So happy to hear it's getting good reviews. I knew this would be in good hands once I found out Favreau was the director

at last, for christ's sake
I spent this morning reading the positive reviews of God's Not Dead 2 on rotten tomatoes this morning but I have faith in the reviews of this. Favreau is amazing.

The trailer sold me on the movie something fierce. One of the better trailers in recent memory actually. Glad the movie seems to be living up to it.

I saw the trailer today for the first time. I looked at my husband said, "Just because we can animate anything doesn't necessarily mean we should."

Shit was creepy. Like uncomfortable creepy. Everyone gonna have to fall all over themselves raving for me to consider.

eta: just to add, I like the idea a LOT and the approach. I was just not about the facial animations.

I remember liking the 90s live action movie with Carey Elwes.

"The strength of a bear. The speed of a panther. The heart of a wolf. And very sharp teeth."

I'll give this a shot, but I've never liked The Jungle Book all that much. The only one I liked was the live action movie with the actor who played Bruce Lee in that 90's biopic.

You uh...somehow wanted to do this without animation?

Super excited for this movie, Favreau is a brilliant director and I loved the feel of the trailers thus far (Plus I love the original story).

It's so bizarre to me that Disney and WB both greenlit huge Jungle Book movies at the same time for hundreds of millions of dollars and the net result is that Disney launch first with the same director who launched the MCU while Warner delay their movie a year and promise a Darker take with the subtitle "Origins", you actually can't make this up.

If the audiences buy into this, is WB screwed again? Theirs might look a better with another year and a good cast, but j can't see them both being massive.

I knew this was going to be something special since the Impressions from last year's D23.
And Favreau is one of those directors i can always put my trust on.
I'm trying to erase Cowboys vs Aliens from my mind

OH man this thread is such a relief. Ever since that first abler dropped I've been hoping this would be worth while. Hard to go wrong with a cast like that, but still. Can't wait to have my emotions thoroughly toyed with by nostalgia and good storytelling,
Have we had any confirmation if Kaa is a villain again in this one? I'd love to see them go back to putting him/her in the whole mentor role he had in the book.

A live action Lion King is inevitable when this does well isn't it?

can't wait for this scene in live action

RT Watch: 100% with 17 reviews.
This is one of those rare moments when a remake can be called a complete success.
The visual display in this film surpasses by much what Kipling had in mind... and Disney too for that matter. [Full review in Spanish]
It's a perfect mesh of subject matter and special effects ... by and large it is a beauty to behold.
