Mancini was being held back!

Watched a bit of Basketball the other night, USA v Lithuania & just didn't feel it at all.

I'm telling you don't watch international Basketball it's just now worth it. NBA is where it's at. Watch the 5 game series between the Heat and Thunder for the championship. You'll be in awe of the shit you see.

I'm only just really getting into the NFL and NBA. I've been watching NFL for a couple of years now but this year I am going to try and follow the season fully. NBA I started to watch last year towards the end of the season and I loved it, it's so exciting and the skill on display is actually amazing.

I don't really have time to follow all these sports though but as somebody who used to be quite cynical about the appeal of American sports...gotta say I really like them.

Just signed up and paid but I'm having trouble signing into my account. Is this common?
Sometimes it takes a few minutes to process and stuff.

RVP to United going to make Fantasy selections a serious headache.
Yep. I want Shinji in my team so bad aswell :(

United players except for Rooney, Evra and Vidic are a strict no-no for fantasy football. We have a huge squad and SAF loves to rotate. I doubt we had the same starting 11 in 2 consecutive games last season.

If he was 2-3 years younger, you'd have one. A 29 year old made of glass? It only makes sense in FIFA.

THIS! I think City have tabled their offer to player and Arsenal and have said 'take it or leave it'.

I remember with Nasri, Mancini was talking bout him every week. "Maybe he will sign soon" etc.

I suppose it would be like judging football on an England match. I'll definitely keep an eye out & try and catch some this year. Can't see NFL though, It seems completely foreign. The commercial breaks would do my tits in as well.

As with all teams, you can always pick out the players who are in great form or will be played because of injuries to others in their position.

But this causes issues because I wouldn't know who to pick - RVP or Rooney. They're both players who should be starting every PL game.

Ofcourse i was not taking injuries into consideration now coz now almost all the first team players are fit for United and noone is guaranteed a start.

Is SAF buying RVP to give Rooney competition and not get complacent?

According to Studio Sport, De Laurentiis has decided to sell Cavani and negotiations with Chelsea are underway.

I would be devastated. :(

I have no idea. If I were Ferguson I would be looking at other players, not RVP.

GM’s CEO would no longer protect his marketing head after a whistle-blower stepped forward and the Detroit-based company determined Ewanick was spreading the price of the agreement with English soccer team Manchester United (MANU) among several different marketing budgets to avoid his boss’s spending limits, the people said. When confronted, Ewanick denied it, they said.

There’s no evidence that Ewanick profited personally from the transaction said two of the people, while another said the investigation continues. The ouster of a key lieutenant he was mentoring reflects the steep challenges facing Akerson as he tries to change the culture of the country’s largest carmaker.

A little light shed on the GM United sponsorship deal.

That GM deal is shady as fuck.

You have to wonder what the marketing head thought he was doing, or how it would look to his company.

Why? Because its a lot of money?

I just can't seem to wrap my head around why he'd want to secretly orchestrate such a huge sponsorship deal unless he was getting a real benefit out of it. If the limits were there and he circumvented them by spreading the money around, how could he not have figured that he'd be caught and punished by the company?

How reliable are these sources linking Cavani to Chelsea anyway? They seem to have come out of nowhere. Though the fact that they came out of nowhere actually leads me to believe that there are more elements of truth to them. Still doubt this move will happen.

Possibly one of the most unneeded signings we'll ever make, but he's a top class player when not broken so why not?

So Rupert Murdoch boucht the Eredivie rights for 1 Billion dollars...

Giulia Bongiorno will be leading Conte's defense team starting Monday. Fantastic news! I hope it's true this time. :/

Their marketing head spreading the money into different budgets so his boss didn't find out isn't shady?

Exactly. Who in their right mind at GM would have ok'd that.

No one, which is why it's so strange. He must be getting some sort of huge kick back from the Glazers? Perhaps in the form of United shares.

He's under investigation and may potentially lose millions in legal fees or settlements with GM. What could be worth that, unless he's honestly just a bit of a nutter.

I love how everybody in Holland watches football on 19:00. I never do that :D. He will fuck it up though, BUT THINK OF THE MONIES.

Crazy Murdoch.

So, couple bits of news that are worthy of reposting.

With RVP going to United (almost 100% unless his wife grabs him by the balls and says we're going to Torino), Jovetic has apparently become our #1 focus. So, Llorente, Jovetic, Dzeko.... just get it over with.

Second, reports are surfacing that Milan's hand is being forced by Cassano for a transfer because he disagrees with the project. The best part? He might be going back to Roma. The best best BEST part? It'll be in exchange for MARCO BORRIELLO who would be heading back to Milan. You know, I both want this to be fake and true at the same time. On the one hand, Roma is really deadly already now with Zeman coaching and some key signings. Cassano would make them a top 3 team. On the other, I would LOVE Borriello to be, effectively, Ibrahimovic's replacement. God, the amount of anger coming out of the red half of San Siro would be AMAZING.

Finally, the Melo deal is a loan with obligation to buy for 7m. It's perfectly fine by me as long as there is an obligation and a fixed price, which seems to have been worked into the contract.

Edit: Oh, and Juventinknows.com is running a week full of Del Piero features. In today's feature is a video 250 of Del Piero's 289 goals over 40minutes. It's great to skim through if you aren't a Bianconero. Article with video here

That's the only thing I could think of. Time will tell but GM must be out for blood over this.

As a Juve fan, you should know all too well that "obligation" and "fixed price" mean nothing in a loan deal.

For $559 million... I should say so.

Sounds more shady on the part of the head of marketing rather than the club
I personally think this is a pretty mysterious deal and I'm inclined to think that the club has somehow influenced it. I can't prove it so I'll say no more than that.

Away from that though, it's not really ideal for the club to enter into a sponsorship deal, the flagship sponsorship deal aswell, with such surrounding it. We haven't announced it with any fanfare and it's pretty obvious GM aren't exactly delighted with it. You want to have a strong and happy relationship and I don't think we will tbh.

At the end of the day it's the sums which matter most which is why these deals even exist...but it just feels wrong really, like most of the finances at the club at the moment, I don't think these things are being done in the right way.

Even the DHL deal which was a pretty amazing one had some mystery about it.

I don't know. You think if GM really were unhappy with it they wouldn't have put their name to it in the first place.

That is true. I find it hard to believe that they would sign off on such a massive deal without people in senior positions checking over it...who knows.

Nice one for this, signed up. Is it right that it just says order done, but not shipped (nothing to ship, obviously). I'll just try signing into my login details in a bit. What time's United v Barca? Should that be on the site?

Yeah I did the same. Took about 10 minutes to 'ship'. Tried logging in and took a few more minutes before it would let me.

United's thrashing is on at 19:00.

Fml :( it's gonna be a massacre isn't it. Last time we played them in a friendly Michael Owen scored the winner but they had no Messi.

That's cute, but we had no obligation to buy Aquilani. It was an option which we didn't take up at the standing price. Very different. We've had obligations to buy Alessandro Matri and Marco Motta and for better (Matri) and for worse (Motta), we stood by the contracts we signed.
