Didn't I post about this about a month ago? My wife and I did a 100rep squat challenge and I had DOMS for 2 weeks.

A huge bitch?I kind of have the opposite.. at the gym I feel huge because of the pump, and then at home I feel like a bitch. In the end I guess I'm just in between.
You did, actually.Didn't I post about this about a month ago? My wife and I did a 100rep squat challenge and I had DOMS for 2 weeks.
A huge bitch?
I know right?
Can sort of see it in my right arm here. Even after my cut this year, it didn't look much more prominent than that, just a tiny faint line.
My legs are a whole different story though, but you guys know that, lol.

They absolutely put stress on an injured back. It needs to keep flat against the weight of the bar at a fairly long lever length during a Pendlay row, and while normally you'd be able to handle it (provided you can do your squats and deadlifts), if injured you'd definitely feel it.
Saw the fitness thread and came to talk about how I've been able to stick with Couch to 5K for four weks now, but after looking at the OP I realized this place is a little inimidating.
Not at all good sir. Be proud of the progress you made. Glad you are staying active =)
using nail clippers to cut off calluses is pretty gross but oh so satisfying
Y'all are gross. Mine just peel off naturally, not really a big deal.
I just scratch/pick mine off from time to time.
I use a box cutter. I also buff all the rough edges out with a nail file afterwards. Feels good man
It won't take you anywhere near as long as it originally took to get those gains, muscles take longer to atrophy than we give credit. Your lifts will be back fast because of something in the bodybuilding community called muscle memory(a misnomer). People who go on layoffs for long periods of time go back to the gym and train for weeks/months and their lifts come back faster than what it took to get there to begin with. A month off might feel bad, but its not as terrible as you might think, your body probably just needs to get reacclamated to the weights.Same here, it's pretty habit forming though, like nail biting but not as nasty/unhygienic.
Also, I just got back to the gym after almost a month in Korea and Japan. Didn't get to the gym much there, just a lot of walking and I've gone from 165 to 157. Finally got back to the gym and as expected all my lifts have gone down by 15 to 20 pounds. But what's even more discouraging is that the muscle endurance is gone. Like 5x5 of anything is damn near impossible to do, my muscles just give out after 2 or 3 sets. Do you guys have a rough estimate of how long it will take to get back to where I was and back to strength gaining? Will it take as long to get back to that point as it did to build up to it, which was pretty damn long FYI? And are there any tricks to speeding this process up?
Did deadlifts and Pullups yesterday...holy shit on a stick I haven't been this sore in ages. This is all very depressing.
Why are you working out for 2 hours? That's a pretty extreme amount of time, I think almost anyone would tell that's overkill unless you're training for a marathon or something like that.Pain is all bullshit. Just an over-reaction of dumb nerves interpreted by your mind.
Once you call your own brain on it's bullshit, you can be set free.

Just for kicks I weighed myself pre/post workout tonight. I weighed 199 before the workout, then weighed 194 after the workout (2 hours later). That was with drinking 3 16 oz bottles of water during the workout.
Amazing how much water weight you carry.
Trying a different protein starting tomorrow.
Have been using GNC Pro Performance :
Having no other reference point (first time using Protein, started in June/July) and I have been very pleased with the taste (chocolate).
I'm going to try a different brand now with different taste (vanilla). Horleys Ripped Factors:
65gram to 85gram protein (per 100gram powder) is a pretty significant difference.

Yeah. Purposely bought a smaller container as I've yet to experience Vanilla protein. I was hoping to find some citron/lemon variety in my local retail stores but no luck.Only thing to keep in mind with the new container that you got is that if you're doing 3 scoops per sitting, you're going to go through that container pretty fast. I'm guessing it's 2 pounds total.
Shogun, I am currently undecided after today about whether BBB squats or deads are worse. My legs should let me know over the weekend.
Fuck stairs, my mortal enemy for the next 3 days.
....Why is the weight room on the second fucking floor of the gym?
Anyone ever burst blood vessels in their hands? It swells up hard and turns your finger purple. Typically get it deadlifting but lately curls for some reason. Hurts like hell.

I train twice a day, so 2 hours is normal for me. Three different kinds of cardio and weights.
Need to figure out my squat issue though. The DOMS is killing my legs for running/biking
180 this morning, 1 less pound than last week.
Doing more sprints at 10.5mph now.
Hit 7 reps on chin-ups. Slow but steady progress all around.
I also didnt measure my lunch today. Just threw in what looks like 6-8oz of chicken. I'm not going to stress about it anymore.
I've bust some small blood vessels in my forearm when deadlfting. It's only happend a couple times, and doesn't hurt at all. The skin just turns red, looks like a rash (specifcally looks like I scraped myself ie: roadrash).
Anton, I think you might really like pull aparts. Try to get some good bands and do those. My back seems to have gotten thicker doing those and nothing else really works like they do (from my limited experience) plus its great for shoulders health.
This is the issue I had during my cut. It's the whole "you can't serve two masters" thing. Your main focus now is cardio/speed. Squats HAVE to take a secondary priority slot. That means cutting your training max significantly or you're going to risk injury/hitting a brick wall.

Man, it's hard to hit my macros when I'm eating clean on LG. Yesterday I was supposed to get 2157, and ended up around 1200. And I know that's horrible, Thursdays are just really busy, and it's going to be hard to hit that goal and not have cookies or ice cream. Haha
Also, getting 215 grams of protein a day seems like a mountain I can't climb. Protein wise, I'm doing a couple hardboiled eggs a day, some greek yogurt, couple scoops of protein powder in milk, and I'll probably do a chicken breast tonight. That's still not even close to 215.
Andy,
Why not canned tuna? It's cheap, easy to carry and you get 25-30g's a pop. That's what all my old bodybuilder buddies used to use.
twofold said:I've found wholemeal bagels to be great for eating on LG. Each one has around 250 calories, 10g of protein and 40g carbs. They're pretty easy to eat, too. I usually just keep a bag of 5 next to me on workout days and munch on them throughout the day.
