Shogun, did you get the belt in yet? Description says it won't slip which is the problem I have with my other EFS belt when I use it for deadlift.

Started trying to wear it for dead lifting last week and it sucks for that. Just slips constantly. I'm at weight now where I finally feel like I need a belt on deads

I like the Spud DL belt pretty well

Incredible how switching from a deficit to a surplus of calories just boosts your lifts, I mean the difference is explosive.

Fell off the cut wagon and just have sort of embraced increasing all of my lifts. In the last month I've already put on 9 pounds (haven't been out of control eating), and I'm guessing/hoping a good 3-4 pounds of this is just water retention and glycogen stores.

Going back on my cut starting on Monday but it was nice to get ahead in my lifts a little bit.

She's good. Cutting out HIIT has helped both my recovery and lack of sleep (she still gets up 3-4 times at night to pee). How's yours?

I wouldn't say I'm eating dirty a lot, but I'm definitely more relaxed on dinners. Breakfast and lunch are always "clean" but I've grabbed something like Wendy's or chipotle a few more times than I usually do.

This is all leading up to my year mark in January. See how much strength I can pack on and then try IF from then until my wedding.

Is it okay to go to the gym and work your upper body 5 times a week or is that over kill? I only really enjoy working my upper body there and that's what I want to improve. I work every muscle on my upper body doing bench, dumbells, etc.

Doing well, she sleeps through out the night and I wake up in the morning and immediately take her out. Taking her to puppy socialization classes and training and the trainer says she doesn't give a fuck about other dogs. Would rather be alone or with other humans. She's great though. A bit frustrating at times haha.

To answer your question, going to the gym 5 days a week for only upper body is overkill.

Why don't you want to develop you lower body? It has biggest muscle groups.

More isn't better with training. You need to recover. Muscle are stimulated during training, but they grow outside of the gym.

Also, I hate weight stacks that don't display actual weight on each bar, but instead opt for meaningless numbers.

One of my friends came to me about something he was introduced to. It was a business and marketing plan for a nutritional health and wellness company called Herbalife. I sat down to hear what he had to say and I was BLOWN AWAY!!!!!!!!!!! I am a numbers man and it added up. VERY WELL!!!! I signed up with herbalife strictly on the financial benefits that were possible. I then ordered the products to make sure that what i was about to be involved in was truly what it said it was. Fitness GAF maybe you can help me with this. I want to start lifting soon but I just got my brace off for a broken hand (no surgery required) and the spot of the fracture feels great. I'm looking for ways to improve my grip and recondition my hand before I begin lifting. I broke my hand at the fifth metacarpal so it's my pinky and ring finger that are affected. I can currently close my hand to a half fist and it is improving slowly every day with my doctor's recommended stretches. The issue is these two fingers are swollen around the joint potentially with a little bit of scar tissue due to two months of immobilization. I'm going to the doctor tomorrow to assess the swollen fingers and I'll most likely be doing a little physical therapy to get rid of the scar tissue if that is what it is, could just be a lack of blood flow or some shenanigans like that. Any recommendations on gentle exercises to improve grip?

Was finally able to hit the gym again today after being out of commission for two weeks with a back injury. Felt good the whole time.

Third week of 20 full rep squats up to 135kg, I did them after front squats last week and it was brutal. I hope I can get 155kg on week 6 if things go well. I take about 90 seconds to complete the sets right now and would like to keep it under 120 on weeks 5-6.

Looks like this after working sets of either FS or BS.

Weeks 1-4 +10kg
Weeks 5-6 +5kg

What exactly are you doing? Multiple sets of 20? If I'm reading that right, good luck, that's going to be brutal. I damn near died just doing 315x20 for one set.

I still don't understand how the fuck people fall for pyramid schemes. I'd feel sorry for the guy.

He was never the brightest, but I can't understand how anyone would fall for the herbalife shit period, even if it wasn't a pyramid scheme.

Damn there's totally this kid in my gym who clearly doesn't work out his legs. Upper body though is quite large. It's fucking hysterical to see actually.

In other news, I had a fucking great back workout today.

Assisted pull ups
Bent over barbell rows
T-Bar Rows
Deadlifts

Grip went on my very last rep of the day. I wasn't going too heavy so it was kind of weird to be honest. I've been exhausted all day.

I usually go to Costco and get the 10lb bag of their frozen chicken breast and it runs me about 22$...I found out about this company zayconfoods.com and they sell 40lbs of fresh chicken breast(no added hormones, additives, etc etc) for about 68$, thinking about pulling the trigger since it's quite the savings... Vaccum seal my portions and store in freezer

I order it online from True Nutrition. Their Recession Whey blend. It's unflavored, which is fine with me. I'll use some sugar free Hershey's, PB2, peanut butter, fruit, or whatever else to flavor my shakes. I don't drink the shit with water anyways.

I've pretty much given up on Protein powder at this point. It's so fucking insanely expensive in Mexico that gram-per-gram it's cheaper to fulfill my protein needs from real food. Problem is that, specially in the evening, protein shakes are extremely convenient: you just gulp a couple of scoops down and you get 50g of protein in a jiffy. Much faster than cooking and then stuffing yourself with eggs or tuna or chicken.

GNC is basically the only place you can get it, and their own brand protein goes for like US$60 a kg. And that's the cheapest brand they sell. That's fucking ridiculous.

They sell some cheaper brands at supermarkets and places like Costco, but they are truly shitty. They sell a brand that has like 17g of maltose per 30g serving. Holy shit. It's like drinking a milkshake.

There's a guy at my gym who benches 275lb for reps but can barely squat 185lb to parallel.

I said the same thing, but when I was doing that hard cut during the summer I lacked energy bad. I'm just using the rest of it up right now.

Not sure if I'll bother with it anymore after it's gone.

How much do you take? It's what I picked up after seeing that you use it. Was kinda surprised at how quick it faded, so I'm probably going to up it tomorrow.

I'm not sure how I should feel. The guy I mentioned is bound to pass me up on bench in time, but I could never see myself sacrificing any body part for the sake of another. Nor is it even necessary to do that.

Totally fine. If it makes you feel better I've been off any sort of preworkout (stim or not) for about half a year. I just feel like I need the boost... which in reality is a terrible mindset to have, but it's how I feel.
