It's genetics and its training, or are you going to tell me that if you train hard enough you can outrun Usain Bolt?. Also McG has been working on improving his stamina ever since he started having issues with it (in state of the art UFC owned facilities no less), he didn't start working on his stamina issues for the May fight... nice try though!

Well this place needs some levity...
What you can't see is the kinetic waves Conor shot into Floyd's brain that are laying dormant and slowly causing a brain aneurysm.

The crowd cheered for Conor the whole match, cheered louder when he got stopped, everyone I overheard was impressed with Conors performance, even my friends (they're casual fans).
Don't know if this will give boxing a bump, but going from what I saw MMA definitely got some new fans off the back of a decidedly average boxing performance.
Win win for everybody.

I would love to see this fight just so we can see how absurdly poor MMA punching technique at full force is compared to that of a competent boxer's punching technique at full force.
You said this was your first boxing match in 10 years, right? Check out Canelo-GGG if you have the time. I think you'll like that one.
Anyway, I like that both Floyd and Conor showed each other a lot of respect post fight. Both sports can and should benefit each other.

A company being excited for their new game is a huge slap in the face to all the fans that liked their old games.
Yes, I have seen plenty of boxing matches.
From compatriot Olympians like Teófilo Stevenson, Félix Savon, et al to modern WBC wonders like Floyd Mayweather and early Y. Gamboa.
I'm not a so called pundit, and certainly not a snob, but I've been around boxing all my life.
McGregor has speed and accuracy. In my opinion those are major assets.
He needs pacing and composure to manage his stamina, and that comes with training and experience.
After seeing his speed anticipating Floyd's attacks I definitely see him standing a chance in the ring against heavier hitters.
But he's 29. So it may be too late for a big paradigm shift.

watched some highlights in slow motion and man, you can only imagine what was going on in McGregor's head, he was throwing elbows and realizing it was illegal like half way so then he tried to make them into a punch or just guard himself, a complete shitshow.

The moral of the story here is to not somehow expect to magically be the best in someone else's sport with zero experience whatsoever.
We've seen plenty of this for both these sports. Most times a UFC fighter with no boxing experience boxes, they get their ass whooped.
Same goes the other direction. Most times a boxer with no MMA experience does MMA, they get their ass whooped.

I just disagree. He slipped a couple punches...so what. If you know boxing like you say you do you basically saw FM come forward with no real offence for the first three to four rounds. He LET CM hit him and pretty much walked through them all. He told us his gameplan from the beginning "to come forward, not take steps back and give the fans a show". That's exactly what he did.
Again name a fighter (Top Ten) in those weight classes I mentioned that CM has a chance against?
As far as stamina, he's not known for that and even admitted post fight its his achilles heel. Boxers are trained for 12 round fights. And it's not just CM it's most MMA fighters all gas when in deep waters. 29 year old FM, murders CM from the opening bell as would any other boxer in the top ten.

MMA stans supported their boy.
If you want to have a deeper discussion about the ethnic diversity of each sport's supporter base then make your argument but reducing it to "white people would rather support a white foreigner than a black American" is completely baseless.

Watching the fight live, I thought Conor was doing extremely well against Floyd and I gave him the first three rounds. After viewing it again, I now see how outclassed McGregor really was. Mayweather let CM have the first three rounds all the while embarassing him by eating all of his best shots and walking down the so called best striker in MMA.
Connor gets a rematch. Loses again. Bork is the 1 in 51 and 1.

My experience with boxing is pretty much limited to watching the Rocky movies.
Everyone that I watched the fight with, for the first four rounds said things like, "McGregor looks so impressive!" or "He's landing the punches, it's not even close!" or "He's going to win this fight!"
All of them MMA fans.
They were drunk, and kind of rowdy, so I kept my thoughts to myself but my first thoughts through the first four was - man, Mayweather is playing with his food, making this a little more entertaining than it needs to be. My second thought was, he's wearing him down and tiring him out, on purpose.
Then sure enough once Connor started to fatigue, Mayweather turned it on.
I don't know how people were so delusional for this fight. Connor never looked like he was in the same league, even during the early rounds. I know Mayweather is a human piece of shit, but the guy had a strategy and he executed it without flaw.
That said, I had a lot of fun looking at the psychology of the match instead of the apparent action that was going on in front of me. Everyone was real quiet once it was clear that McGregor was losing steam, lol. At the very least it has me kind of interested in boxing. So, I guess some marketer somewhere did his job.

MMA fans (not all obviously as some also watch boxing and have a sense of perspective) have been saying it is far superior to boxing and that the fighters are more skilled not just overall but at the disciplines that collectively make up the MMA. It is why we saw the arguments that McGregor would bring stuff boxing has never seen before when in fact it has all been seen before and just pale imitations as it isn't focused on one discipline.
A lot of what we are hearing now is just spin because if you break it down this was the easiest professional fight that Mayweather had in his career, it looked like a light sparing session for Floyd much of the fight and Coner was blowing after the second, on top of that Floyd is a 40yo out of retirement against one of the big stars of UFC in their prime who is suppose to be one of the heavy hitters but his punches didn't do a thing and lacked any snap. It must mean a lot to some because we are still hearing people say Conor won 3 rounds, he didn't he won one. Also highlighting that he landed more punches than Pac even though besides the first round Mayweather was pretty much open the entire fight and was happily taking hits without flinching, whereas the first proper hit Coner took he looked spooked and his body language and style completely changed.
There is also the race issue I think The Guardian put it best: "They figured out long ago that more fans would hand over their scratch to watch him lose than to watch him win and they rode the formula to more than $1bn in revenue based on an inconvenient truth: there will always be a market for some in America for the possibility of watching an unapologetic black fighter getting beaten."
