It's nice to watch big international tournaments at night over here.
Games will kick off earlier. No chance on earth will FIFA miss out on their sweet, sweet broadcasting fees.

2011 and it's still essentially a crime to be a football fan, especially when you travel away from home. It's a fucking disgrace. Refusing a person antibiotics for half a day with the injuries he got from the attack is horrifying.
Jeff Albertson said:I'm quite sad what has happened to Arsenal, Wenger built a time the 'right way' in my opinion, almost perfectly crafted with skill and love over time and City look like overtaking them by simply throwing stupid money everywhere, it just seems like they are playing a football manager game with cheats for infinite money on (as a Blackburn fan I can't complain too much although there are massive differences to Jack Walker) If I was a City fan I wouldn't mind at all though, that has to be said. Just seems a shame for Wenger when skill is secondary to cash.

The problem with that is the uncertainty. If the club for example say they will bid for Mata and Hazard and do all they can to get them but Mata goes to City for 35m and Hazard to United for 35m...there is nothing Arsenal can do about that. Nasri will then be at the club for the next season most probably disillusioned and not fully committed. The club may agree to sell him next summer but the clubs that wanted him don't want him anymore, they've moved on and don't want to bid that "reasonable" price.Meus Renaissance said:I think Samir and Clichy should make an agreement with the club that they'll sign new contracts on the premise the club will significantly strengthen and replace Cesc. Show them names. If the club fails this coming season, then Arsenal will agree to sell them at reasonable prices rather than force them to play through their contract.
This summer really is a turning point for the club. I think these players deserve to leave with something. It'd be an injustice if this project failed

They have wilshere, but Ramseys not played much football and dont think he'll be the fabregas replacement. I think the same things going to happen with regards to nasri and clichy. Once they have the replacements ready, they sell.
Whats happening with the move of Sanchez?
Yurt said:Are you guys gonna actually pay 45-50m for him now after Madrid's obvious trolling attempt ?
Yep. Don't know why Arsenal fans are so reluctant to see him go either, it's an inevitability and he's one player who can generate serious revenue for (unlikely) reinvestment. I'd much rather have a player who wants to be at the club than one dreaming of the other side of the world.Error said:Cesc is going to barcelona this summer, looks more likely than ever to me.
Messi said:I doubt it, I think 38-39 mil with extras maybe adding up to 45 mil.
dschalter said:the problem for arsenal is that cesc is worth more than what barca is willing to bid, because barca don't really need more midfielders. if they had bid what he was actually worth he would be long gone.
Meus Renaissance said:I think the fact that Cesc is public about his desire to join Barca is the ace card for Barcelona here
Cesc will not force the move through and if Barcelona don't pony up and give Arsenal want they want then I expect Fabregas will keep to his word and do his best for our club again next season and given his known respect for our club and manager I just refuse to think that Cesc would refuse to take the field for us if a deal can't be done. He has shown absolute integrity throughout what has been a very hard time for everyone, including him.GQman2121 said:People were quick to say Madrid's interest last week was purely a means to drive the price up; however, that's only because everyone knows the player's intentions. The argument could easily be made that no other teams are showing interest because they know that Cesc will just decline a move.
Basically, Arsenal are going to get fucked here. At this point, it's only a matter of how hard they want it.
Lightning said:That is my desired result. Cesc should be allowed to go nowhere. We are too close to winning to lose the crown jewel of our side now.
The premier league? So close last season... made it all the more frustrating that we didn't win it.Kermit The Dog said:...Winning what?!
Van Persie is more vital to Arsenal's chances of success anyway.

And Van Persie is no where near more vital to Arsenal than Fabregas. Not only is Van Persie made of a very delicate material but he's not the same player when Fabregas is not on the pitch making countless chances for him. Van Persie is a class player but Fabregas is just WAY WAY better and that much more important. Van Persie is replaceable, Fabregas is not.

Kermit The Dog said:But surely you'd agree that you'll be less likely to win it this year than last year? Last year was your great chance.
Perhaps I'm just judging it off last year, when Fabregas always seemed to be injured, and Van Persie seemed their only genuine avenue to goal at times. Could be wrong, that's just how I recall it.
If we hang onto Cesc for another year I don't see why we can't win it.Kermit The Dog said:But surely you'd agree that you'll be less likely to win it this year than last year? Last year was your great chance.
Every player makes mistakes and Cesc was a true gentleman and owned up to his mistake. Not to mention that he was playing injured for our benefit because his mere presence lifts the players around him. Okay we didn't win that game but Arsenal and Cesc can hold their heads up high, imo, that they gave it their best against a side that is obviously more talented and made a game of it.Yurt said:Fabregas is talented and its gonna be hard to replace him.
But how the fuck can Arsenal fans forget this

Just shameful.. he even faked a tackle/pulled away his leg to let him pass.

Man Utd are buying over-priced english players, Man City have money but no intelligence on how to spend it, Chelsea have yet to reveal their hand but with Fabregas I am sure we can match whatever they bring to the table and Liverpool are better under Dalglish but still have a ways to go before being a threat to Arsenal as they are another one in over paying for english players. 35million for Carroll? Fuck off...

If Cesc departs I agree, if Cesc stays no just no but we we'll see soon enough as it's a pretty challenging start to the season and it will likely tell the story.Error said:You have to be pretty delusional to think arsenal has a shot at winning epl next season, I think even a top 4 finish is gonna be a struggle for them.

It's impossible to say until the window closes. If Nasri and Cesc both go, that's a massive amount of your attacking threat and creativity gone. Replacement signings could potentially take time to fit in, and that's only if Wenger is willing to spend over the odds for Mata etc.Tim the Wiz said:Arsenal will make top 4, for sure. Even without Nasri and Fabregas. I really do rate Wilshere and Ramsey. And if Wenger does sign an Alvarez or Mata, there'll be some genuine fresh talent in that midfield. However, I don't see him sorting out that back five enough this summer to mount an appreciable title challenge--agreed on that front.
The hype surrounding Liverpool re-entering the top 4 is what I wouldn't be too trusting of. I think they'll finish fifth--ahead of Spurs, but behind City and Arsenal.
