Final Fantasy XV SPOILER THREAD

Just finished the game. What a weird ending. Just let it have a sad ending. Not; well they're dead but they're still happy, don't worry!

Also what happens now? The line of Lucis is gone, the ring is gone. All we get for aftermath is...Noctis and Luna in the afterlife; we see nothing of the rest of the world.

The fight with Ardyn would have been a lot better if the camera wasn't so awful. Really wish you could pull it back more.

I definitely really liked this game but mannnnnnnn it has some problems.

Was Versatel even present in the game outside one scene? Wtf.

Nope. And I honestly forgot he was even in that one. I remember seeing that cutscene and thinking "oooh yeah, here are our villains!" and then they amounted to nothing outside of Aranea.

Also, anyone else found the sniper rifle that only Noctis can use and the thermal suits? I was looking around for some stuff online and stumbled upon how to get these. It's pretty silly having everyone run around in space suits and the sniper rifle is such a weird one off pretty hidden weapon.

Thermal Suit is on the bench next to Holly by the power plant post game. The power plant stuff was super weird and random, you can tell it definitely had a bigger part at some point what with the interior looking so well detailed and how you can ride the elevator up and it was used for such a weird thing, a single fight randomly as a way to get Gladio back into the party. Okus the thermal suit looks a lot rougher than any of the other costumes, looks just like a random NPC you aren't supposed to actually look at for too long.

The Cerberus sniper rifle is in the imperial base Fort Vaullery next to the Hulldagh Pike. Go through the main doors, turn left and go straight ahead and it's in the small building/room next to some big gas container things.

Speaking of Prompto that sudden plot twist in chapter 13 was something for sure lol

I kinda feel bad for writers that came up with this story to be honest. The actual story obviously has a good potential but it was butchered into bits and pieces and shoved into the game in order to make sure that XV hits its November release date.

You can change the camera distance in the settings menu :P Standard is normal but there is a far option lol.

My opinion on Gentiana. I liked her a LOT (not because of her shiva form). More because, unlike the rest of the game, the "implicit" nature of her character really works for me. It didn't really dawn on me until later, but Titan, Leviathan, and Shiva are all legit dead. Gentiana is literally a spirit, and all the summons you use are basically projections of spirits, hence why the days get slightly shorter after chapter 4 and 5.
How she acts around Ardyn by freezing him was both soft, full of hate, and dominant at the same time. Really felt the anger from her, loved that scene. Then there was the Ifrit fight (man do I love that fight!) where at the end she ends Ifrit in a very tender way, very very different from Ardyn. It feels like pity and almost like sorrow, as if the 2 have some long history that was between them and them alone.

Maybe I'm the only one that picked up on that stuff though. Shiva's dead corpse was haunting though (though the boss fight... actually that boss felt just like a normal "this area needs a boss so lets put one you won't care about here" boss you see so often in ff games, so i didn't mind it.)

We saw the dawn didn't we? I assume that all daemons are now gone and scourge of stars has been cured. So basically the world is saved and everyone lives happily ever after. Well, besides Noct and that blonde girl Luna.

Ending was well done but the story is nonsensical as always. Gladiolus still sucks.

Anyway, this game is cool. Not the best final fantasy but it was neat. Looking forward to the end game

I'm having so much fun with the end game content. The portrait of Lakshmi was such an awesome inclusion.

Bahahaha when you go back to Vyv and he's all "oh hell no this isn't for the magazine"

Also, lol at whoever says that's a QTE fight. He can easily kill you if you're not paying attention

For me it's not that it's a QTE. It's that it's a completely different system from the combat you've grown accustomed to in the game. But it's okay, it serves its purpose as a setpiece like Leviathan, and Ifrit was good enough for me prior.

pls give hard mode

I really do hope they do flashback cutscenes to really add to Ardyn's character.
His backstory is one of the reasons I love him so much.

(yeah yeah sorry to bring up the E3 2013 trailer)

Just finished the game, but I'd like to point out something I found humourous in the game.

In the beginning of the game, when you're in the store, Prompto goes "What's a gil?" implying Insomnia uses a different currency from the rest of the world. Then when you're in Insomnia you see a parking lot with a sign advertising in yen. It's the little details that make this game for me.

Also on the pedestrian traffic lights, the green light is a cactuar.

Seeing this trailer reminds me how hilariously poor Leviathan's little mini-water-dragons look in the final game.
They're a bizarre combination of terrible modeling and animation, combined with making them so transparent you can barely even discern them, anyway.

I actually stopped and said "ewww..." and thought back to this trailer when I first saw them in-game.

Seeing the Leviathan set piece downgraded from an Uncharted level spectacle to a couple hallways pasted together and a janky mini-sandbox is also a gut punch.
A bunch of the stuff Noctis is climbing on and traversing in that trailer is present in the final setpiece, just... shaved down to a single warp point and some awkward camera angles.

Does anyone know what happens if that Altissia government woman, who you have to talk to before the ritual, has an unfavorable opinion of you?

I'm pretty sure the entire extent of that scene is how many "Oracle Ascension Coins" you earn.
It feels like there was supposed to be a lot more around the Leviathan setpiece, but they cut it and they already had that conversation modeled, animated and acted, so they were like "Well, it doesn't really *hurt* anything. Throw it in."
It's also groaningly, hilariously convenient that there's a massive city-wide evacuation effort happening, and Camelia's like "I specifically need 3 people. For reasons." *Eyes Glad, Iggy and Prompto."

Maybe it'll get some pay-off in how Ignis is treated in his DLC.

