That definitely explains why he wouldn't remove the mask, although I always assumed he was Asian like in this new movie.

Was his vocal cords damaged as well? I don't exactly remember the lore, but I remember him being mute.

All I know about Snake Eyes is whatever I saw on the GI Joe cartoon. Always masked. And I don't think he really even said anything. He might had been mute. I forget.

Not only didn't I know he was ever unmasked, I also didn't know he was a blonde white guy either. I always assumed he was an Asian guy being a ninja.

Snake Eyes mystery and silence is large part of what makes him awesome. I will watch with low expectations hoping for sweet action.
