An MMO never endstehee
Actually the main scenario can end. FFXI for example just finished its story. And XIV treats each expansion as individual full games.
An MMO never endstehee
That would have been so incredibly out of place. I can imagine it now.Anyone else thrilled XV broke the trend of having a pop song playing over the frikkin ending? (XII, XIII both did this).
14 did end with the meteor crashingAn MMO never endstehee
Okay so this has been bugging me for a while. All the hotels, gas, and fast travel costs have been 50% off for me for the entire game. What gives?

Oh so that's why I couldn't find an item I redeemed in my inventory.Did you redeem a preorder bonus?

Lightning Returns broke that trend actually because the game didn't have a vocal song in the end.probably ran out of budget lol
Does everyone agree at least that they nailed the ending?
Everything that happened there, including the mid-credits campfire scene as well was just beautiful.
I am still trying to process what happened. For me this is one of those cases where the game is going to linger in my thoughts for a while before I can move on.
Literally started to have a borderline emotional crisis now.
Star Wars Ep VII and FFXV
Two things I have looked forward to from mid 2000's
After Revenge of the Sith released in 2005 I was merely 12 years old and I knew we would get a new Star Wars film some day...and of course Versus XIII's showing from the year 2006 finally bore fruit 10 years later.
Feels so weird.
Feels like I need to finally grow up or move on with life now.
The type of enthusiasm you feel when you're young and looking forward to something for ages with immense hype feels like it may never return![]()
Oh wait...there's the FFVII remake haha
FF VII Remake and KH III. I'm waiting for VII remake since 2005 and KH III since 2006, so I'm "good" lol

Wow. Regis looks much older now in that image.
I had this picture in the catalog from when Noctis firsts wakes up after the time skip and hes sitting and looking at the ground and he looks like Sad Keanu. I wish I wouldve used that picture as it perfectly wouldve summed up the game
I must be a cold-hearted monster....because I did not like the final campfire at all. Felt too forced and...predictable? I'm not sure what the word is I'm looking for. But it had 0 emotional impact on me.Does everyone agree at least that they nailed the ending?

Death
Tragedy
KIMI NO KOI WO KIKERU~
Type-0, Crisis Core and even The 3rd Birthday did that to varying extents, so FFXV is deviating from more than one trend. I hope Tabata's new IP returns to killing off the entire cast to upbeat J-pop.
Why did Noctis go from kinda asian 20-year-old to european 30-year-old?
He looks like John Wick
Oh, didn't realize you were actually doing a full review. I eagerly await it!Working on my full review. I wanted to mess around in the bonus dungeon some but trying to land the damn airship is completely broken.
I like the campfire part. Not huge on the rest of it honestly.Does everyone agree at least that they nailed the ending?

So what's up with the post credits wedding scene with Noctis's name on the throne? Does that mean they're together in the afterlife? Did they both get brought back to life? I don't get it.
So what's up with the post credits wedding scene with Noctis's name on the throne and Luna standing next to him in a white dress(don't remember if it was the wedding dress)? Does that mean they're together in the afterlife? Did they both get brought back to life? I don't get it.
I wouldn't have minded if Too Much is Never Enough played during that last segment tbh..Anyone else thrilled XV broke the trend of having a pop song playing over the frikkin ending? (XII, XIII both did this).
It's been a while....so it was like a dream sequence? You ever see the ending to Titanic?
Oh yeah, they used a lot of FFVI influences but man, some of the imagery was like straight out of Valkyrie Profile. Particularly the field of flowers with Luna and Noctis. Tenebrae reminded me of Asgard even though we only got to see a little bit of it.

Same thought on both points. My main complaint about the 4 friends is that because they are so friendly and similar they lack conflict. And watching 4 people who don't have conflict with each other is boring as shit. So when they tried to introduce conflict with Gladio it felt very forced, and he only came off like a complete asshole.Ohh, and i hated Gladio btw. No matter what i did, he was yelling at me for no reason, gosh how annoying he is. I wish i could silence him!
There where many scenes where i had to think of past ff games. Even at the end, when he went to afterlife to kill Ardyn, i had to think immediately of Cloud going inside of him to kill the last cell of Sephiroth.
The ff theme is alright? As much as I have criticisms of the ending of Type-0 (and really the whole game), I love that Bump of Chicken song. The song ending this game is alright I suppose.
I'm just done...that was a terrible game, it joins Final Fantasy II as the only mainline games in the series I just straight consider bad games.
It's a what if scenario if everything went according to plan.
I was referencing the F+tM song that plays over the credits actually. The ff theme is alright?
The game feels so desperate to give you "feels" without ever actually earning it...
I got feels when Luna said her goodbye to Noctis in that CG scene, which most people hated. And the one most people liked at the camp I hated it and thought it was unearned. I can't justify it. I just listen to the heart.the thing is, it seems to've worked on a number of people irregardless...

It's a gorgeously framed scene, I can't really hate it. I hate that I felt like there wasn't enough reason for me to care about it. With a proper investment into Luna, that scene might have been something pretty special for me :/I got feels when Luna said her goodbye to Noctis in that CG scene, which most people hated. It's really not fun.I just watched part of the Adamantoise fight on YouTube. That design is pretty awesome. That fight looks terrible. Watched a minute and most of the time the camera was in a position to where I couldn't even see the damn turtle.

Yeah. I think I'm definitely a sucker for the whole cinematic feel of that scene. The way it was framed, her dialogue to Noctis. But the music really brought it home. Then when she grows up and Noctis stays a child....God, I loved it.I really like that scene, but i just couldn't feel anything, cause we saw almost to nothing about her. Same with the last scene, i could feel Noctis pane, but as soon as Gladio started crying i got angry at him for screaming at me all the time and that ruined the whole scene for me XD.
I kept wanting to watch Ignis during combat after he went blind to see what the heck he actually does. Never remembered to do so. You'd think he should be bumbling about, but I imagine he was still rocking it old school like before he lost his eye sight. So many things with the group felt forced, ignis getting blind for whatever reason and then staying in the group and fighting, what? Prompto need to get acknowledgedall the time, but it just didn't feel real.
How long does it take to complete these main scenarios (including expansions) in XIV? And is it achievable in (mostly) solo play? I kind of want something to wash out the bad taste after XV.Actually the main scenario can end. FFXI for example just finished its story. And XIV treats each expansion as individual full games.
