Karnak does not look edgy enough. Crystal is good. Maximus is Iwan Rheon indeed. Everyone else should go back to the porno they escaped from.
 
Guys... this is an EW shoot. They can make anything look cheap and unexciting even when it's not.

It could end up being a good movie but it's going to be a shitty tv series. Looks like a C-tier tv show
 
Medusas power is one of those that only works good in a comic. On a movie or tv screen it would/will look redicious.

Also, I'm sure they've toned Bolts power down cause never having one of the main cast never talk probabaly isn't appealing to them.

Seriously, I honestly don't know what people were expecting with this. Did you seriously think that ABC were going to churn out a Game Of Thrones style, epic production?

I don't agree with this. In a movie, if afforded the appropriate budget, Medusa's hair could be pure visual fun. You just need to be imaginative.
 
Is Ken Leung gonna hug people to death in this one, too? I'm super amused he went from playing a mutant to a not-a-mutant-but-totally-a-mutant.

But what makes you believe that this, an ABC production from the same outfit that brought you AoS, will look any different from this?

Are you seriously expecting this to be a near cinematic (in terms of production values etc) in it's execution?
 
You guys want the lowered expectations with this series. Then you can fill the OT with "it wasn't that bad actually" like Iron Fist.

People were actually kinda excited for Iron Fist until we started getting footage and reviews though. I don't think there's any hype for this, at all.
 
They had an occasion to diversify an all-white crew, and they manage to go all in on stereotypes.
The wise and mysterious person is now an older asian dude
The powerful temperamental person is now a big black dude

I'll be shocked if this isn't 85% green screen with cheap effects a la V and Once Upon A Time. Same shitty acting and plot twists as well. ABC churns these thing out like CBS used to do crime dramas.

Very few things make me embarrassed to be a lifelong Marvel fanboy, but seeing shit like this...

There's so much potential in adapting fully formed science fantasy comics for motion pictures, but at some point I get the idea that these people act get off on making it as bad as possible

Have they said how they're going to handle Black Bolt's lack of speaking? Because I just can't imagine hiring an actor to not talk for the entirety of the show. Wonder what dumb thing they'll try to get around him not being able to speak?
