I understand your point, but that's not really the point of Gacha games.

Gacha games are gambling softwares designed to look like a franchise people love enough to spend their money on it. It's not designed to be repayable or very dense, they just want your money and will balance things out in a way to keep you interested to keep spending money.
Other gacha games have more things to do than this game. Here there is a single GHB map and that's it for the week.

Would you guys use one of the 3 Ursula for Threaten RES 3 on Celica? Could give Threaten RES 2 through Oboro for 2k feathers, same cost as Ursula but Oboro is not as limited. Just don't see myself getting another Nowi soon. Feels weird to not go all in when I already gave her stuff like Life and Death 3...

I would give Celica everything and anything had I got one.
Yeah, if you aren't stingy with L&D you certainly should not be with Threaten Res, unless you really are into horse emblem but in that case you would have wanted Reinhardt or Olwen anyway.

Well, at least there seems to a new wave of maps with defensive tiles in this week's arena? I don't think I recognize them from 2 weeks ago. Also on a lighter note, although I don't plan to play arena on my main account at Tier 18, I don't mind playing on my alt at T16 (T10->T13->T16) for some simple fun. Just got this hilarious mirror matchup.

I was laughing so hard that I almost had problem figuring out which side I was controlling. LMAO The battle was easy though, even when the enemy units are all +2 ~ 4 while I have none but +1 on Reinhardt.

It should be easy for my alt to get promoted to T17 next week, while my main gets demoted back to T17. It would be hilarious if my two accounts actually get to matched up with each other. lol That probably won't happen with advanced though, as it normally pitches you against teams with considerably higher team strength score. But I might try intermediate if I'm bored, just for shits and giggles.

So using character with full inherited skill will get higher points in Arena?
Been using default Ninian for a while(missing Special and A skill)
And getting max 680/win.
Does it mean filling those empty spot will increase the points?

D'oh, perfect run in hand with a full team with full HP against an 8HP Hector and I forget to check for vantage and attack with Nino lol. I had Xander and Olivia in range too, dunno why I do that sometimes.

Anyway finished with one death, as of now I'm guessing that'll keep me in Tier 17 but that might not be a bad thing. The competitor in me wants Tier 18 though but I don't want to use anymore crests. I'll just slow play it the rest of the week.

Yes. Not only the number of skills, but also the level of the skills. For example, Atk + 3 yields more points than Atk + 1; Aether yields more points than Luna.

Hmm, I'm starting to feel a little burnout with this game now. Certainly not checking in like I used to in the past few days. Just not that motivated anymore, nothing to do with pulls or rng or anything, just lack of motivation.

Hell i got destroyed thrice when i am paired with cecilia +9. Like what the hell. Balance this shit IS.T-T

That is good to know, probably could use Aether on my Ike instead of Luna, but that cost is seriously too damn high.
Always thought only skill with stats increase the point gain.
Been holding on building Ninian as Azura is superior to her. Ninian need to get Lightning breath+ from 5* as well as many other skills.
 
Ran into a horse emblem team. Close counters and distant counters on everyone. It was that wide open map with defense tiles everywhere. Almost made it flawless but I screwed up attacking Xander at the end and charging bonfire for him. If he didn't have it my Sanaki would have lived 1 HP.

I'm a huge fan of the series, but like many others i feel to "lose motivation" to even just open the app.

Other than training tower there is nothing to do if you set yor arena rank.
Literally there is no content to play with if you are here from day 1.



Dev should find a fast solution to that, but i don't think that a new story chapter or gauntlet or the new "perma death mode" will change something.

There is the need of something more radical, like:

Monthly REAL rewards
Daily quests that rewards the player from play the game in all the modes (not just arena)
1 NEW gbh every week and 1 OLD gbh
New mode that can be played multiple times on the day, that grant sp + rewards (skills/weapons for heroes)


Sometimes is better to look the competitors rather than try to reinventing the wheel

I agree with all of you on this unusual drought and unless I'm imagining things the past week or so might have been the longest period of nothingness since launch. I really hope they are about to bring something big.

