We celebrate the day a person was born.

For example, I was born on the 8th of March, so every 8th of March people will say "happy birthday" to me and I'll get a few presents.

In exchange, I throw a party. We drink and eat and everyone is happy.

Lol Ricky pls.

wedward, did you see inherent vice?

i saw it last night. i was dead tired. like, the showing was at 9pm, but at around 10pm my eyes already had trouble staying open... however, i wasn't too impressed. it was kind of all over the place (apparently, the book is like that, too?). didn't really grab me as much as i thought it would.

might change my mind after a rewatch, but as of now it is a disappointment.

Yeah, i saw it. I really liked it. It is a little long and at some point it became difficult to follow everything, but I still had a good time. Been thinking about it a lot and want to watch it again. I've read some other Pynchon and I think PTA captures the mood and spirit really well. Maybe it is too faithful.

Probably read the book soon as well.

Have you watched The Better Angels yet? Looks a bit too similar to Malick, but I want to check it out.

I watched Nightcrawler last night. Fairly simple script, but it kept me interested the entire time. I really enjoyed it.

Gyllenhal is a very good actor. Super underrated performance.

YURT

Apparently after tonight's episode, Flash will be taking a two-week break

And this reminds me, I never responded to your theory lol.

Fuck sake my train is delayed at Waterloo, I cannot miss to tonight.

I actually don't mind supporting CHELSEA for this one.

Cesc in the hole, depends on the mood he's in will I think decide the outcome this leg.

MOTO PANNUKAKKU

(I thought it wasn't all that. Easily PTA's weakest)

I find it hard to justify why Cahill and even Courtois are in, to be perfectly honest. Cahill - whilst a good player has been and will be isn't in good form and Zouma has been great in unquestionably two of our biggest games this season...

Courtois, I mean he's obviously very good but in a bit of a wobble and Cech was great against Everton...

Not sure about Cesc behind Costa either, I don't have an issue with Ramires playing he's been quite good recently I've actually thought but Cesc behind Costa hasn't yielded much has it?

Oh well, still a good team and a good bench.

smoking is so fucking expensive. and it's nowhere near as fun as acid. shit habit.

I thought Inherent Vice was of PTA's weaker films, but maybe stronger than the Master.

The Master was incredible.

I feel similar to wedward on IV I think. Find myself liking it an awful lot in retrospect.

no, not yet, but that trailer made it seem so much like a malick film rather than a rip-off.

i'm intrigued.

Happy birthday people.

My UCL Fantasy team is done but I'm not fully confident in it. Think I lost my mojo

Hopefully Meier is zoned out listening to some objectively great music and forgets all about this.

2 hours for CL

incredible

Wow, thanks for the heads up. I had no clue some of the games were this week.. my fantasy team would have been fucked!

Are the two comparable at all?

Like, who takes an acid break from work?

I didn't love the Master the first time I saw it (aside from thinking it looked fucking magnificent in 70mm), but I re watched it recently and it really is great.

u do realise that for a large portion of the season cesc has started deep and mid way through the second half, Jose likes to push him up behind Costa and has been used to devastating effect. Can't remember the stat but the majority of his assists have come from playing there as opposed to playing deep.

I dunno. I thought I read a comparison of the two a little earlier.

Cesc has only played behind the striker a handful of times this year. And who knows what he'll be instructed to do. He may lie deeper than we're used too. PSG are fairly top heavy.

What lol, no, cesc has played behind Costa plenty times. He starts deep and has often finished behind Costa (hehehe) I'll find out the stats for you
