Final Fantasy XV SPOILER THREAD

Yep. That was one of the game's most exhilarating moments for me. Honestly if they went more all-out with their setpieces, like with that one and the Leviathan fight and all the summons, the game would've been the epic eye-fest we never knew we were waiting for since the last Bayonetta. I seriously would be down for a FFXV-2 with more of those God of War moments plus melodramatic orchestral music in the background peppered in lol. (sigh) If only.

Nah, no FFXV-2.

It's better if years down the road, Nomura got to give it FF7r treatment.

yea, I know. But you'd think you would be able to tame him. I guess that doesn't work in this game's lore.

Also, very happy for sexy Shiva design. So sexy.

Well, again, he can't really be tamed. None of the Astrals are tamed, they just decide you are worthy. Ifrit wants everyone dead, including the other Astrals.

Sexy Shiva is always sexy. But she looked a little plain and pandering to me. I was hoping she would appear as a giant, like Ramuh, because it is funny for me to imagine this humongous naked woman visible from towns miles away.

Pornstar Shiva and Cindy sucked.

They did "sexy Shiva" in the past, even right down to pans of her boobs and butt, without doing something as blatant as that stupid pandering harem summon.

I doubt we'all see direct sequels. It'll be most likely DLC instead.
I think this is for the best. There's a lot they can fine tune with XV to make it a perfect experience. I hope Tabata sticks with it. As lazy and awkward as it is to keep updating a game like that after it is released, I'd rather them do that than have a KOTOR 2 situation where the game just sits unfinished for a decade.

Yeah or if nothing else since Tabata said they'd like to overhaul the game if/when it came to PC maybe they will make a definitive edition with new content and all the DLC, sort of like Dark Souls 2 got with Scholars of the First Sin. I'd certainly double dip if they improved the current shortcomings and added some cool new bosses.

Unless I just haven't gotten to the good post game stuff, no WEAPON, Ultros, or Marilith optional boss fights sucks :(

It's really let me down, it's like FF XIII in that regard. Just a bunch of re-skins. Really wish they'd put more unique optional bosses in the game again. In this it's just what...the adamantoise?

Yeah I could see something like this happening down the line.

Even still, with the incoming DLC and patches it almost feels like inserting missing pieces into a puzzle that shoulda had them to begin with. It would be cool to get to see more of this setting in a fresh new round, but since that is less than likely, the DLC will have to make do for now. >_< Hopefully they at least shed light on some other muddy details in each episode.

You could blame Nyx for those. /s

But yeah it sucks we don't at least get a hidden Weapon fight. >_<

Hoho, the giant statue during the train section was quite a tease for giant Shiva.

The more naked the better. FFVIII Shiva is still my fave design in the series. I don't hate pandering :D

I am also really bummed out about that. Especially after watching Kingsglaive and seeing that multiple diamond weapons exist in this world.

I think that was supposed to be her frozen corpse lol.

Oh really? Quite a corpse.

The chapter was called "End of Days" and greeted you with this giant Goddess' corpse. Very haunting imagery. I loved it.

I agree, the game was certainly rushed on the back half and is missing explanations for events that happen all throughout. It would have been great to have everything from the start but delaying it any further probably wasn't much of an option for them. Getting the complete experience for FF XV is going to be long-lived experience, which might be fine provided the additional content is comprehensive enough at filling the gaps and addressing the issues that exist in the game in its current state.

If you look closer at the scene, you'll see a vague scene where Shiva's body/head area is chained down. It's kinda sad.

Despite the fact that I wasn't keen on being stuck in a train for most of the late game, I did quite like that you were really traversing the world via train. If you check the mini-map, you are always moving somewhere, and if you check the main map, you realize that the train is literally moving. It was a nice touch (and also made me sad we couldn't traverse that continent to our leisure :( )

>30% chance it's added in as a cutscenes later on.
I really hope not. One of the major reasons why it's so haunting and powerful of an image is because we don't know what exactly happened. Of all the off screen stuff that happens in this game, I hope this stays off screen.

Extra disappointed they didn't really let you dwell in the area and let the characters discuss what happened before the fight happened.

The hilarious thing is people not even understanding that the 'statue' is actually Shiva's corpse is the perfect proof of how utterly inept this game's story is far too frequently. It's madness that the empire killing Shiva is relegated to an optional, easily missable radio report out in the world. I'm not saying we should see the fight - I think it's more impactful to just see the corpse - but really it should've been something discussed by the cast in an unmissable scene, given its importance.

Wait, so there's the Imperial base you get the Regalia back from, then the one you do the tracking/tailing mission in, then the optional one with the ambush and Loqi's encore.

But there's like 6 bases on the map.

Are a bunch of them seriously unused and inaccessible?

Anyone?

Sad thing was I paid attention to all the notes and radios too. Guess it was hard to see it as a corpse for me at the time.

I've seen mentions of optional scenes that pop up but I'm unclear on how you get them. I've seen a picture with Noctis and Prompto talking on the roof of a motel (Longwythe I think?). Does that one only show up after certain times and do they close up later?

Even Noct passing by the radio and hearing the report, and then mulling to himself "Shiva is... dead?" Would have worked wonders.

I didn't like Bahamut as a knight mainly because the knight role should have been filled by KOTOR.
It kinda was, though. Bahamut was just a bigger and badder knight.

It happened when I rested at an area and I guess the Motel there triggered it. So try resting at some outposts.

I'll have to try that then. I only did it in Chapter 1 before they find out about Insomnia, so maybe it'll work now.

There's also an awesome extended rest scene when you rest at Caem. One of the non-voiced ones.

Oh nice.

I really liked the random scenes. Curious if Glady and Iggy have their own scenes with Noct like with Prompto.

Castlemark dungeon was a waste of time. I needed two tries to clear it because during the first one, as soon as I reached the end of the fourth mini-dungeon, the camera bugged and I couldn't slide the wall in order to proceed. So I needed to do all over again, and the final boss in the dungeon is very dumb.

Finished it this morning. I enjoyed it overall. Luna is the absolute worst thing in this game. Fight with Aranea was possibly my favorite point.

All things considered, FFXV's Shiva is much closer to her older designs. I think the current-generation graphics just make her look more explicit. I mean, look at IX's.

Btw, what's your favorite?

XII Revenant Wings

I really like IX and Dissidia Shiva.

Revenant Wings is the worst, XI is the best

XIII and Type-0 make me laugh, although not unironically

They do. I got a quest with just Gladio after using a camp where we gathered a flower for noct to give to iris.
