There is a "plus" button for me, or just use ctrl+t :p

but where the hell is that "add RSS feed" button o_0 edit: no more in the address bar, it's now under customize...

Anyway to remove the graphic icons next to my bookmarks in the toolbar? They all don't fit on one tab bar now.
What I did was right click on the word Bookmarks, then select Menu Bar.

It doesn't look great but at least there's room for all my bookmarks now.

Just downloaded it. First time to use FF4(IE, no RC for me) and I love it. It feels a lot more lightweight and agile.

Is there some way to fix the font? It's too small for me now.

Is disabling hardware acceleration the only way to make text not look terrible?

Unfortunately. I've had a lot of problems with programs using DirectWrite, including both Firefox and Steam. Text just looks all distorted and fuzzy.

Mine defaulted to £ but I changed the url in the OP from en-US to en-GB, you can probably do what BitchTits said.
Sorry what, how?

I did try what BT said (thanks btw) but that just takes me to the one that shows only UK search results. Ideally I want the google.co.uk default search - ie. if I search, it shows me things from UK sites, but also sites that are worldwide too

(for example, using the Google.co.uk search plugin, sites like NeoGAF, Wikipedia etc don't show up)

Oh, duh. I fixed it. Right click bookmarks >>> customize....and just hit show text instead of icons and text.

Surprising popularity in Europe.

Firefox has always been popular in Europe (I think it's like 50% of the market now)

and America is just waking up so except those numbers to jump soon-ish.

Is there something like Auto HD for Youtube -like addon for this? That's the only thing keeping me from swithing permanently from Chrome.

A lot of stuff like that can be done with greasemonkey scripts.

Anyone elses back button look squished like mine? Installed FF4 on a friends laptop today too and it looks like this.

Mine looks oval on a new install of 4 on my work laptop. Not when using small buttons though, since its square.

That actually fixed it, cheers. Switched to small buttons then switched back and it's circular again.

Some fonts look kinda blurry/pixelated to me. I read that this may be due to the new hardware acceleration feature. Anyone else experience this?

I would say close to everyone. I disabled that shit immediately.

Go to 'Bookmarks' and select 'Bookmark All Tabs'. Just save it anywhere (bookmarks menue, toolbar, whatever). Install FF4 and re-open that bookmark file with a single click. It'll take a little bit to download everything again if you are on a slow connection, but it won't be that bad. :)

Of course! Thank you!!

Just wondering, is everyone who's having terrible looking fonts running ATI cards? I think it might be a driver thing.
I can tell you that I had no issue and that I'm running an NVidia card.

I've got it on two ATI machines, one desktop and one laptop, both look fine.

Here is what I did to get correct looking fonts (exactly the same as chrome for me) in FF4:
about:config in the address bar

gfx.direct2d.disabled to True.
And make sure that gfx.font_rendering.directwrite.enabled is set to False (should be by default)
Did the trick for me, and I didn't lose hardware accelerated webgl.

I remember the early days of Chrome when the absence of extensions made me stick to Firefox. Once Chrome opened up its extensions gallery, however, there was no looking back. Now, aside from various speed/usability advantages that Chrome has IMO, there are extensions for Chrome that have no equal in Firefox.

Here are some Chrome extensions that I can't live without and have no Firefox equivalent:

- Google Mail Checker Plus
- Google Tasks

There are some others that work better in Chrome than in Firefox, but those two are the ones that simply have no equivalent Firefox add-on.

But regardless of what extensions are being used, Chrome has grown into a much superior browser to Firefox IMO. It's faster, more standards-driven, and has better extensions and built-in features (native user script support, PDF reader, built-in Flash that auto-updates... etc.) than Firefox or pretty much any other browser. Don't flame me, Opera users... :)

Yeah! I really like it. Less UI clutter and it is snappier overall.
Yeah, decided to take the jump after learning about how easy the uninstall process is. The only thing that seems to be broken for me is the Dragon Age facebook flash game. It's basically unplayable for some reason.

While I agree Chrome is great, I always try ait and move back to FF when I realize chrome still has issues with animated gifs and large numbers of images. Browsing gaf for a day or two quickly makes that apparent.

One thing I really like about the new browser is that you can click the middle mouse button on a link to open it in a new tab. I'm not sure if previous versions of Firefox did this but I just started using it. My middle mouse button is a little wonky.

Does anyone know how to remap that function to a different mouse button?

I've been able to do that for years. It really depends on if you map your middle mouse button as "Button 3" and not something else.