Fortunately, I'm busy enjoying SoV so I'm not be as fed up; I might even call it perfect timing.

The reason everyone is bored is because there is no significant RNG in this game.
What they should have done with those lame 1-2 Star hero things from the beginning was make you collect 10 fragments to get that 1-2 star and have them drop at 10% rate at best. They should have removed SP gaining from level-ups and added another gate on top of the SP, say a random rare drop to access the best skills on your characters. Also for GHB, give them random skills after first clear to fuck you over.

Oh wait, it's not that kind of game.
 
They should have an event where you have a chance to receive a token when completing a map. Have it 2 kind. 1 easier, 1 harder. Collecting x amount of token gives a new Hero.
The people who coĺlect the most receive another hero based on their ranking.

Tons of f2p games have these kinds of mode and they are usually fun.

Nearly got a flawless run but lost to a flier team on the new lava map, just my luck. Burned a sword as well just to complete my run. I was tempted to cancel the fight when I saw Palla and really regret not doing it now. Guess I'll try again tomorrow...
 
I'm liking the new maps. The new boat map may become a problem though. There is just nowhere to go on that map, luckily the team I faced on that map had a rally skill on their only mage, Julia, and she never pressed forward until the end.

damn, I forgot my tablet at home. I guess other than arena and leveling Sanaki there isn't much for me to do, though.

As for the lack of content, I found it odd that Lloyd's Grand Hero Battle is going to last so long. They typically don't run those alongside other events. Would suck if we have to wait until the end of the week for something new...at least I wish they'd give us details on the new mode.

Either way, I've mostly just spent 'downtime' leveling more characters. I've got around 40 maxed out now, I think. I'd have more motivation to level characters if they brought back double SP on a regular basis though...

I don't even know that it would be legal to have permadeath for characters in a gatcha game. A lot of people seem to be clinging to this because of the feature in the regular FE games, but you can reset in the regular FE games.

Those are great ideas. I don't agree with the notion of its not that kind of ideas, though.

Sure, I understand it's not a rpg and I'm not expecting it. However, there are many things they can do within the framework that will make simple grinding more meaningful and something to look forward to without making huge changes. Gambling aspect is fine to me as I can keep hoping one day I'll be lucky as long as the process is somewhat enjoyable not tedious.

Those free daily character challenges must be replaced by something better in that sense. I stopped caring for it months ago, and I'm sure I'm not alone in this.

they've said that it would only be for that mode, you wouldn't lose them for real. But we have almost no other details.

they've definitely tried to push the 'keep everyone alive' gameplay in other modes. Deathless streaks in arena, defense maps and GHB, quests that require everyone to live. I'm super curious about the new mode but they have been so very quiet about it.

It's been, what, 3 months? If you are a gacha veteran, you know that this is just how these games are. If you are in the game to start, you'll always reach the end of content. I mean, these are free games. They are not meant for 3 hour a day play.

I always say that, if you reach the point of "why log in", then just take a few months off. Come back and the game will be totally different with a ton to do. But if you play 3 hours a day, you'll always be pushing against the wall.

That notwithstanding, the easiest way to engage players is to give them more than 3 arena attacks a day. Arena is the best part of the game imo, so why not give them 3 attacks and let attacks regenerate once per hour or something?

GBH battles are just not good content for what they are imho. The other issue I have is the art direction is rather subpar.

I often don't even bother trying for the 4-star version if it takes more than a couple of attempts. 2k feathers is easy enough to get to make up the difference, and It's unlikely that I am going to spend 40k feathers getting both copies up to 5-stars for a +1 or a skill feed.

Yeah the daily quest disappearance was a bit bizarre. I thought it was a great addition.

They gave out like 80 of those Arena swords, so I suppose that they are waiting for people to blow through their stash first. I still have around 50, and we get over a dozen free ones a month.

I never really went all in with min/maxing the Arena stuff. I try for a decent score, and then stop for the week. The only time I blow through swords is during the voting gauntlet, where you need 10 battles every 2 days, but only get 6 free ones. If it wasn't for those, I wouldn't even use up the free ones we get weekly/monthly.

