Maybe this piece of human garbage should learn some actual History, like the fact that white people didn't start slavery but they were the first to end it. Also I didn't realize Europe was in Valisthea.
Yeah I like how they don't understand that they are straight up being racist as fuck themselves by stereotyping Europeans as evil slave owners in a made up game created by Japanese developers.

Seriously fuck these racist cunts.

I swear, outlets like Polygon and Eurogamer should be barred from score aggregators with their worthless and nonsencial criticism. Its their not-so-subtle attempt to drag down, borderline sabotage momentum, games that don't adhere to bulletin points on their agendas.

88. A bit higher than I expected. Gonna read/watch some of those later to see if that score will rise/sink a bit more, but I've seen a few confirming that the RPG mechanics are indeed shallow(As we all suspected of this being a DMC inspired game), so I feel like this score should drop 2 or 3 points.

But I'll look at the scores first before solidifying any opinion.

If it would have scored like we hoped than it would have easily done above 10m on ps5 alone. The impact with these scores on sales are tremendous. I dont care either but I can assure you that we won't get a budget this big around for the next main game.
the way I see it it “scored” pretty damn good, most people seemed to enjoy both story and comba.

also it’s Final Fantasy, I’m pretty sure next mainline game is going have big budget.

I sometimes read gaming reviews but I ultimately don't care what journalists think. If I did care, I wouldn't have tried out gems like Wanted: Dead, Alpha Protocol, and others. Looking forward to get the collector's edition in the mail tomorrow!

No matter if it's better than 15 with these scores it will stay in the same sales range. I hoped for something like sqaures elden ring or sqaures monster hunter world. Imo that won't happen now but we will still enjoy a good game. Cheers.

I wish so many didn’t shed so much light on the less than super positive reviews. I mean this for all games. And instead of just brushing them off, so many try to discredit or act like it’s invalid. I just don’t get it. Feels weird me trying to keep it positive in a FF16 review thread, lol. But I think it’s just the state of negativity from posters is getting old to me.

Until people start boycotting(since they love boycotting games) Eurogamer, polygon, kotaku, and DF (cause eurogamer) nothing will change. Developers need to stop giving them interviews and review copies as well. Don't click on their shit, don't follow them, don't interact with them at all.

Is anyone aware if the German version of this game is censored? I saw that is USK 16 while everywhere else is 18/Mature.

Gotta say, I’ve become a bigger fan of reviews lately. Not to tell me about the game, but just to signal what outlets/reviewers aren’t worth the paper they write on.
Try "none of them except the ones that agree with you".

And i dont mean that sarcastically.

Thanks for posting mine earlier.
Ya game is good, but in a series that has had no problem changing, there are times when this feels close to unrecognizable.
This is why I’m torn.

I don’t know how to interpret this. Is this supposed to be a good thing or a bad thing?

Eurogamer doesn't count this week!!

^Well said. I actually NEVER go by media reviews of games. I go by my own research, based on the genre, youtube videos or Twitch video plays, and if it looks like it appeals to me. I am not gonna buy a game just because it got a 10/10. I am not NOT gonna buy a game because it got a 5/10.

That said, I do READ reviews because I enjoy gaming and I love to read about games.

Yup i don't understand why developers give these places so much power. Shut off their water. Sony and Square and their business partners should immediately cooperatively boycott them. No interviews, no review copies, etc for any of their games.

Idk why anyone is surprised. I think I officially stopped reading reviews when Days Gone released and these sorry ass writers complained about "Another White male character" and "Zombies are all white" to knock the game. They'll tank the score of anything that doesn't tick off some diversity box for them. It's disgusting.

Dated gameplay?

Tell me another game that does exploration like Bethesda, for that we simply have to wait their next game that is gonna be released in September.
Bethesda’s exploration is incredibly basic. Slow walking through a procedurally generated forest or a simple dungeon isn’t exactly what I would consider note worthy.

BIG + OPEN does not always equal interesting. FromSoft games are far superior IMO.

Probably a good action game but a bad Final Fantasy game. Seems like it'll be a double edged sword in the long run. But we'll see once I take a look at the narrative myself.

Don't think I can comment on story until I've seen it but I imagine if it's a 50 hour slog to get to Hard Mode not many will be enticed to play through the same game twice.

If the story does not pan out well and is mediocre overall that would be unsurprising given the storytelling in Endwalker which FFXVI is written by mostly the same people.
