Whether they have PS3 kits now or not, though, doesn't suggest anything about their choice of lead sku. Could be either, to be honest, it's hard to tell. Some argue that the least common denominator would be their lead sku (aka x360 in all likelihood), some argue that the system receiving the most EA games would be their lead (aka ps3 in all likelihood).

Well I am going to say. EA (at least Tiburon) LOVES the PS3 dev kit. When the visited UF this semester, they commented on how much loved the PS3 and how it is exponentially better than the PS2. Simply put, they mentioned the PS3 a lot more than X360.

We don't have full XBox 360 specs either, so I wouldn't say those were "leaked".
All I know is EA is very impressed with the PS3, and they do have real dev kits for both systems.

OK.....I must say I am blown away sofar.....
I really didn't think Madden 2006 Xbox 360 would look anywhere near the next gen renders but it is obvious to me that it is close enough.....
The first teaser both shows alot of detail and shows nothing at all, but the banner shows off the players better and I must say the graphics on Xbox 360 look out of this world.....
Best of all, this gives me hope the Xbox 360 version of Need4Speed: Most Wanted will look as good as this:
With Need4Speed UG2, EA has just about PERFECTED automobile engine sounds.....combined with next gen graphics???

holy crap, that is insane. pure and simple. no, it doesnt seem to look quite as good as the old cg pic, but then again, its zoomed in much closer, and is still a work in progress.

YES!! (to the fifa comment) this will be interesting I can only speak for myself and personally Im gonna prolly get both systems ( Im a sports graphics whore). When 360 comes out I'll get blown away and buy it and Madden, and of course six months later here comes Ps3 with even better graphics and I can expect to kiss another 300-500 dollars away... because obviously each section of EA you talk to will give you a different response.

I don't think Sony going to wait very long to launch their console, Sony going to lay it on thick. I expect a stream of info to come from them until May next year, with a launch shortly after.
If that shot is accurate then we're getting to a point of diminishing returns. What graphically could the ps3 do to improve on that shot? Render individual cells on the skin to zoom in on? Obviously, it may take a very long time to recreate real life so exactly that we can only have diminishing returns. There's so many complicated aspects to life that to do it all would really be quite the feat. But we can and will improve from what you see in these shots, and we still have quite a ways to go.

You know, I keep reading how the PS3 will completely surpass the 360 graphically but then we get pics like these Madden ones I have to think, "what the fuck is the point?" What exactly is the PS3 going to offer me over this? Better nostril rendering? I'm honestly starting to believe that the differences between the two will be negligible, especially when it comes to 3rd party games like this.
Edit: I basically just repeated what's already been said, but whatever.
