United have the best squad depth in goal, defence, and up front.

Chelsea have the deepest midfield.

City have the best first 11.

How about Kolo Toure? It's not like both Chelsea and United still don't have a few places that they could do with strengthening either, overall I also think City got the best and deepest squad.

I thought Toure was off?

Much, MUCH different side this season. If they click they'll cause all sorts of problems.

To be fair this can be said for most of the top clubs. The seasons just started, they look better with Hazard in there but so do United with kagawa and Van Persie. Same with City and them getting Tevez back.

City and United will still be the favourites.

Hey, Einstein, if you haven't noticed it's not like United hasn't bought. This United side with the addition of Kagawa and RVP are also very different and even Buttner providing competition for Evra..

Even with RVP and Shinji you still have the third weakest squad.

Savic is useless and rage-inducing and CB is our weakest area in terms of depth, but both our best CB's are fit at the moment so I'm not worried. Plus we have options. Clichy and Zabaleta can all play CB, so can Richards.

GK - Hart, Pantimillon

CB - Kompany, Lescott, Toure, Savic, Richards
RB - Zabaleta, Richards
LB - Clichy, Kolarov

DM - Barry, Rodwell, de Jong
CM/AM - Silva, Nasri, Toure

RW - Milner, Nasri
LW - Nasri, Silva (?)

CF - Aguero, Tevez, Balotelli, Dzeko

Actually, their wings are pretty shallow as well now that Johnson's gone

I can't believe we let AJ go. Fucking Mancini sometimes. Sinclair deal is done apparently.

I thought Toure was off?

Rooney is in rather poor form, and Welbeck and Hernandez aren't up to the same standard. You think RVP + Rooney is better than Agüero, Tevez, Balotelli and Dzeko?

If you include Kagawa, then we also should include Nasri and Silva for City, both of which are better than Kagawa so it'd just be looking worse and worse.

Defense, yes. United is probably deepest there.

Nasri better than Kagawa? No.

Rooney is in very poor form, and was absolute gash for most of last year too, somehow manages to get a free pass from most United fans ala Nani.

City's strikers are definitely better imo, at least on current form etc.

I'm not sure if this has been a bad performance by Newcastle or a great performance by Chelsea.

A bit of both maybe

Yeah I'll concede that Nasri isn't better than Shinji.

'm actually surprised at how good Hazard has been. Fuck's sake the kid just can't help himself. He's involved in everything.

... ?

And LOL at the guy who said United's attack is better. Hernandez and Wellbeck aren't United players. They aren't good enough.

If you're gonna go off form Silva was crazy poor the last game for City and only Tevez and Nasri stood out in the City game last week. And really not enough minutes yet for Balotelli and Dzeko.

Kagawa's form has been pretty good for United while RVP still needs to gel with the team (same as Kagawa really) and as for Rooney, well guess he's going through something right now.

Rhodri. Just have a read of that one again..."

Aye Hazard has been immense.

What? He was, and it's relevant to today.

Welbeck I'm still unsure on, he is only 21 and could still turn out to be good. Hernandez... again, still unsure on him. Seems to have lost his magic first season touch, but still worth having in the squad as I've some faith that he'll find it again.

If I was to be very silly and rank the strikers I'd probably go Aguero > RVP > Rooney > Tevez > Balotelli > Welbeck > Dzeko > Hernandez, with me favouring City at the minute on current form.

Agreed with that striker ranking, although I ma have Rooney above RVP depending on this season

Balotelli can't be relied on not to get himself sent off and cost City games. Dzeko is barely wanted by his own club. United have more than 4 strikers too, youth players and everything. A foreign concept to most City fans.

Yup. Is there any promising youth striker for City actually?
