Totally. I thought she was Lucina at first glance.

You know, I've never realized it, but Fire Emblem Mounted units don't use glaives
Why not? I wanna see some Green Crescent Dragon Blade action.
I've just realised - if there are Fire Emblem designed coverplates for the New 3DS to coincide with the new game, I'll be practically obligated to upgrade from my old 3DS XL.
Don't need them in PoR. Just level the base class to 21 and you'll Class Change automatically. Of course, if you're level 20 and in the Base, you might as well use a Master Seal to save the EXP.huh playing through Path of Radiance again I just noticed there's almost no Master Seals at all
lol

I thought the whole three tier thing was a bit pointless. In practice it was pretty much 2-tier.

....I see the announcement didn't provide much of a long-term boost
does anyone know how the stats for harder difficulties in FE11-13 are generated?
Yeah, I know it's the same style and artist, but I really wish they'd put more into making the characters not look like Fire Emblem Awakening characters.
Maybe we should have some waifu talk here
Please don't.

I'm fine with an Awakening 2 because I believe they can use it to improve on the new stuff they added.
The good thing is that the story and the setting look anything but derivative.
For better or worse, this is Awakening 2.
It gives me the impression its a very derivative sequel, but, i guess there is nothing wrong with that, i really liked Awakening, including its art direction, kinda wish it was on a more powerful system, but then the game would not sell.
Thoughts on this new FE game getting localized faster due to:
- Uber success of FEA in NA &
- Global debut across all Nintendo Directs (contrast with FEA's debut)
Naive to expect simultaneous global release?
The fact that there's already one recruitable enemy (that one Troubadour) seen so far makes me happy.
I don't know why... but Awakening only having 3ish recruitable enemy units bothers me >.>
...And yeah, this artist does have sameface issues.
I've just picked up Fire Emblem 7 again after a long break and hoping to finish it. Lowen has just become a level 20 Paladin. Is that it for a character once they have reached level 20 in their 2nd class? Can he become any stronger?
Not just the troubador, but Marx is clearly on the "western army" and you see him being player controlled in several scenes.
Level 20 promoted is the highest they get. You can use stat boosters on stats that aren't capped if you really want to I guess.
We do? I must've missed it...
-goes to watch the trailer for the 15th time-
Also note that he doesn't seem to have the skull shaped shields the rest of the "Western" army has.

My only worry is that there will only be two armies. I always liked the political aspect of FE, different nations with different goals that may or may not be allies based on the situation.

so who's going to be the Naesala of this game then?
you know, pretty much every single game has had a god/dragon as a plot point and/or antagonist, it'd be nice if this game actually didn't have it for once, but I'm not expecting it
I'd be very surprised if the shadow dragon choking the dancer didn't show up again. Though it'd be nice if the only final antagonists were human, with the lone dragon / deity ultimately on your side or possessing your avatar benevolently.
Well, If RD didn't exist, PoR technically avoids the whole "A dragon did it" plotline.
the threat of the medallion, and how Ashnard uses it to power up, still counts, as Yune is a goddess
You know what'd be cool?
If they made the avatar the final boss.
I'd say so, we don't have a release date or title whereas Japan does, plus Japan just gets stuff earlier than NA/EU anyway.
In fact, when was the last simultaneous globally released game from Nintendo?
ORAS was a global release, though Pokemon is a much bigger franchise than Fire Emblem.
I... um... I'm not sure how to reply to this.
Do you not count Awakening? I think that's the closest we'll ever get to the Avatar being the final boss, though he is possessed.
No, that doesn't count.
I'm talking about the avatar being there of their own volition (doesn't necessarily have to be good or bad, just opposite of the main Lord's ideals).
Like throughout the game you're presented options. Whichever you take, the main Lord chooses the other option, or something like that.
At the end of the game, you'll be controlling the main Lord and facing down the avatar, who's on the opposing side of your decisions.
