There was, but that's not how refereeing works. Play continued. He led with his left leg stamping down in a way that is downright dangerous. It was a silly retaliation foul, worthy of a second yellow.

Complain that Vidal wasn't called for hauling him down, but if anyone thinks that wasn't a second yellow card they are blind with bias.
