First Madden 360 [RENDERED] shot!

That is what I thought when I played NFL2K for the first time on the Dreamcast. Remember how people were saying it looked like 'real life' at the time? It can always get better. Not that this means that Madden on PS3 will look any better, but there is almost always room for improvement.

The complaints I've read are absolutely, utterly mind-blowingly ridiculous. First gen of next-gen. That's what this is indicative of...and it's not fucking final yet. Hahahahaa...

With some already stating that PS3 madden will look better than madden on 360. Are you guys suggesting that the never before developed Cell technology has already surpassed supposedly super easy XNA framework before either has come out. The usual characters are here saying what I'd anticipate them saying. I'm just not seeing hardware with only 4 months in between them creating that much of a difference, especially as notable as some of you would have us believing. I'm calling bullshit until I see the two together, side by side

I never said the CELL/PS3 version of Madden looks better.

What I've heard though that the programmers at EA have been able to get better performance out of the PS3 almost immediately ... and yes, that's despite XNA and all that other goobledeygoop.

Its simply the better hardware.

The reason is not entirely due to the time gap between the two systems either. Sony by virtue of owning their own fabs can get certain kinds of technology for cheaper than would be otherwise possible with a "middle man". That's the upside to making such a huge infastructure investment -- the downside of course is if you're product fails, then you're in big shit.

The other thing I've heard is XBox 360, more or less is a $300 piece of hardware. Its very nice, cutting edge, but the PS3 follows the PS2 model, which means Sony is willing to lose a lot of money upfront because they feel its going to be the dominant game machine again. So its really more of a $400-$450 piece of tech on top of the manufacturing and the time advantage Sony has.

interesting for several reasons.
 
Of course the better consoles will give us better graphics? Diminishing returns what are some of you smoking?


Here are a few ideas that I doubt will be in 360 version of Madden.

1. Jerseys that aren't painted onto the player.
2. Jerseys that will be able to be grabbed by CB's and the likes who can't tackle.
3. Removable equipment. Helmets that don't pop of like corks. Shoulder pads that flex and move around the players body.
4. Better looking crowds.
5. Better particles. More snow. Snow that deforms like it does in VF4 and DOA.

Thats just five off of the top of my head. O yeah, we're about to hit the graphical ceiling... :lol
 
Figures how it always happens here, that a thread on a couple shots of an unrealeased game deteriorated into a X360 vs PS3 bitchfest. Enjoy the game for what it is, fucking fanboys....

No matter what they show, people are going to assume that the PS3 will shit all over it (and i don't think it's going to at all)

E3 is going to play out like this :

Xbox 2 overload, lots of kick ass games that are playable, great line up, ton of surprises
PS3 - a couple of videos of forth coming games and lots of talk.

"PS3 wins."

Thats why they had plans to unveil the PS3 early, but I think they considered it to be a bad move. When you consider that the Xbox360 will probably show more games at E3 and they may have gotten early info of the MTV unveiling. The unveiling in culver city on the Sony studios lot, should be something to remember.

The talk of PS3 version of Madden looking better is a little hard to believe though, unless the game will run with higher resolution textures and 1080i, which I doubt.

Well all I can is E3 is not that far away and you'll know for sure and you can decide for yourself which is the better system hardware wise. If I wanted to BS, I'd chose something a little more exotic, like say GB Next specs or some crap like that.

What other "stories" have I made up on these boards btw?
 
The only thing I'm finding funny is that people actually think we're arriving at some "end point" where we can't improve visuals anymore. I find that hilarious, if only for how narrowminded that is.

Everyone is assuming here. DCharlie's (and your own) scenario is assuming that PS3 won't be legitimately awesome and that there won't be a real reason to choose PS3 over Xbox 360. PS3 fans scenarios are basing their assumptions on the opinion (edited for clarity) that Xbox 360 will be obsolete because it won't have that visual advantage that Microsoft had, which is just as unfounded.

Everyone is assuming shit.

Personally, it looks to me through these promo shots that EA is FINALLY giving the NEW YORK FOOTBALL GIANTS the respect they deserve! Could it be the year we finally DON'T get shafted ratings wise? Even in their superbowl year they had shit ratings.

I don't know anything about Revolution. I don't even think EA has kits yet, even like basic ones. Dunno about any other developer.

The only reason I know about EA is because their flagship dev studio is in Vancouver, Canada, and I lived there for a few years and have a few friends there.

So you're claiming that all those things will be on the ps3 version but not on the 360. Keep dreaming. And everyone knows that the most powerful hardware rarely wins these console battles.
