I have mostly abstained from getting into and commenting about the drama and incidents that have plagued the video game forum community at large in the last week but I'd be lying if I said it hasn't influenced my forum behavior.

I feel like I don't want to post any more, neither here nor there (I mean the two forums, not this thread).

If everyone here moved to the new forum, I'd strongly consider moving there though,

Being honest, outside of this community, I don't remember ever feeling understood or that other people had any kind of empathy for me personally so I am not really itching to get an account over there, it's exactly the same people and over time it will face the same challenges and.. well, yeah...I don't buy the "OMG, this is so much better than the old forum!" thing just yet, I'll give it a year and see how they handle controversial topics and see how they deal with them.

for all the shit Neogaf has gotten into in the last days, mods tried their best to keep controversial topics on and off-topic civil over the years, specially after Trump won and I am not sure it worked out, it's nigh impossible to have civil discussion in a lot of matters, religions, gender, politics.

I want the new place to get through that and see how that goes.

I've seen gym bros take their young children to the gym on weekends. As long as its supervised. The weights are light (you know they're gonna try and swing a fucking 20kg dumbbell curl to tell their friends)

Finally reached the "theoric" 1000lbs club this saturday.

My theoric maxes are now:

Squat: 338lbs
Bench: 245lbs
Deadlift: 417lbs
Total: 1000lbs

Overhead: 159lbs

The heaviest lifts I have actually done:

Squat: 323.5lbs (-15lbs)
Bench: 234.5lbs (-10lbs)
Deadlift: 366lbs (-50lbs)
Total: 924.5

Overhead: 153lbs (-6lbs)

I get pretty exhausted on deadlift by the time I get to the heavy weights, but I'm pretty sure 400 would go up decently easily on a sumo lift if I go at it fresh.

Anyone here consider doing rucking before? I am going to be starting school soon so I will be taking public transportation while carrying a backpack around 10 pounds.

Gaming laptop+ Charger +water bottle+ notebooks,pencils and etc... so estimating about 10 pounds that is going to be carried by a 155 pound man.

I heard there are benefits to doing rucking and I will be carrying a 10 pound backpack and walking at least 3 miles a day.

Renewed my gym membership this week. Did chest and back on monday and bi's and tri's yesterday. I kept the weight low to try and reduce doms. No luck. I can barely move today. Legs are up next. I'm gonna wait until the weekend though. I don't want upper and lower body doms at the same time. I won't be able to go to work and do my job if I'm that sore.

High rep super low weight is the best way to get back into it from my experience. Even some free weight stuff can work wonders for getting back into it. I've been a slug lately as well. Planning on doing a mile then body weight exercises plus some core.

Leg doms are the worst. if you want super extreme pain do calves and you won't be able to walk at all. Usually 3 days after the workout you'll be fine. You'd be surprised how much doms is reduced by your 2nd workout.

Considering risks for health and quality of outcome, as well as price, with all kinds of unnecessary surgical procedures, I'd suggest trying to first try for an extended period of time to maximise your progress using sports and mindful nutrition. Afterall, results achieved by means of sports and well-planned nutrition are easier to maintain, as well. Considering you are saying you are seeing good progress with your new program, I'd strongly suggest first seeing what you can achieve the natural way.

Started back up on the intermittent fasting. Started it in January and the results are a lot faster than I was expecting, but I had stopped for a couple months due to convention/cos-play preparation (which is stressful as hell) and gained back some fat and lost some toning. It's only been three weeks sense I started I.F. and going back to the gym and I can already start seeing results again. Not the easiest thing in the world to do as I'm really hungry right now, but hey, it works.

I'm so bored of going to the gym, but I just do it anyway.

I'm actually in pretty good shape these days, and losing weight. I hit my high of 218, and now I'm down to 207ish. The main thing has actually been living in a high cost state because my money doesn't stretch as far and I have to be very stingy about how I spend on food. So I eat less, eat better, and so on.

As usual it's easier to lose weight when you aren't lifting, but the body looks so much better when you do.

haha I left america for over 6 months and lost like 50 pounds. Weighing in around 172. The downside was being way weaker and out of shape than normal. Being back in the US for 4 months caused me to gain that right back. Though I fell into a hole of energy drinks and soda again.

I picked up circuit training classes at a local gym for almost a month now. Definitely getting results despite not changing my habits much. Honestly doing this conditioning and training feels like something I should have done long ago. Screw personal training and traditional lifting weights. I could add that in there but the struggle of doing a conditioning class and then doing metabolic conditioning(basically similar to the crossfit stuff). Is like putting a fast forward on my personal improvements. Yeah I am probably not as weight lifting strong as I would normally be at this point but I imagine I could run laps around my average self and that is only with a month of this stuff. Can't wait to see where I am in 2 more months.

I ate chinese for lunch and then did my conditioning class after work.... I felt that chinese in ways that made me suffer. No good!

Good job keeping at it! Small hand-weights and/or kettle bells and/or resistance bands are worth incorporating into your routine. It's not necessarily about muscle strength but also joint stability and strength. Keep that in mind since avoiding injury is especially important if you are doing conditioning.

Yeah the conditioning class has like 30 minutes of conditioning with weights in hand. I think we have like 10 minutes of stretches while holding those weights. Somedays feel easy and then somedays I swear he is trying to show off and it is brutal(which is a nice reminder that I have much more to go for those complacent moments).

Thinking of trying to do metabolic conditioning today before I do my regular conditioning class. However, there was a girl that looked in pretty rough shape and quit about 1/3 of the way through the class yesterday.

So I've been at this for 2 months now. Average temp in Michigan has been 40*F (4*C). Lost 20LBS and have gained some brown fat in my chest/neck area. The cold endurance is more important to me than the weight loss but trimming down isn't bad either.

Maybe off topic, but can anyone recommend some hardy bike tires/tubes? This morning I had my third flat in a month (second tube) so I had to walk the rest of the way.

Yes, no supplements. I do eat high protein food such as quark or low-fat meat, but never any supplements. I feel it is better for me to just use natural nutritional sources and in a way I see supplements as a gateway drug to doping. I have no issues with others taking supplements, but I want to keep my nutrition as natural as possible, also because I think that the digestive systems are probably not optimised towards extremely high concentrations of singular nutrients.

You could probably train most younger ages competitively. Not a doctor but I asked a doctor this years ago when I was 12 and he told me that I could probably safely workout around 14 and be hardcore around 16. Many years of study have fallen in between then and now sooooo

Let me add some points about the nutrition for perfect muscles.

Now you have your training squared aside, it's time to stock up the dinner dish. The following recommendations can help you pack on lean body mass.

Eat your proteins. Men need in order to aim for no less than 150 grams of protein daily. 180-220 grams per day is a great intake average to aim for.

Down 40 pounds since the beginning of November. Currently sitting at 178. Goal weight is 160-165. I just cleaned up my diet, hit the gym 4-5 days a week and the pounds melted off.

On a side note I haven't done any pull ups since I started back in the gym. I do a regular back workout as part of my normal routine, but I usually just do lat pull downs, never pull ups. I wanted to see how many I could do. I honestly expected to do 2 or 3, but ended up banging out 7. I was pretty happy with that result.

In August i wanna do a tough mudder like competition and I wanna crush it. So I have to do some kind of cardio. Jumping rope is maybe the best thing for me. + I lost my earbuds somewhere, how should I do cardio without them?

That’s true. I’m too negative about it but I notice it and it pisses me off because I know where I’ve been before and where I am now. Wasn’t working out for a month more or less. Eating like shit. So.. I have to do some good work.
