You know that the site of the ground and the surrounding facilities was built for the Commonwealth games in 2002 right?

Funded for by the Sport England and Manchester City Council.

Stop making stupid shit up to apologise for the racist, sexist cunts your owners are.
The stadium isn't the only thing that has been developed in the area. Don't be silly, Viva.

Regarding your other point, all I said is that City isn't just a "rich man's toy" -- the club has done a lot for people off the pitch as well. Hell, they've built 5 pitches here in the US in underserved areas for kids to use.

The mini stadium and the velodrome (that we don't even use)?

I can testify to this. I saw it when it was just a barren wasteland. The government wanted to build a frigging casino on the land, no doubt a huge attraction to those with barely enough money to get by.

Citys investment gives so much more.

Supercasino's are never a good idea IMO and wouldn't have been right for the area but it wasn't JUST a casino they were going to build.

3,000 jobs and plenty of other things. I'm glad it wasn't built in the end but it wasn't just some kind of evil plan.

You live in Manchester, you know plenty of that city (and the NW in general) needs support and it was getting it before the economy went down. Good for the area that the Sheikhs are spending the money they have which our government don't but it's just stupid to paint them as some kind of saving grace. Pure nonsense.

Can you show evidence of the owners being racist and sexist? Or are you just being racist and stereotyping?

So you would rather they did nothing? He isn't making anything up. So the stadium should have just been built and not used? What other team in manchester should it be given to?

They are actually doing a decent job of making strides to developing the academy, developing the surrounding area. Don't know why you are getting so butthurt about it.

Gerrard wasn't even crying, what's all this shit about.

Cissokho smashed him in the eye

There's no chance the Skrtel shirt-pull is a pen btw, considering that Kompany is doing the exact same thing

Kompany on Suarez was a maybe, went down too easily though. Suarez does my head in. Diving is bad enough, but doing it when you're already on a yellow is just ridiculous.

The Mars advert reminds me of FIFA games. All flash, no heart.

What about the Skrtel punch?

Have you been to the UAE?

I'm not saying they've done nothing and that they haven't helped the area. I'm saying it's a misnomer to say they are the ones responsible for rejuvenating the area alone. They're not. And they're definitely not doing it to be good samaritans.

Just when you thought he'd dropped his antics. I'm surprised he didn't get a second yellow today. Surely you have to give something for the incident - card or free kick.

Basically every other game Squirtle gets away doing something at corners. Pretty much every Liverpool fan I talk to always says they have no idea how he gets away with it.

Pls don't let Sturridge be injured ;

I think LT said it was a hamstring injury.

No Henderson and Sturridge will be hard to take for the next few games, Allen and Suarez will have to step up.

@CityGAF: I said we were lucky today, you should of won.

Liverpool should have been up 4-0 first half. City should know that all in all they were beaten by the better team.

The fact that Liverpool got the benefit of the doubt changes nothing. This team is special...and would be worthy champions.

I'm on fucking cloud 9 and all I have to do is look at the table and I'll stay there. Sorry haters...

There was a good article by the Guardian a while back about their image laundering.

If I'm judging players on their individual qualities then I don't think Liverpool have the strongest squad in the league. But Rodgers has done something to them. Motivated them and created a game plan to suit their strengths.

It's the exact opposite of what Moyes has done to United and I can only hope that our board of directors has realised that. They may already have sussed that out if these rumours about sounding out new managers is true. But now they have to be decisive and give him the chop. Can't go into this transfer window half cocked and hesitating about trusting the manager.

We got very lucky at times today, but we also lost 2 of our starting XI, one of which possibly for the rest of the season.

Those last 4 games just got a lot tougher without Hendo and Studge.

So you are saying Sheikh Mansour et al. are responsible for the inequalities throughout the UAE? Even though its the religious and social constructs placed upon the whole region, not them.

Yeah I know all they really care about is money and then its their brand. But they have been a positive influence at the very least on the local area.

Lip readers? I think I heard 'Norwich'. Looked like a 'Clear eyes. Full heart. Can't lose' kind of speech.

'Well in lads. The game's over though, have to win 4 games in a row now starting with Norwich'

Basic message :p

He can cry all he wants today

-Game closest to Hillsborough anniversary, where he lost a cousin
-Last chance (probably) to win the title that has eluded his boyhood club for 24 years
-Would have been broken after the equaliser
-He's carried the team on his shoulders for nearly a decade between 2003 and 2012, and watched false dawn after false dawn fly by
-Winning a single title with us would probably jusitify his decision to stay in 2005, in his own eyes
-That match meant everything for our title challenge. We couldn't afford to lose, and couldn't really afford to draw either. Sheer relief.

Come on Swansea

If the Glazers do actually have a plan they need to come out and say what it is.

Maybe it wasn't anything serious... just precaution.

I was about to put a tenner on Shelvey to score anytime but didn't manage to get it on. Betting with my heart rather then my head so might be better off.

I 100% hold the ruling family of that country responsible for the things which go on in that country, many (but not all) of which are contradictory to the "religious and social constructs" you speak of, yes.

How can they not be?

I think we could be ok without sturridge, only having one striker is standard nowadays. Allen having to step up and replace Henderson is the main issue.

Such a stupid challenge. He could have really hurt him.
