I thought the same with The Witcher. Played it just before Witcher 2 came out and loved it.
Gonna have to pick up ME1. Keep getting mixed opinions on whether to just skip it and start on ME2

Could never get into the first witcher. Witcher 2 however... So good.
Don't skip ME1, it's far better than 2. If anything you can afford to skip 2, the main plot is wafer-thin and most of the squadmates are peripheral in ME3.

So what does Bayern-GAF think of tonight's match?
I really have no idea how to rate Bayern at the moment. They were rather shit in the last few matches. And that 7-1, well, it's like winning 10-0 against some 5th division club, doesn't tell anything at all. Or maybe it really gave them a bit of a confidence boost, can't say. I have a feeling that Basel will make it through, though.

I don't know whether I'll get to playing 2 and 3. Reading about the changes between 1 and 2 has made me hold off on continuing the series.

I can see why Everton are "bitter" though. If your local rivals were kings of England (many moons ago) you'd be envious/jealous/bitter too
Play ME1 and be done with it. Then you can just pretend the story ended well and your choices actually mattered.
Their defense is under a lot of pressure to perform today. If they can play the way they played this weekend, then I have no doubt that they'll win -- especially at home. Having said that, anything can happen with this team. They can look god-tier one day and scrub-tier the next.

Well yeah but Bayern needs to score two goals more than Basel. I don't see Basel winning but it might be enough to go through.
ME2 is still a good game in my eyes. But a bit different to 1 in a few ways.

Rafa calling Everton a small club was poor form. Managers shouldn't disregard other clubs in that way. Ferguson did the same when he labelled City the "noisy neighbours". All a bit of fun, but classless. Poking fun should be done in a wittier way, I think Shankly or Paisley came out with that classic line about closing the curtains on Everton, at least that's funny. Just calling them a small club is...cheap.

I've never understood the criticism of Liverpool for anticipating the ManUtd matches more than any other, when the same anticipation is shown amongst the Man Utd fans. Its not like we consider a season successful as long as we beat them. And before anyone says 'oh, but you play better against them than you do against the other teams in the league,' the same is true for all of the bigger clubs we play against.
And Newcastle are a big club, everyone in the football league is tbh, just not as big as the likes of Man Utd, Liverpool and Arsenal. Didn't Rafa call Everton a smaller club btw, rather than a small club? If he did, its was still a silly thing to say, but pretty much true by all reasonable measures