I'm still spending most of my time in the training tower at this point. I don't play 3 hours a day, so I still have good stuff to level and skill sets to grind out to completion (RIP 6 sp battles!)

Looking for meaning in GAF
So I pulled the trigger on my ATiki experiment and she's coming along well. Hopefully I can start fielding her in arena to see how she does.

Ended up putting Defense 3 + Quick Riposte 2 on her.

She was rough at first in Training Tower, but she's doing much better once she got to 5* and got her upgraded weapon. She's kind of odd in that she takes very little damage from anything physical, almost regardless of color (except for gem weapons and TA characters), but is very weak to magic of any sort. The high defense means that she usually stays in QR range for more than one fight, and the free double from QR makes her heavily damage or kill anyone who doesn't have high res. Bonfire means she can occasionally kill people that she normally wouldn't win against. Bonfire also charges extremely fast because everyone doubles or quads her, which sounds worse than it is because she doesn't take much damage from anyone she wants to fight anyway. Brave weapon are actually terrible against her because the lower weapon damage seems to take them below the threshold needed to punch through 40ish defense.

All in all, this build seems to make her a specialist, but not in the traditional TA color triangle way. She's kind of an all-or-nothing in a fight. Either she's taking 0-4 damage and charging Bonfire/counter killing everyone for free, or she's getting doubled for 20+ by anyone past a certain threshold of attack, or pretty much any magic user.

Who are the main members of Horse Emblem? I haven't had an defense win in 2-3 weeks, so I need to mix it up.

Reinhardt is big. I also use Xander and Titania, and I see them fairly often in arena.

Ursula and Cecilia with Blade tomes are also common members.

The world doesn't need more cavalry defense teams, dammit. But if you must...

Green: Cecilia + Gronnblade tome. Titania can be awesome, but I wouldn't trust the AI with her.
Blue: Reinhardt or Ursula + Blarblade, Reinhardt is more effective than Ursula when AI controlled but at this point he's such a meme that people have to bring hard counters to him to even hope to do arena. Olwen can be stupidly strong with the right setup, she's one of the few units I dodge when I see them as the leader because I expect her to be fully whaled out at this level.
Red: I'd go Xander or Eldigan if you have them. Try Swordbreaker + Bonfire on them. Quick Riposte isn't quite as useful in the AI's hands, but it's a good option too. Leo is another option if you've got him...he may be terrible, but his tome's special effect (gravity) can catch someone unawares.

For the fourth unit you'd want your bonus unit for points, but if that is covered by your main 3, include a wings of mercy dancer. I've lost units because I tried to counter kill a suicide Eldigan, he survived, then got a teleport-dance and nuked someone with Bonfire.

Leo or Eldigan could be used too, though they've both only been on one banner from what I remember, so I don't imagine many people have them. The above at least offers easier to get options.

You'll want to get the cavalry buff C-skills, it's what makes the team so unstoppable imo.

One of those can be dropped for a bonus unit, probably Titania/Frederick, or Cecilia if you don't have skills inhereted/the feathers to get her to 5*.

I'm going the 4 star merged route with Cecilia.... I can get her to 40+5 as a 4 star which is the same strength as s 5 star and far cheaper.

Normal grondblade is fine too with horse buffs

My horse team will eventually be...

Xander / 4 star 40+5 Celcilia / Ursula (unless I get rein to drop) and Camus when he comes out.
 
My horse team is Xander, Elise, Rein, and Eldigan who will be replaced by Camus when he arrives. I am at a point where I am contemplating merging units because their score with vanilla BST is pretty lame.

Elise with Wrathful Staff has been a huge surprise to me.

My horse team is Rein, Cecilia, Xander and Olwen. I think you can get by with most any horses as long as you have a strong caster or two in the group and the proper buffs.

ATiki is working well so far in arena. I replaced Ryoma with her, and now I'm getting 688-692 per match pretty regularly.
