So happy to hear it's getting good reviews. I knew this would be in good hands once I found out Favreau was the director
smhDef going to see it, but I'm going to wait until the third week use because I know the theater is going to be filled with kids who probably aren't old enough and emotionally ready to deal with this movie.
This bit from that Telegraph review:
I spent this morning reading the positive reviews of God's Not Dead 2 on rotten tomatoes this morning but I have faith in the reviews of this. Favreau is amazing.
after Chef, I am not that sure. boy, that movie is so by the numbers
Lasagna Cat.
I remember liking the 90s live action movie with Carey Elwes.
"The strength of a bear. The speed of a panther. The heart of a wolf. And very sharp teeth."
Where Disney goes, WB follows.
I saw the trailer today for the first time. I looked at my husband said, "Just because we can animate anything doesn't necessarily mean we should."
Shit was creepy. Like uncomfortable creepy. Everyone gonna have to fall all over themselves raving for me to consider.
eta: just to add, I like the idea a LOT and the approach. I was just not about the facial animations.
Yeah, trailers make it look like a kids version of a chase film that is too creepy for kids. Pleased to hear about the music.puzzled by these reviews, movie looked like arse

Got a massive nostalgia kick from this. Haven't seen that movie in more than 20 years.

You uh...somehow wanted to do this without animation?
Interesting. I thought it was going to be complete shit. Still love the 1942 version.
Love Favreau. Glad it went above and beyond the bear necessities.
A live action Lion King is inevitable when this does well isn't it?
This is one of those rare moments when a remake can be called a complete success.
The visual display in this film surpasses by much what Kipling had in mind... and Disney too for that matter. [Full review in Spanish]
It's a perfect mesh of subject matter and special effects ... by and large it is a beauty to behold.
