who cares". For as much as it differs from the original concept, FFXV is still the game it is because of that concept, without a doubt. They're not just keeping the name and character designs, they're keeping many core concepts, and even improving on some of them. Like, for example, I don't think anyone saw the Versus CGI/Advent Children style battles that were promised in that 2011 trailer, but I just chose to balee because Nomura makes great games with fun combat, so there's no reason to worry about its quality, but it's undeniable that the current battle system does a lot more to keep that promise than what we've seen before (including, and especially, from Tabata's own Episode Duscae combat).

I only watch the disney versions of popular stories thank you very much.

Actually, given all that stuff about Nomura wanting to remake the game in the mold of a Baz Luhrmann movie, you're probably closer to the mark. The Lion King does seem more like the more direct source of inspiration here.

What? Are you serious? Uh... FF15 is nothing like Versus gameplay wise. You only control Noctis in 15 whereas there was full party control in Versus. You're welcome to your opinion but let's not sugar coat 15 for the mess of compromises and broken promises that it is.

How does the Omen trailer factor into this with the demonic voiceover?

And what about the Oracle and destined to be with each other stuff?

And the plague of the stars?

And the cosmogony stuff?

I hope these have satisfying threads within the story because the ending didn't seem to hint at those things.

So it's basically a bittersweet ending.

Basically. I was a bit upset when I first saw it but when the streamer played the final battle in English, I was fine with how it turned out. Of course, the fan girl in me would've liked everyone to have to lived, but with what Noctis and Luna had to go through, it's nice that they found peace. Noctuna! <333333333

I still need to play this game though! There's so much I feel like I'm missing! D:

None of it has anything to do with anything.

The omen trailer was not a direct connection to the game, it was inspired by the concept of FF15.

Noctis: It ends tonight.

Ardyn: know it does! I've seen it.

xD

Yeah a lot of details are left out so it will be nice to get those filled in when it releases soon.

It also works that you get some bitter-dramatic ending for this game then kingdom hearts 3(hopefully) will have a good-sweet ending.

Might still be confused on a couple of thing even after the ending of both games lol.

Well, again not knowing the context, the ending definitely implies that the Plague of Stars is stopped. As for the Oracle and Noctis being together....you need to see the ending (after you beat it I mean(!
