Horizon: Call of the Mountain. Their next project, in the making since 2020, is seemingly an Until Dawn sequel of some sorts.Have they even really shipped a game under PS?
I think they were involved in that Horizon VR game, which I just assume hasn't sold very well - like most VR titles.Have they even really shipped a game under PS?
That's my personal method too.1. Consolidate
2. Don't release games
3. ?????
4. Profit
The kanji in the name is peak cringe. It's a British studio. Sony shut down its Japanese studios and replaced them with the gaming equivalent of an MMA bro with a random Chinese character etched on their chest.
Yetthe studio is not shutting down.
It's Katakana not kanji but agree with you man, it's peak cringe for western weebs to use this. The kanji in the name is peak cringe. It's a British studio. Well, in their beginnings Firesprite were usual collaborators of Japan Studio, particularly the Team Asobi, in both The Playroom (2013) and The Playroom VR (2016).The kanji in the name is peak cringe. In OPs defense, they probably saw this typical social media image with a couple walls of text on the inside, noticed that the first sentence mentioned redundancies, assumed that the rest of the text revolved around an announcement of the studio's closure and just went to make the thread in a rush in order to not get beaten at it byI don't even know how you get that they're closing out of that tweet. Being an ESL is not an excuse.
Yeah the tweet almost sounds like the opposite. That they didn't want to say anything until the 'consultancy' period was over because more jobs or perhaps the whole studio were on the line. Now the sword of damocles has been lifted they can give their condolences.People need to stop posting misleading thread titles and outright misinformation.
The studio isn't shutting down. They've done a reorg and let some people go. This is just a message acknowledging that.

People on GAF were crying around 2012/2013 about them not being Japanese enough due to Puppeteer.so at that point I'd say their true Japanese-ness as an organization wasn't as pure as the internet Japan Studio crybabies would otherwise let you to believe.
All according to keikaku.I feel they should really remove the Katakana subscript from their logo. They are based in fucking Liverpool.
Now in 2024, they cry about how they want "Japanese games" like Puppeteer back.People on GAF were crying around 2012/2013 about them not being Japanese enough due to Puppeteer.
Why? It's an aesthetic choice, lol.I feel they should really remove the Katakana subscript from their logo. They are based in fucking Liverpool.
Only for it to not get a thread with more than one page. Now in 2024, they cry about how they want "Japanese games" like Puppeteer back.

If I hadn't looked it up, I would've thought that this is a Japanese studio. Why? It's an aesthetic choice, lol.
It's not kanji, unless I am missing something. It's the script used to write foreign words. The kanji in the name is peak cringe. It's a British studio. Should have been locked by now and someone competent set up another thread without clickbait. Why is this topic still opened?

Even if they're from Liverpool they worked in several projects for Sony, and I think their logo is super cool in this way.I feel they should really remove the Katakana subscript from their logo. They are based in fucking Liverpool.
Yes: making games inside Sony, as they are now.I think we all know where MM, Haven, Neon Koei and Firesprite will be in 2 years from now.
They simply cancelled a game and fired some people. They'll continue working on new games as they did before, some in a support position and others in a lead position. It's unlikely Sony will shut doen Firesprite, they would more likely become a support studio