Oh, earning those coins was the whole reason for that scene?! I had no Idea, lol. I thought, maybe she would refuse me her support or something like that. XD

I actually made a video of this. You get a funny scene and an Oracle Coin for mocking and threatening her.

Hey, great! :D Lemme watch this...

I noticed this. Its why I was never bothered that Regis sent the bros out with no money. All those years in the wall, there was no way to get any gil. This was one vague detail in the game I was okay with.

That's actually not why you have shorter days.
The Starscourge had begun by that time and it's why you had shorter days. It's basically some photosynthetic organisms released by Ifrit that drink light before it reaches the ground and also parasitise and turn people into daemons.

Remember that there was a Starscourge even when the Astrals were alive back during the days when Ardyn cured it by absorbing the daemons.

Sorry, I know this is common knowledge at this point, but I have to ask if this was stated in the game or guidebook? If the former, I missed more than I thought.

Was Ravatogh supposed to have a boss? There was just a big empty cavern. Looked like I was gonna get a big Wyvern fight, but instead I got nothing.

Yeah, as answered it's a hunt. Which imo is fucking stupid. I'm all for having hunts in dungeons once you've cleared them but c'mon, it was such a cool dungeon, with a cool view of an obvious arena but nope, we missed out on the boss fight because we didn't take a hunt so we have to climb the dungeon again. Should've been like, a Zu hatchling or something for the boss then a sidequest that leads to the hunt to fight the mama Zu.

The only thing needs patching is a toggle for post game to have the older face models. Gladio is such a massive improvement even if he spends most of game after chapter 9 as a twat

Good god, the ending scene with the boys around the campfire really broke my heart, left me devastated and crying like a little bitch.

Yeah, me too.I just finished it yesterday, and the 2 post credits scenes really broke my heart

I mean, yes the story was pretty disappointing overall but man if the last scene with Luna and Noctis isn't what Final Fantasy represents as a franchise, I really don't know what is.

This scene imo showed me that at least SE still has the potential to make you feel like
you felt when you played the old games.

Well, it's a shame, but what can you do, life goes on and I hope SE keep all of the good the things that FFXV offered and make something wonderful again with FFXVI
Until then the ending part along with its music will haunt my mind and make me
sad every day I think about it.
If you think about it it's like an allegory about what the game could have been and what it finally was :P

If Gentiana is just a spirit why did she already exist long before FFXV ever starts? I was kind of unclear on that whole thing.

Bearded noctis derserves to ride chocobos so I approve this suggestion. Still disappointed on the supporting cast ignoring the boys and the main villain. I'm on two sides because this game shouldn't have been released but tobdelay any further would of led to it being ridiculed.

Gentiana is how Shiva looked before she died. Her Shiva form with multiple copies is supposed to be her "ghost" form. Apparently Shiva retained her Gentiana looks after being killed and unleashes her new form when she meets Noctis in the train.

I love that the crew didn't give a fuck where Prompto was from when it was revealed he's an Imperial. That was good and I liked how they mentioned he never acted proper in front of a prince either. That explains why he didn't have parents in the anime.

The only thing that I will never understand is why they put that scene with Ifrit at the beginning of the game

During the train escape sequence I thought for a second that Prompo would really die, but them I remember that he is alive for the Ifrit fight

I don't really get it either, as I don't think it particularly offered anything.

Trying to be clever and show that they were together even 10 years later altho not really. Noctis was missing for that time so showing Ifrit fight was def pointless.

Also, older Noctis is cooler looking than younger. Lost that dumb hairdo.

I'm probably extremely cynical for wanting this but I thought the story was going to take the Neir path at one point. Prompto kept bringing the "Im so worthless" stuff, and they kept talking about Iris and Gladios need to protect her. Thought they were going to take a journey takes its toll" angle. Iris dies, Ignis Blind, and Prompto dead. I think it could have worked. Iris dies before leaving for the island. So the rest of the game has Gladio building this hate towards himself over her death. Prompto sacrifices himself somewhere in the story, say the demon room before the Chrystal. Ignis is the only one to greet you in Hammerhead in a broken down diner, then alone you drive the Regula into Insomnia to finish what you started, with no real intention to live.

I like my tragic stories to be soul crushing, go big or go home.

There really isn't a point to the Covenant is there? You never gather the six Astrals and it's never really stated what happens when you do IIRC.

I'm not even completely sure why the empire was killing these guys other than trying to cockblock Noctis.

Why were they going to the empire post chapter 9? It seemed to be a direct result of attaining Leviathan. I suppose they didn't consider the fact that there may be no water around.

Not sure about the covenant, but the empire was killing them to prevent Noctis (and Luna too presumably) from forming a covenant with them.

I've also heard that Shiva attacked the empire directly, which is why she's dead before the others. But I don't know the validity of that statement.

Does anyone know which song is played when Noctis summons the final attack against Ardyn in the afterlife realm? It's beautiful and I want to endlessly gorge on it.

Pro-tip: If you're hoarding EXP and doing the monster hunts for the Ultimate Weapons for Noctis and Co. from that old man in Lestallum, I suggest you eat the lasagna in Altissa.

It gives you a 100% EXP bonus and some nice stat upgrades too. A little goes a long way!

Just rewatched the omen trailer and Regis didn't even keep his promise to the crystal. Crystal said it only needs one life and Regis said he refuses this. Unless he meant he wanted more casualties.

The crystal said it was looking forward to one more specific death (Noctis's, because that would mean Noctis fulfilled the crystal's calling and banished Ardyn).

I actually hadn't seen the Omen trailer until like yesterday, but I assume the distorted voice at the end speaking to Regis was Bahamut?
