The lighting on it looks spectacular, but the real time blurring and depth of field thing makes me want to call bullshit. That has got to take a helluva lot of computing power.

i'm wondering about the people who keep saying they're not impressed with the next gen screen shots, and how they can't see how things can get any better. my question is..how many of you need glasses?
the last time i looked out my window..it didn't look anything like these screenshots. they can't even grasp realism in movies yet..but you people seem to think that a 2nd generation ps3 game is going to do the job. what are you people smoking?
and to those who aren't impressed with the shots, you must be sharing with the others. last i checked..those are a huge improvement over any xbox game.

With Phatsaqs image though... its starting to come down to less impressive levels too. The body/pants are less cgish now. I think a lot of the greatness to the look actually comes from the very subdued colours.
They look like they're playing in a nuclear fallout.

i'm not sure what you people want. the game looks fucking incredible so far. look at the packed sidelines, the awesome snow effects, the wrinkles on the pants...
maybe i am seeing something that isn't too much to get impressed about cause im a diehard football fan, but if these pics "aren't impressive" then i'd like to be unimpressed for the rest of my life

wow, each new shot looks progressively better and better. this is rediculously awesome, and far better then i had anticipated. and somehow, i doubt EA is even pushing the graphical envelope with this.
i love the facial expression, the crazy lighting, the sidelines (i hope they arent 2d, but the way some of the players seem to repeat has me thinking they are)

What?Jerseys were pre crumpled and shit in ESPN NFL,it wasn't real time.In ESPN NBA they bounced up and down,thats about it...not to mention every ESPN game looked like it was made of clay...

..has more realistic looking faces than in Madden 2006 for a next gen console. But there is a point in hockey games having more advanced stadiums than football games. To do the ice requires lots of effects, the skate marks, the glass reflections even, the reflections on the ice, plus all of the shadows. But still, the players look wicked despite all this. Hockey has the benefit of having far less players on the ice. At the same time, it must be noted that the players on the bench have nearly the same amount of detail, just a far heavier LOD difference in the lower bodies.
Compare the real face (bottom left) to the virtual face. It's VIRTUALLY the same! ahah-cough
