Nah...after Cinderella last year, not trusting reviews for Disney's live action fairy tale anymore.

Didn't care much for Cinderella but knowing exactly how that story unfolds probably didn't help. Meanwhile I don't remember what happens in the original Jungle Book so that should work in its favor. Add Scarlett Johansson and Bill Murray, baby you got a stew goin'.

Watching this one in a few hours and I'm really looking forward to it. I have been humming the bear necessities song all day haha.

It looked great based off of the trailer I saw. I just didn't like the voice acting.

If I do end up seeing this, hopefully that's not a bother.

Just watched this. It was amazing. My fav film of the year so far. So much fun and heart. Damn, really want to see it again. The pacing was great it felt short.

The only thing I kind of had an issue with was
how mowgli started the fire
, but its a minor thing.

I loved the King Louie / Apocalypse Now (colonel kurz) reference, it was perfect.

watching this tomorrow, just got my tickets. I was hoping for Imax 3D, but the Imax screening in my country are still reserved for Batman vs Superman. :(

maybe I'll watch it a second time if the movie is really good.

Giving it a go. When I went to disney last week they had like a 10 minute clip playing and I really liked what I saw. I didn't even know this was directed by Jon so that definitely out it on my watch list. Glad to see it's a good movie as well.

Just got back from a 3D session. Really, really enjoyable!

Visual masterpiece! Seriously, some of the CG, you would think was real life film. The animals were on another level for the most part. Just stunning!

The voice actors were top notch and the kid was about as good as you could imagine. Really impressive.

Wasn't so sure about
the singing, especially the second song, but Christopher Walken was great.

3D wise, very well done. Not quite a made for 3D look like Life of Pi, Avatar etc but lots of depth and definitely gives you a sense of being in the jungle with them.

This movie was so good, perfect pacing and great acting combined with by far the best CG animals I have ever seen (90+% of the time they appeared real to me and I am a massive CG cynic) just made it so enjoyable.

The way they handed singing and tone was great too, it was serious but also whimsical in a way that felt natural where many movies struggle, just go see it.

Saw this in the weekend.

Great fun, amazing special effects and some real heart in this. I def got a bit emotional with some of the scenes here. And this is one of the few movies that justify going to see it in 3D. Seeing Kaa popping out of the screen trying to hypnotize you is something else.

This movie is legit guys, go see it.

can't wait for this scene in live action

I would die

Meh.

Visually it was very strong, Shere Khan was a great, intimidating villain and the final act was superb, but everything else I found boring and pointless. It just felt like a whole lot of nothing.

I'm shocked that so many people are shocked it's reviewing well, the trailers look phenomenal. All the complaints about CG are so overdone at this point, can't wait to see it.

my friend went to it last night with his sister.

the only thing I needed to know is that they had King Louis dance and song in there. feelsgoodman.jpeg

I gave it a 4/5. Really great surprise. I went in with a really low expectations, came out with a huge smile. Awesome adventure movie.

CGI in the trailers looked somewhat crappy to me, but the movie turned out absolutely beautiful. Even the 3d wasn't too dark (but it also does nothing for the film).

BvS is really RIP in peace.

Fun and charming movie.

Definitely catered towards children. Would have definitely got more out of it taking one of my younger cousins.

i was gonna complain that there aren't more brown actors/actresses in this but that would've been ignorant; the original author is English. It's good they got a brown kid to be Mowgli though

I might actually go to see this. First Disney "kids" movie I'll see as an adult in the theaters in decades.

I need a good, fun movie to wash the taste of BvS out of my mouth.

went and saw inside out last year, i guess that'd've been my first.

Does this have full blown musical numbers? Original had some of my favourite Disney songs in it growing up.
There's a few songs, but it never felt like a musical with full blown dance show. I actually kinda hope they went full musical. The song in this is nice and all, but it does take me out of the movie since the tone is pretty realistic for the character to suddenly go singing imo.

except, k'now, avatar...

Hated it. It was blurry and full of ghosting, because it was the first generation 3d.

3d just makes the screen dark (and the tickets more expensive). It's just a poor gimmick, not a thing that makes movies better. I'm glad it's slowly dying as most of the critics hate it and they make sure to mention about it.

yeah, when i went to go see the martian i really did not want to see it in 3d to save money, but i had no other choice because of showtimes. and it kinda sucked coz it was dark.

but i heard 3D IMAX avatar was the way to go.
