Speaking for PC, update 1 and 2 seem to have resolved my stutter. The framerates could have been higher for the kind of game this is, but at least I'm always over 30fps.
Why you would even compare potential hyperbole to finding FOV-caused nausea funny is beyond me.sorry, but no more so than the 'broken/unplayable' hyper-sensitivity...
Has the game been patched so that it is reasonable to buy/play now? I'm looking forward to eventually jumping into this game.
on PS4? not yet.
soon though according to the devs.

Contact the developers. I've seen them offer save game repair.Day two of being stuck. Giving myself motion sickness trying to get my game back into a playable state.

That's good. I'll wait then.

Also, we're going to keep looking for ways to make the game better on all platforms.

Ugh. Guess I'll wait for another one before starting the game.Woop! Downloading now! 3.1GB
Update: Still getting stuttering and pop ups.

That's a shame. Same amount of stutter or less? Is there an FOV slider or anything?
Same amount to be honest and no FOV slider.
They probably (well hopefully) fixed the game crashing bugs. That's after all more important, and also something that they can fix on their own.Woop! Downloading now! 3.1GB

Basically everything was covered with an extra layer of ground. Luckily I could walk through it because even restarting the game didn't fix this Oo

patched, played a bit. not super smooth but feels like a huge improvement.
controls still feel wonky. is it locked to 30fps now?
i think it's in a playable state for me now

They definitely did cap the frame rate to 30. Feels much smoother and overall more responsive because of the consistency. Pop-in has also been noticeably reduced. For reference, I beat the game the day it came out.
Ok.....I think it may be finally time to buy this. I don't have any plans for the next couple days, so this would be great to play.
Guys...should I go for it??? I've wanted this since launch!!

If I was on PS4, I'd still hold off.
For sure, it's very enjoyable to play through! Not sure about replayability, although I'm starting a new playthrough where I'm just going to be a dick to anyone and everything. The dialogue is the best for a video game in a while for me and is the main reason for the game getting my attention way back when it was first shown. Also, I'd recommend checking out the bundle for the game that comes with the theme. It's probably the nicest looking game related theme on PS4 right now.

Based on my experience they did cap it.Not according to Eurogamer:
Have you played it since the patch was implemented?
Yeah, that theme looks amazing! I'll definitely go for the bundle.

I did a whole article and video of the game for today...and now I have to re-do the whole thing as they implemented the two things that I suggested would fix it.
It was pretty clear to me that capping at 30fps fix most of the issues - and I was right. It did. I don't think they could hit 60fps, however. Unfortunately, most Unity games are not so lucky.Just buy it, it won't go on sale for a while and you're obviously eager to play it.
If it doesn't meet your personal technical standard, you can just stop playing and continue later.
That's what I'm doing. But I'm giving the new patch a go this weekend.
For real? You've said before it would be near-impossible to fix the framerate, right? Did they pull it off?

So with the patch, are we good to go? I haven't bought the game yet, was waiting on the performance to be better and glitches fixed, etc

I want to know this as well. Firewatch is the first game I just couldn't finish with those issues.
